Just like the current administration no adults around... matter of fact most of the people in congress are children and this is how we get to where we are....
The difference is that the deputy actually had legitimate reasons to arrest whoever was blocking him in, they are guilty of at least two crimes including one Federal felony. Also, sheriff's departments have actual constitutional authority. Local cops are just glorified security guards who don't actually have much more legal power than the average guy walking down the street.
A failure of justice while he single handedly blocked other officers from doing their job thereby obstructing justice and causing a failure in the system. He should be criminally charged.
Right, and it led to all the felony arrests there being given a summons. Never having a judge check their history, combine it with the crime they were arrested for and how solid of a case the arrest appears to be and how much of a threat to the public they could possibly be to set bail accordingly. I know alot of liberal democratic run places these days are doing the bs anyway but this is a whole new reason it happened here. How they gonna feel if one of the arrested people's criminal history warranted a decent size bail that they couldn't pay or at least pay to get out right away and they end up killing someone? Unreal that law enforcement acting like children throwing a hissy fit could possibly lead to someone losing their life or become an innocent victim of some other crime because they're on some old I'm taking my ball and going home shit. Shameful embarrassing and unprofessional.
I would argue the police are showing tons of respect to their citizens by not just being pushed around by the jail staff who are refusing their arrestees. It probably took a lot for them to get to that point. Only the jail is refusing to do their job, which is to book and lodge people who are under arrest. Would you rather just have police give court summons to domestic abusers because they know the jail won’t accept their prisoner no matter the charges? I feel bad for the city officers who work for such a spineless Chief.

So this is what it looks like when rival gangs square off against each other? You would think that between beating their spouses and shooting other people's dogs, cops would have all of this aggression out of their systems?
If they handled the public as diplomatically as they are treating each other here, we would have less problems. Did you see the one cop tap the other on the shoulder before he could go off on another guy.
The world we live in unfortuately. At least we have people flooding into the country from like 137 different other countries that might actually want to be police officers soon. Should be a fun ride for all of us. 😢
At first glance, what you said sounds like it makes sense, but the issue is between two (possibly more) law enforcement agencies. The feud has nothing to do with the general public. Your comment and the incident are not directly related to how officers treat citizens. Your comment was an oversimplification.
@@Bthoms I'd say your comment was the over simplification here. It's not a quantum leap to make a connection with how these agencies reacted and how they likely treat the general public.
@@necro_grin8515 this incident is merely a symptom of decades of unchecked police narcissism. It's part of their culture whether you choose to believe it or not. All cops are civilians. They hate to be referred to as civilians but they are. Every single one of them. They are not military. They like to dress like they are but they aren't. They don't have the balls to sign up. They're afraid from being away from home and most of them are not capable of passing the physical fitness requirements. And today's physical fitness standards in the military are a complete joke.
Actually, ALL municipal, county and state LE are civilians. Don't believe the perverted Merriams Webster definition of" anybody not a police officer or firefighter."
@@davidmeeker7481 I had no idea Webster's had changed the definition of civilian. My entire life the term, "civilian," referred to anyone not in the military and as far as I'm concerned the definition remains the same. I will always refer to cops, firefighters, and anyone else who isn't in the military as a civilian. I bet they refer to GS employees as non-civilians too. Next it will be any government employee, federal or state, is not a civilian. Being a veteran and rightfully so a civilian, the thought of LE or any non military member being referred to as anything but a civilian is appalling.
@Jon Dough There was a comment on this thread from a person named John Meeker and you didn't see where he said Merrimans Webster changed the definition to include LE and firefighters in the non- civilian category. The key words are, "changed the definition." And yes I did "join" the service and I did so without any sign on bonus or rank promotion. This was in 2000 before 9/11 so you can't get me on that one for the reason to "join." Were you drafted or did you do something besides "join?"
This was brilliant to watch, seeing all the ego power tripping officers fighting against each other. Was only a matter of time with the amount of narcissists in the police force.

