- It's May, and that means only one thing. It's rainbow trout time! The closure of rainbow trout waters is around the corner, giving you the opportunity to fish a few more waters before both brown trout and rainbow trout waters are closed. Today, I'm at Lake Rowallan on the Mersey river in Tasmania's north-west. Nestled between the Walls of Jerusalem and Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Parks, it is a fairly scenic location to try and catch a fish. Sunny skies and calm wind provide challenging lake fishing conditions. I still catch a few, so I hope you enjoy this short episode.
That Rainbow at 6:00 was beautiful 🤩
Spots on spots!
rainbow bonanza!
They only make up about 5% of the trout I catch. Such a fun fish!
We have had a dry time here in NZ as well (has impacted on the fisihing here as well) - I also saw you on TV here in NZ last week advertising the wildlife park there in Tassie and Tassie in general.
We only got rain last week, not enough but at least it was something. I hope I did a good job on the TV! I can't remember what I talked about, I'll have to find out how to watch it
@@TasmanianFishingAdventures come to tasmania was the gist. Nothing about fishing though at all.
Hey mate, love the videos, wondering about a gear video?
Hey mate, thanks for the feedback. I'll try and incorporate a bit of a gear section into the next video
