No Calvin got way bigger after this video. Bigger than Celine. Looking up in the sky so happy he was lip smacking. He had nursed ALL day. The last time Chicko got him his arms was kinda huge off Celine's milk until Casi refused to take him back. All that hair and meat rubbed off. lol believe that was his last meal
She got so good at pushing him off and kicking him. I noticed there were a few times when Casi was yanking on Calvin’s hair that Casi would inadvertently get caught up in it because little Calvin Clingers would outstretch both hands and both feet when she picked him up and he would snap them shut like a Venus Fly Trap on the first thing as he tried to stabilize himself. And do often that would be Celine’s face or ear or something.

I so wish that Casi would have pushed Calvin OFF of her chest right away when she clearly DID hear little Celine cry..) because Casi stopped grooming and did appear to look around for her) It still pisses me off 2 years later watching how she just continued to allow that rejected leech Calvin keep taking all of her real baby's milk... at least it was nice to see that when casi realised that her actual baby had walked off she went to look for and get her and it was super cute when she went up to her ahe put her head down by her almost like giving her a kiss it doing the monkey "talking" which showed how much she loves her real baby.. she never let Celine go wondering off to far without runing after her.. she never cared THAT much Calvin was by himself.. she would go get him when she was ready to leave the area... but with Celine she made sure her real baby that she loves was always close by her.. she wanted to be sure Celine didnt get any "babysitters" and so she could make sure Celine was safe she wanted to keep her in eyes few.. it was just a sweet moment that really well showed how much she cares for her real babies.. And Calvin was NOT hers that is why she was more then open to let him have a "babysitter"
Celine is running around playing. And of course Calvin can be found hanging off the Teat sleeping.. I sure hope he got some milk before falling Asleep.. Because he is never going to see another Milk Bar again soon. But first he will have to spend some time with his Favorite No Milk Babysitter Chiko. Ему было бы легче, если бы он знал что "его молоко" никто не будет пить.* + Каси уже несколько раз оставляла его и игнорировала его крики придти на помощь. + Кальвин боиться, оказаться в лапах Чико и его инстинкты говорят его безопаснее всего с кормящей самки. *на самом деле похищение Кальвина давало молоку напитаться полезными веществами. Стать более питательными для самца. Это благотворно повлияло бы на его состояние. Но такой вариант хорошо сыграл, если бы Кальвин оказался единственным дитенышем. И Каси продолжала его кормить и заботиться. Но. Это жирное НО - "СЕЛИН" и другое. Молоко Каси НЕ ПОДХОДИЛО для Кальвина. Ему требовались очень большие порции для насыщения и частые прикладывания к груди (может именно поэтому его было не оторвать от сосков? Кальвин был звездец каким счастливым, когда свободно менял во рту соски с правого на левый и обратно). По сути он пил разбавленое молоко. Слишком долгая трата ценных ресурсов. Похоже глаза Каси сместились на затылок, а потом вернулись обратно. Кстати, здесь всплывает интересная тема исследований о влиянии молока на развитие дитеныша. Каси, кормя Кальвина, отнимала ценные вложения в организм и здоровье Селин. В общем, обеспокоенность Кальвина оправдана. Береги себя и хорошего дня🍀

Calvin had issues at birth. He fell out of a tree for Pete’s sake! Most monkeys cling, Calvin had issues with just doing that. It’s hard telling what other neurological issues he had going on. His birth mother abandoned him for a reason. She never went back for him for a reason. She never picked him up when Casi abandoned him, for a reason. Nature isn’t a Disney film, cupcake. It’s brutal and harsh and only the strong/smart survive it. Unfortunately for Calvin, he was neither of those things. He was living on borrowed time from day 1.