You didn't even see the decision makers in the video...the Sheriff caused all that with his bullshit policy. The other officers and deputies were just following orders.
This is the same SNAFU involved in the deaths of those Uvalde, TX kids and teachers. Everybody with a badge wants to be first, wants to be in charge. Their governor needs to create policies that stratify their span and depth of power. It's not being done because governors are afraid of these badges. They're about putting blacks in jail. That, they are agree on. But, after that, it's a mess.
The sickening thing is when you hear a dispatcher saying there's a burglary in progress and all these people are too busy having a pissing match to move. Reminds me of the 2 fire stations fighting in Gangs of New York while the building burns down behind them
On one hand the cops can’t go on another call until they book the people they arrested, on the other hand the sheriff deputies could have gone on the calls the cops were missing. Overall this was a mess and something needs to happen so it doesn’t occur again.
As my name suggests, cop here and from that area but working there now, it's actually against nearly every department's policy to go to any call, especially a possibly violent call which all calls can become, with an arrestee in your backseat. You can't run code to a call with someone in your backseat. The jail is wrong, the sheriff is wrong for making this happen. He/she, the sheriff made this happen. The city is right. Which is why I think cities and counties should have their own jails, especially if they don't get along. However being from this area I know all of Columbus and Muscogee County is incorporated so they basically have the same jurisdiction over all the same area. The city lines go all the way to the county in most places. I think there is a few gaps heading out to Harris county
Imagine if there was something serious that needed those agencies to play together as a team. They can't even handle something like this without threats and favoritism and hostility. Insane.
There was something serious and Officer Andrew Fairbanks decided to leave his car there blocking the sheriff from responding to the serious call. Andrew Fairbanks just follows orders, even if he knows the order will make him a criminal. Andrew Fairbanks should be criminally charged for this as well as the black officer who is his boss who was so smart to give the order. The order his boss knew was f'ing wrong. He should probably be fired and arrested too, but being dumb and stubborn seems to be sought after traits for the economic terrorists.
@@McCucumber yes everyone I know there was a serious situation that one department had a call to, I meant a situation that involved all of them to coordinate together for a outcome. Not just to move a car and do their jobs.

So should the SD officer denying them all entry to the jail. There were 5 CPD officers who ALSO couldn't respond because the county refused to book their prisoners.
@@stephanieredden8861 no, the sheriff isn't completely denying state or local cops. But depending on how much room he has to house prisoners depends on how many and who he allows in.

This happened to my friend during COVID.he went to turn himself in to the jail but they wouldn't let him in and when I started recording just to have proof that he did turn himself in that's when they got on their jobs and made the necessary calls and got the paperwork stating his 6 months jail time was served.
its really hard for any of them to follow orders when everybody is on a power trip and there is zero communication, saying this is a breakdown in communications is an understatement, this is just how the justice system was built.

