gahhhhh........i wish i was there live. I replay this show over and over every few months and I yearn for a chair reunion. Its therapy for my soul......
The effort is fucking commendable. I wish like everyone else he was content making spawn again and ozzy riffs forever, but it was not to be. Diorama is one of my favorite albums of all time
They played a concert at India Point Park in Providence Rhode Island back in 1999. It was part of the annual WBRU Free Summer Concert Series. My friends went to every one of them and would get 2 adjoining rooms at the hotel across the street where the bands were put up by the radio station. We knew the floor and the rooms that were used and had a knack for getting band members to come for a hang (kind bud, booze and young girls a big part of that equation). Already long story short, we ended up getting to hang out with Ben and Chris. Really, really great guys. Cool, funny, just very down to earth and were our age which was very cool. Point of the story; Never - and I mean *NEVER* let Chris Joannou take a shit in your hotel bathroom. Especially after pizza, beers and a few flaming shots of 151. Never in my life and until this day 22 years later have I *ever* smelled anything so putrid, revolting and sincerely unhealthy in my entire life. We laughed about it for hours, Ben especially - but everyone had to leave that room, huddle into the other and close the door that adjoined the rooms. My friend Cherri was a few years older than all of us and was a grad student at Brown. She was all legitimately concerned and thought that Chris should see a doctor because she thought something must have been seriously wrong internally for his shit to stink like it did. Ben assured her it was totally normal and that Chris always shit like that. He told her that he was surprised he used our bathroom because they had a rule that if Chris needed to shit, that he was not to use the toilet in their hotel room but instead to go to the lobby and use the one there. That night, I slept on the floor of the other room. The smell lingered until the next morning. A member of the band Dove Tail Joint was there that night to, he was so disgusted that he left the party. He got so mad he told Chris "that's fucking disgusting, you should be embarrassed. I don't care how many records you sell, you'll never find a wife. As soon as any girl smells *THAT,* she's out the door like I am now!" 🤣 Ahhh, I miss my youth.
Bwahahaha! As a colon cancer survivor, someone tell Chris to get a colonoscopy! Deep dive into SC history lately. Because what else is there to listen to at 51?! 😂
After clicking on Daniel johns website I will now only regard silverchair as the last thing he did musically. Damn good of you to post the whole "2nd act" show here. THANK YOU!
yes i expected him to release a 1-st record sound after CONTINUALLY CHANGING THE STYLE OF MUSIC his band played ON EVERY ALBUM. baka yaro. what i was HOPING for was good music. not pop garbage shit which sounds exactly like everything else. hell, you can't even tell he was PART OF his new "music."
Creating, experimenting with and playing different styles of music is the hallmark of true musicianship...Daniel Johns has evolved from his initial grunge/rock roots to become a talented musical arranger, bringing in organ, piano and full orchestra to bring all those layered new sounds, as well as experimenting with unusual chord progressions and time signatures aka Radiohead and Zappa.... It's Ok for you to not like his music. Stick to Frogstomp, Freak if you want, but to call his latest albums 'pop garbage shit' just shows you up as an ignorant bore. Don't comment on things you don't understand.
He every say why he switched away from PRS guitars? Rickenbacker is a very unusual choice. I guess it just depends on the tone/options he wants for specific songs.
@lisamessenger3713 Asylum is on the "Without You" EP , which unfortunately isn't available in the US (in case you're there, like I am, so I can't stream it 😞)
The BLACK BEAUTY Custom Les paul by Gibson one of the most beautiful majestic Gothic looking in all history of Guitars aside of my Black SG of course Daniel had good taste on guitars .. at least back in those days of a cooler Silverchair except for the Rickenbacker Guitar, i truly cannot stand the guitar only Rickenbackers i truly love are the Basses and Cliff Burton can tell you why
I blame the crowd in this theatre for mr johns change in music direction, they clearly did not understand the AWESOME moment in history they were living in. and clearly ruined the poor guy forever with their absolutely pathetic participation.
William Culver oh man-if you haven’t seen it search for their concert in i think it was In Washington and it freezing and they played while it was snowing and they rocked out so hard. 17 and having a thrilling time. Johns took over after FREAK SHOW Its apparently he wanted experiment with his vocals and that falsetto. There is a band called “Our Lady Piece” that had this song called “car crash”. And the lead singer has this other wofll
@@lisamurphy4282I’ll try to find it & link. 😊Wish I got to see them. I’m 6 yrs older than the band, so that influenced my music…Tool, to Alanis, to Ani, etc, at that time.
DJ did not sing & play with his soul like before, maybe because he wasn’t haunted anymore. Too bad, they 3 are perfect performers but no rage, no anger, nothing left to express i think... or at least, nothing interesting to express for me. And a show with sitted people, wtf ?!?
Can you belive this was 20 years ago? and for me, feels like yesterday.
Each of their performances is better than the other one. I can't believe how great they were. Definitely one of the best bands EVER.
One of my all time favorite bands...
Me too! And I'm 60 years old
@@MarusiaPhillips 51 & deep diving…I missed so much from ‘00-‘07. Never thought they’d split up.
Emotion Sickness is one of the best live performances i have ever seen....his voice was amazing at these days!!!

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT !!! THIS IS A FUCKING GREAT !!! THANK YOU, VERY VERY, VERY MUCH FOR UPLOADING !!!
It'd be great if they put out another album and toured again. I'd love to see them once before I die.
Silverchairs Music makes life easier
That performance was spectacular!
No words...watching it once again, and...OMG

O melhor de silverchair!!!

Wow, the WHOLE WORLD REALLY NEEDS Silverchair about now...😪!!!
Before Muse, before Queens Of The Stone Age, before The White Stripes...Silverchair in the 90s literally traced the path for these bands
I'm so glad I bought this when it released on DVD/CD box set.
magistral!!!
TWO HOURS AND A HALF ?!! HOLY shit that’s a long time for a concert
this live version emotion sickness makes me happy 7:00
the feeling of elation at around 36:00, the moment it turns from theatre to a concert. huzzah!

Freak is just one of those awesome songs that a band invents that cant be touched. Kind of like Champion by the grinners

its just chris man, I'm sure he's as happy as hell to be playing, just in his zone haha

jajajaja, si, más como de 70.
20:11 and onwards, clapping hands, haha!
I always assumed it was one of their mothers or nans. The kinda show you'd have your family come see you
eu amo silverchair e a minha paixão des de adolescente sera tem algum clip do cd diorama
you are welcome
Pena que no brasil não tem bandas boas assim :/
En Brasil hay bandas 159.000 veces mejores que silverchair
If only my husband could write, play & sing a song for me such as one way mule ... :D how lucky ex wife she was.

Was this at the Palais in St kilda?

Ummmmm, what rhythm guitar? Silverchair is a 3 piece. You can't count.
Who’s gonna tell him there’s only 1 guitar in the band?