Другие факторы влияющие на скорость роста (здесь предполодения исходя из того чего был лишен Кальвин и как факторы отразилась на развиваюшемся организме самца): - молоко матери (Молоко Каси идеально сблансировано для развития самки Селин. Кальвин будучи самцом получал менее сытное молоко) У Кальвина был слабый запас жира в организме + молоко Каси не обеспечивало его организм жирами и белками. - жара (+ длительные прогулки без молока) - жажда - усталось физическая, эмоциональная. Здесь я имею ввиду что будет удобнее для детеныша: цепляться за буйного худощавого подростка или за взрослую самку? С Чико Кальвин находился в постоянном нервном напряжении. Его роняли, тащили через ветки, протирали его головой и спиной шершавые стволы деревьев (обратите внимание у детенышей макак нет подшерстка, которое бы в некоторой степени амортизировало удары и скребления по нежной коде детеныша). Ему приходилось цепляться изо всех сил, потому что Чико не собиралась его страховать. Кальвин выматывался и как детеныш хотел, чтобы прогулка с Чико закончилось и его снова забрала Каси. Он не знал когда это закончиться. А в последние дни "заберет ли его Каси?". Есть видео, в которых Кальвин отчаянно тянет лапку к Каси, но Каси игнорирует его существование. - отсутствие отдыха. И никто не выдергивает хвост и не колупает пупок, не скребет пальцами засохшие какашки на анусе, не кусает мордочку (Чико делала это с Кальвиным). У Кальвина в эти дни подобная нирвана сведена к минимуму. Есть ди вообще? - отсутствие чувства безопасности, отклика привязанности и уверенности в удовлетворении потребностей. Из выше перечисленного Кальвин высыхал на жаре от жажды, усталости и нервного напряжения. Для полноты картины сравните какими были Кальвин и Селин 19-25. Особенно 22-23 апреля. Casi didn’t ask for this baby. It’s not hers. Her priority is keeping her own baby alive, not him. There’s not enough milk for two infants to survive on. What do you expect her to do? Why are you criticizing a mom who’s choosing her own baby over a stranger? Stop humanizing these animals. That’s not the way nature world. If you can’t handle the nature world, go away. I understand that you are probably another sheltered American who sees things only through the lenses of your own experiences and therefore to you it only seems right to just go and buy milk and give it to Calvin every day. Simple fix, right? These types of things are often asked by people who have never been around monkeys and don’t understand exactly what they’re talking about. Let me go through some of the more obvious reasons why videographers don’t go buy milk and just feed him every day. First, this is an autonomous group of wild monkeys. They are living completely free from dependence on humans, but they do enjoy food donations. When baby monkeys are born into a troop they must start learning immediately and adapting to their situation. It is imperative that baby monkeys do this on their own without much help because in the wild they will absolutely need to overcome obstacles in order to become strong enough to survive the harsh life in the wild. So even though these VO’s got Calvin two times and gave him milk, he ultimately has to learn to survive on his own. Help at this stage will only add to the probability he wouldn’t make it out there. Two, again these are wild monkeys and even though you see them peacefully sitting around not doing much, monkeys are very protective of other monkeys from humans. You cannot just walk up to any baby monkey and start doing whatever you want with it. That will stir them up and cause trouble very quickly. Even though Calvin was abandoned, Casi would get aggressive if you were to try and feed him while he was with her. Other times when Chiko had him, she became very difficult for VO’s to approach and she would run away every time cameras got close to her. The VO’s actually did attempt to give Calvin something to drink but the only way they could try was to offer it to Chiko and then spill it down onto Calvin so Chiko wouldn’t notice but that didn’t work because Chiko ended up staying really far back and only leaning forward with her head so Calvin stayed tucked well underneath her. There is no doing anything with baby monkeys. They are guarded very close and are almost completely unapproachable. They were able to take control of Calvin two times in his life while he was not being guarded and they gave him all the milk he could drink. But that was out of luck and would be impossible to do every day. Third, these VO’s are paid to hold cameras and record wild monkeys. They do help a lot of the monkeys when it works out, but their job is to record. They couldn’t feed Calvin every day even if they wanted to, but I am saying that they shouldn’t even if they could. What you don’t realize is Calvin is just one of thousands of monkeys in that area and many of them could use help very much. In your narrow field of view you see one monkey they are recording and you want them to save it every day instead of do their job and record them. You’re not considering that there are tons of monkeys having a bad day. So what should they do, go save all of them? Or should they just save the one that you are seeing on UA-cam because you are not used to seeing what life is like in the wild? Ultimately what you are asking is untenable and unrealistic for many reasons. Four, this is being recorded in Cambodia, a place where both money and sanctuaries are in short supply. You are thinking in terms of America where money is pretty easy to come by and going to buy milk for a month for a wild animal isn’t a big deal. But since this is Cambodia and these guys are not paid to do anything other than record the monkeys, buying milk would come out of their meager pay and they would probably be sacrificing food for their own family to eat in order to save one monkey that you think they should. Just behind the cameras though, there are many monkeys struggling who could use milk to survive. So just buying milk to feed one baby monkey as a side project from their actual job isn’t a great idea when you consider how many monkeys they could really be saving if they had that as part of their job. Five, they are recording wild monkeys, again, and there are many people who simply cannot handle how much animals suffer in the wild. It is a brutal place and it always has been. Many predators feed on monkeys because they are at the bottom of the food chain, they don’t eat meat, and they really have no way of defending themselves against predators. Monkeys are eaten alive regularly and it is truly horrible to watch a crying baby monkey get its face torn off and eaten while it struggles and dies. But this is so common in the wild because it is how animals eat. And all animals eat. Many of these monkeys will die cruel deaths, but it is the wild. Only in you limited understanding of the wild would it sound like a good idea to go through all this trouble just to save one baby monkey that lives in the wild. Monkeys die all the time, you just aren’t watching it. Try to understand that the life that you live where watching a hungry baby monkey is hard and makes you angry, but you are not living in the real world. Americans live a sheltered life and the real world is all around us and everywhere and it is a harsh and unforgiving place. It’s not the baby monkey that needs to be fed, it’s you that needs to understand what he is going through so absolutely normal for wild animals. I have so much more I could say but these are some of the obvious reasons why they can’t, nor should they, go buy milk to feed this one baby monkey.