The officer was under no obligation to follow an unlawful command, but in todays insanity doing the right thing will get you shunned, if not fired, while violating civil rights will get you a slap on the wrist and a paid vacation. This entire debacle is evidence of the deterioration of these agency's and the harm it could cause.
Well the question is, how many of those people actually *needed* to be arrested? Some cops arrest people for any and everything instead of using discretion and that results in overcrowded jails/holding cells. Either way, this part of Georgia sounds like a hell hole from this video.
Cops who are properly trained won’t give an order that can’t be legally reinforced. So a no response wouldn’t be a head explosion, it would just be… ok then, you’re under arrest. After a couple warnings of course. 😮
I literally told a cop the opposite abd he tried to explode. My brother was being arrested. Yes he's an idiot but he's still my brother. I pull up they got his house off limits, and then blocked off driveways 2 neighbors down each way. . I stop cop just looks at me . Real dirty like. I literally peel out in his face as a fook you... 😂 He hits the lights and comes after me I whip around so he can't block me in the small lot... I stop roll my window down. He barks what's your problem. I replied my problem is your arresting my brother and I didn't give you permission. The look on his face was priceless 🤣. Further more you're blocking the driveway. He replies "you got no right to enter your brothers property it's locked down with a legal search warrant".... I said" who said i was going to his house.... I'm going to park in Mr. Howard's driveway a family friend of 35 years. You all have it blocked.... Ask your officer to move to park.... He wouldn't, just said nobody is stopping you from parking there .... O replied except that arsehat officer blocking it ... 😁 He said" you got a problem ".... I replied and my tone changed to the yeah i do and i will fight to the death tone.... But will you?.... And i said.... Exactly this "I'm not my brother, I don't take shite from anybody badge or not, ive already eaten 3 bullets (that's true) and I'll as many more as it takes to eat any man's face off who thinks they can stop me from parking in that driveway"..... I said this with pure vitriol, seething with hate and anger. These clowns have jad a hard on for my brother because they couldn't prove a false minor GrAPE case. Because there was none. My brother isn't into girls in the slightest. Totally gay. He was married but it was all a show. The lady he married knew. It was a marriage of convenience for both. They adopted several kids. (as they never had relations) one girl accused him repeatedly. This went on for 6 mths before CPS finally admitted she was the problem. She was diagnosed with a laundry list of mental health issues. He eas of course exonerated. The detectives swore he did it "because he easy acting odd"... He acted odd because he didn't want anyone to know he was gay. He had his reasons.... Anyways that cop literally saw my rage and disdain and knew he screwed up. Finally stammered "nobodies stopping you sir" 😁 so I said.... Fair enough and drove down and parked. Then i felt dumb because somehow even though i knew that cop blocking the driveway followed me, i got so angry i forgot 🤣. Anyways my brother told me he Heard.... Over the radio.... "Uh the other brother is here, he's uhm spicy, be wary" 😁.... Now I stayed in that driveway untill they cleared the scene, but as god as my witness I would have ate those bullets to rat his face off if they didn't let me. To any doubters, I spent 10 years in a large GrANG 5 of which I was an Enforcer. I dealt with cops, judges, people who owed money etc.... Anybody that understands what an Enforcer does knows I'm not some pushover. I got out changed my life became a nurse. They got my brother for fraud btw. I still don't know all the details. He gets bonded out tomorrow. But if i know him it's about money.....
This is a failure of funding only. The county could appoint another judge to clear up the cases. You hear that detainee saying, "Could you just give me a court date and turn me loose?" Well that's what they should do with the minor first-time offenders. That would free up space in the jail. It's the same thing in every state. Those county jails cost a fortune.

The worst part of this is everyone in uniform is armed. It really does not matter what triggered the showdown, emotions are out of control. This is what triggers situations.
I recently left law enforcement after 12 years. In my experience, many of the issues were internal. More times than not, the terrible situations people were put in were due to an incompetent command staff. It's not worth it.
It is also sickening the level of animosity and little games was unreal in the USA! Guess that thin blue line is a disappearing line. For example if I was there and they refused to let me leave i would contact my L.T. and calmly tell him or her what is happening and let the L.T. make a phone call. But there are a few bad Lieutenants I wouldn't even bother calling because they're either lazy or incompetent. If that was the case I'd probably try to handle it myself and the end result would just be a bunch of pissed off people that have been on shift for 16 to 20 hours talking shit to each other. Not that I would excuse this behavior, but if you have zero support you tend to not give a shit.
In my department we promoted people to the level of their incompetence. The worst person I ever worked with is now the Sheriff. She won by a landslide despite every officer from every department in our county endorsing her opponent.

This is what happens when you have multiple groups of people who've been falsely taught they have authority over everyone else come into conflict with each other. The only way they're taught to solve problems is by exerting that authority with an escalating series of threats, leaving them completely unable to find any way to work out simple problems like adults.
I disagree. This is what happens when you show favoritism towards a certain group of people and blatantly discriminate against another. All involved felt they were being treated unfairly and complained about the situation to their supervisors and from that point on were just following orders from their superiors sitting at a desk or chillin at home (idk kinda looks late). Either way I'm sure they all felt stupid over the whole deal. Let's say you were waiting in line at the DMV and you finally get to the front counter and the cashier asks you to please step aside so they can (for no apparent reason) take care of the next 5 people behind, would you get pissed off and complain or would you just stand there and do nothing?
When the head LEO of the county speaks, you listen. The city failed to follow the direction of the sheriff. The sheriff is in charge of the jail. The problem lies in the entire judicial system. How can we expect them to respect citizens when they can’t even respect each other
Right, and it led to all the felony arrests there being given a summons.

