There's a showcase of seven prizes (currently six in Australia now); the contestant who makes it to the Showcase round has to put the prizes in order of what they think is least expensive to most expensive. The most expensive prize (usually a car) is automatically placed at the bottom of the list.
There was one problem with the Cash tempter in the early days - the person going for it could easily find out, through simple addition, whether they won the showcase or not when the cash was brought out. As such, when they started with the Super Showcases, they did not show the price of the car at the bottom, just to make it more interesting.
ahh i remember this series of episodes, these were the first ones they did the cash tempter in the showcase. think they did this for a couple of weeks before they started with the "super" showcases
Not the big budget Mega showcase but still far more interesting than the glamourised 30-minute ad for Big W the show became when they revamped it in 2012
Spot on... in fact, this was the first one with the cash tempter... remember watching it, and it took me very much by surprise! Nine decided to do 2 weeks of 30-minute, weekday editions of Eddie Everywhere [Who Wants to be a Millionaire] at 5:30pm, meaning TPIR was at 5pm, and then the Hour Editions with firstly the Super Showcase, kicked in from June 28. They then run the $500,000 Mega Showcase, before two months of Monster Showcases to end 04!
@@StFidjnr on Tuesday June 22nd 2004 a contestant named Georgia made it to the Showcase and was offered $2,000 which she accepted as it turned out Georgia would’ve win the Showcase which was worth $52,055.
29:10 Why did nobody ever add up the totals? When they were deciding on an offer? Like at 29:51 the only decision would be Danielle or the showcase...I know which one I'd pick :D
I can't believe they were stupid enough at first to reveal the car price when they introduced the cash buyouts. Once the second to last item is revealed it was mathematically clear that he won the showcase so there was no point of offering the cash at that point.
This was Nine panicking to the runaway success of Deal or No Deal on Seven, with the first of a number of ultimately unsuccessful revamps in the timeslot. It wasn't until Hot Seat as late as 2009 onwards that they would snatch the timeslot back.
Normally in the US version, the car in any number is usually placed as the top prize. I don't get why the car is placed as the second prize. I wonder why.
I know the older ones are good the new ones maybe crap to you but there ok at least in the old ones you have contestants row new ones nope but i wonder before the show they do price games then brodie calls the ones that got it right beforehand or they just get shocked!!!!!
I don't believe it either, my father bought a new 42" Panasonic plasma in 2005 with a new Panasonic DVD/VCR recorder and it wasn't any more than $3000.

At the beginning of the second segment, it usually shows a clip on the top left corner of Cozzie calling the next contestant to ‘Come on down!’

I think it’s safe to say...
They’ve been cleared out!
this is so much more entertaining then the boring Price Is Right that is on today

I described this game show (The Price Is Right) as the Dream Factory.
I echo the comments of the TV Guru... would love to see more 03-05 eps, particularly the 2004 '$100,000 Super Showcase' Episodes!

It's a toy car on offer - not a real one!!
The showcase in Australia is much different than the one in the U.S. How does Australia's showcase work?
Gosh, those models are gorgeous :)
If I didn't know better, I'd swear that announcer is Rod Roddy doing an Australian accent.
The blinking dancing graphic.
I can't help it, I have to say it, and I bet a lot of girls had the same feeling. Damn Larry was cute back then!! :)
6:04 It was only when Steve Irwin died, that he was liked and hailed a hero. While he was alive, no one liked him and was a pest to everybody.
Anyone know where i can download series of this show? PLEASE
Can you upload the episode where Cassandra flashes
Have u got more eps? :)
I do like Jemima. She does look lovely and cheerful 😀
16:10 Why did Red say that?!

It's only a remote control car.... you never put a lower priced prize as the "top/star prize slot"
10%?
28:34 one more decision to make
19:52 lol
Why do they offer the money on the very last item at the showcase? I know it's a stressful situation but do they assume people can't do math?
that's IF and there *IS* a big IF that he or she thinks two or more prizes out of place he or she takes the money and call off the whole showcase

Funny that: Mum was pregnant and I was born in 2004 and I have a best friend Georgia
lol 16k for the TV
$16K for that hideous Tv???? Yikes