They are very food agressive and have been known to bite and attack people especially children. And do often that would be Celine’s face or ear or something.

I so wish that Casi would have pushed Calvin OFF of her chest right away when she clearly DID hear little Celine cry..) because Casi stopped grooming and did appear to look around for her) It still pisses me off 2 years later watching how she just continued to allow that rejected leech Calvin keep taking all of her real baby's milk... at least it was nice to see that when casi realised that her actual baby had walked off she went to look for and get her and it was super cute when she went up to her ahe put her head down by her almost like giving her a kiss it doing the monkey "talking" which showed how much she loves her real baby.. she never let Celine go wondering off to far without runing after her.. she never cared THAT much Calvin was by himself.. she would go get him when she was ready to leave the area... but with Celine she made sure her real baby that she loves was always close by her.. she wanted to be sure Celine didnt get any "babysitters" and so she could make sure Celine was safe she wanted to keep her in eyes few.. it was just a sweet moment that really well showed how much she cares for her real babies.. And Calvin was NOT hers that is why she was more then open to let him have a "babysitter"

+ Кальвин боиться, оказаться в лапах Чико и его инстинкты говорят его безопаснее всего с кормящей самки.
*на самом деле похищение Кальвина давало молоку напитаться полезными веществами. Стать более питательными для самца. Это благотворно повлияло бы на его состояние. Но такой вариант хорошо сыграл, если бы Кальвин оказался единственным дитенышем. И Каси продолжала его кормить и заботиться. Но. Это жирное НО - "СЕЛИН" и другое. Молоко Каси НЕ ПОДХОДИЛО для Кальвина. Ему требовались очень большие порции для насыщения и частые прикладывания к груди (может именно поэтому его было не оторвать от сосков? Кальвин был звездец каким счастливым, когда свободно менял во рту соски с правого на левый и обратно). По сути он пил разбавленое молоко.
Слишком долгая трата ценных ресурсов. Похоже глаза Каси сместились на затылок, а потом вернулись обратно.
Кстати, здесь всплывает интересная тема исследований о влиянии молока на развитие дитеныша. Каси, кормя Кальвина, отнимала ценные вложения в организм и здоровье Селин.
В общем, обеспокоенность Кальвина оправдана.