See the problem here is expecting an officer to respect anyone without a badge. It's only a matter of time until this garbage happened.

Love it when cops treat other cops like civilians. Now you know what it’s like not having a badge.
Oh snap bruh!

Reminds me of the 2 fire stations fighting in Gangs of New York while the building burns down behind them
Did you ever see the video of the cop arresting the fire fighter while he was actively working on a fire?
That was a good movie

At 10:03, officer states, “How bout we arrest them for not doing their job”. Sadly, this is typical cop mentality… threaten arrest to get your way, and not because they are doing absolutely nothing illegal.
The cops blocking the other cop’s vehicle in is criminal that’s obstruction cops could use it correctly for once
@@TomASwift if you parked your car behind a cop car and wouldn't move it when told to.. You would be arrested for obstruction at the very least.. And you would lose your vehicle as well for some undetermined amount of time considering your vehicle would become evidence.. Raspberries to you.. 🐧
@@pingo.with.a.camera9897 wrong!
@@TomASwift I agree that it was a pissing match, but the fact that a felony in progress (burglary) was the call the Deputy was trying to respond to, changes the dynamics. Hindering law enforcement from preforming their duty by purposely obstructing their path, is indeed illegal. The Sergeant gave an unlawful command to his officer to not move his unit, possibly putting citizens in need in peril.
@@pingo.with.a.camera9897 if a cop parks behind me, and I told him to move or I would arrest him, what do you think he would say?
Love how there are crimes going on and they are ignoring them for this.
Well the question is, how many of those people actually *needed* to be arrested?
Some cops arrest people for any and everything instead of using discretion and that results in overcrowded jails/holding cells. Either way, this part of Georgia sounds like a hell hole from this video.
Don’t worry they will find more arrests and fine the poor and middle class to make up for this😢😂😅😊

Don't have to imagine.
Suspect: can you release me and act like this never happened
Cop: today is your lucky day
Ever want to see a head explode from anger, just tell any cop "NO"
Cops who are properly trained won’t give an order that can’t be legally reinforced. So a no response wouldn’t be a head explosion, it would just be…
ok then, you’re under arrest. After a couple warnings of course. 😮
That’s only if they have reflective 🕶 sunglasses
But if i know him it's about money.....
lol
@@rickstorm4198 yes, you are so cool. Just one more dick they had to deal with. Bravo!

No one was going to start shooting but the one cop had to get all Extra about it and act like it was 🤦♀️Drama Queen
I recently left law enforcement after 12 years. In my experience, many of the issues were internal. More times than not, the terrible situations people were put in were due to an incompetent command staff. It's not worth it.
You are correct. Been there. Seen that.
Command is definitely at fault. Goes right to the top.
Bro, you are spot on! I’ve been in Law Enforcement for 24 years…. LAPD is rife with incompetent management!
It is also sickening the level of animosity and little games was unreal in the USA! Guess that thin blue line is a disappearing line. Us vs. Them is the new mentality or old one come back again, the police believe they are against or the public is at least against them like a war? Now they are also going to war with themselves, and USA has never been this divided than during or following the first Civil War. Now both left and right are talking about a new one? Covi, China, Russia, Iran, Mexico and NK, what a situation we all in now!
NAILED IT 👍. Im a 15 year Corrections Officer and it all starts with "leadership" The people in charge.

The only way they're taught to solve problems is by exerting that authority with an escalating series of threats, leaving them completely unable to find any way to work out simple problems like adults.
true.

Just like criminals.
People are actually handcuffed and arrested for nonviolent offences. This event is proof a simple citation could replace 90% of nonviolent arrests.
So theifs should just be allowed to run rampant?
