Therukoothu | Part 1 |தெருக்கூத்து |சுபத்திரை கல்யாணம்|ஸ்ரீ செல்லியம்மன் கட்டைக் கூத்து நாடக மன்றம்

It’s a street play. Subhadra Kalyanam will be the theme of the play. The story is part of our epic Mahabaratham. Subhadra is a Hindu goddess and a character in the Mahabharata written by Vyasa. She is worshiped as an incarnation of Goddess Yogmaya. In the epic, she is the sister of Krishna and Balarama. When Subhadra becomes of age, Balarama suggests her as a bride to Duryodhana who was his favourite pupil. Krishna knowing that Arjuna and Subhadra are deeply in love with each other tells Arjuna that they should elope with each other to prohibit her marriage with Duryodhana.
மகாபாரத காவியத்தில் கௌரவர்களின் சூழ்ச்சிகளுக்கு இடையே சுபத்திரையை கைப்பற்றும் அர்ஜூனனின் திருமணக் காட்சிகளை நம் கண்முன்னே கொண்டுவரும் பாரம்பரியமிக்க தெருக்கூத்து சுபத்திரை கல்யாணம்.