Так как Кальвин продукт имбридинга у него могли быть генетические поломки (возможно возможно желтушка один из показателей) и слабое развитие тазовых костей.
Макаки держат сородичей с увечиями, но при условии, что сородич вливается в группу. Увы Кальвин демонстрировал поведение, которое отторгло от него самок (они и так не кормят чужих).
В идеале Кальвину требовалась своя кормящая самка, родившая и потерявшая самца. Как Мелида для Мартина. Но у Кальвина была Каси с молоком для самки и две недели принять условия от нее для его выживания.

Думаю отказ от Кальвина связан не только с его поведением. Но и с решением отряда. Макаки социальные животные. Самка избавиться от дитеныша, чем станет отвергнутой.
Когда пришел период охлаждения Каси от Кальвина она могла меньше кормить его по ночам (об этом писал @MaxMustermann-gx2jw) Кальвин криком будил сородичей. Его плач не мог вызвать в суровых сердцах диких животных человеческого умиления и сострадания. Большая вероятность того, что Каси не один раз подвергалась нападениям самцов. Порой она выглядела встревоженной.
А с Чико Кальвин вел себя гораздо тише. => Каси увидела поведение Кальвина. Решила и поняла, Кальвин вдали от нее не причинял ни ей, ни Селин неудобств. И отряд относился к ней и ее дочери спокойно, не изолировался от нее. Никто из самцов не нападал на нее.
Не знаю было ли это инстинктивным пониманием Каси, что именно Кальвин привлекает нежелательное внимание и ставит под угрозу их жизни. Как и вид Селин, меняющаяся в лучшую сторону без нападок и воровства молока Кальвиным. Ее решение и решение отряда не оставило Кальвину шансов на выживание.

P.S. Поведение Кальвина напоминает поведение кукушонка в чужом гнезде. Попав в чужое гнездо кукушонок методично избавляется от всех конкурентов. выбрасывают родных птенцов и яйца. Calvin had issues at birth. He fell out of a tree for Pete’s sake! Most monkeys cling, Calvin had issues with just doing that. It’s hard telling what other neurological issues he had going on. His birth mother abandoned him for a reason. She never went back for him for a reason. She never picked him up when Casi abandoned him, for a reason. Nature isn’t a Disney film, cupcake. It’s brutal and harsh and only the strong/smart survive it. Unfortunately for Calvin, he was neither of those things. He was living on borrowed time from day 1.

- молоко матери (Молоко Каси идеально сблансировано для развития самки Селин. Кальвин будучи самцом получал менее сытное молоко)
У Кальвина был слабый запас жира в организме + молоко Каси не обеспечивало его организм жирами и белками.
- жара (+ длительные прогулки без молока)
- жажда
- усталось физическая, эмоциональная. Здесь я имею ввиду что будет удобнее для детеныша: цепляться за буйного худощавого подростка или за взрослую самку? С Чико Кальвин находился в постоянном нервном напряжении. Его роняли, тащили через ветки, протирали его головой и спиной шершавые стволы деревьев (обратите внимание у детенышей макак нет подшерстка, которое бы в некоторой степени амортизировало удары и скребления по нежной коде детеныша). Ему приходилось цепляться изо всех сил, потому что Чико не собиралась его страховать. Кальвин выматывался и как детеныш хотел, чтобы прогулка с Чико закончилось и его снова забрала Каси. Он не знал когда это закончиться. А в последние дни "заберет ли его Каси?". Есть видео, в которых Кальвин отчаянно тянет лапку к Каси, но Каси игнорирует его существование.
- отсутствие отдыха. Помните игру Sims? Если персонажу не давать отдыхать или спать. Очень быстро на его месте появиться плита с надписью
"Rip". Для макакашонка полная нирвана расслабляться на коленях матери. И никто не выдергивает хвост и не колупает пупок, не скребет пальцами засохшие какашки на анусе, не кусает мордочку (Чико делала это с Кальвиным). У Кальвина в эти дни подобная нирвана сведена к минимуму. Есть ди вообще?

Из выше перечисленного Кальвин высыхал на жаре от жажды, усталости и нервного напряжения.
Для полноты картины сравните какими были Кальвин и Селин 19-25. Особенно 22-23 апреля. Лучше постмотреть каждого детеныша по отдельности. И потом сравнить динамику роста и развития детенышей в сравнении.

I understand that you are probably another sheltered American who sees things only through the lenses of your own experiences and therefore to you it only seems right to just go and buy milk and give it to Calvin every day. Simple fix, right? These types of things are often asked by people who have never been around monkeys and don’t understand exactly what they’re talking about. Let me go through some of the more obvious reasons why videographers don’t go buy milk and just feed him every day.
First, this is an autonomous group of wild monkeys. They are living completely free from dependence on humans, but they do enjoy food donations. When baby monkeys are born into a troop they must start learning immediately and adapting to their situation. It is imperative that baby monkeys do this on their own without much help because in the wild they will absolutely need to overcome obstacles in order to become strong enough to survive the harsh life in the wild. So even though these VO’s got Calvin two times and gave him milk, he ultimately has to learn to survive on his own. Help at this stage will only add to the probability he wouldn’t make it out there.
Two, again these are wild monkeys and even though you see them peacefully sitting around not doing much, monkeys are very protective of other monkeys from humans. You cannot just walk up to any baby monkey and start doing whatever you want with it. That will stir them up and cause trouble very quickly. Even though Calvin was abandoned, Casi would get aggressive if you were to try and feed him while he was with her. Other times when Chiko had him, she became very difficult for VO’s to approach and she would run away every time cameras got close to her. The VO’s actually did attempt to give Calvin something to drink but the only way they could try was to offer it to Chiko and then spill it down onto Calvin so Chiko wouldn’t notice but that didn’t work because Chiko ended up staying really far back and only leaning forward with her head so Calvin stayed tucked well underneath her. There is no doing anything with baby monkeys. They are guarded very close and are almost completely unapproachable. They were able to take control of Calvin two times in his life while he was not being guarded and they gave him all the milk he could drink. But that was out of luck and would be impossible to do every day.
Third, these VO’s are paid to hold cameras and record wild monkeys. They do help a lot of the monkeys when it works out, but their job is to record. They couldn’t feed Calvin every day even if they wanted to, but I am saying that they shouldn’t even if they could. What you don’t realize is Calvin is just one of thousands of monkeys in that area and many of them could use help very much. In your narrow field of view you see one monkey they are recording and you want them to save it every day instead of do their job and record them. You’re not considering that there are tons of monkeys having a bad day. So what should they do, go save all of them? Or should they just save the one that you are seeing on UA-cam because you are not used to seeing what life is like in the wild? Ultimately what you are asking is untenable and unrealistic for many reasons.
Four, this is being recorded in Cambodia, a place where both money and sanctuaries are in short supply. You are thinking in terms of America where money is pretty easy to come by and going to buy milk for a month for a wild animal isn’t a big deal. But since this is Cambodia and these guys are not paid to do anything other than record the monkeys, buying milk would come out of their meager pay and they would probably be sacrificing food for their own family to eat in order to save one monkey that you think they should. Just behind the cameras though, there are many monkeys struggling who could use milk to survive. So just buying milk to feed one baby monkey as a side project from their actual job isn’t a great idea when you consider how many monkeys they could really be saving if they had that as part of their job.
Five, they are recording wild monkeys, again, and there are many people who simply cannot handle how much animals suffer in the wild. It is a brutal place and it always has been. Many predators feed on monkeys because they are at the bottom of the food chain, they don’t eat meat, and they really have no way of defending themselves against predators. Monkeys are eaten alive regularly and it is truly horrible to watch a crying baby monkey get its face torn off and eaten while it struggles and dies. But this is so common in the wild because it is how animals eat. And all animals eat. Many of these monkeys will die cruel deaths, but it is the wild. Only in you limited understanding of the wild would it sound like a good idea to go through all this trouble just to save one baby monkey that lives in the wild. Monkeys die all the time, you just aren’t watching it. Try to understand that the life that you live where watching a hungry baby monkey is hard and makes you angry, but you are not living in the real world. Americans live a sheltered life and the real world is all around us and everywhere and it is a harsh and unforgiving place. It’s not the baby monkey that needs to be fed, it’s you that needs to understand what he is going through so absolutely normal for wild animals.
I have so much more I could say but these are some of the obvious reasons why they can’t, nor should they, go buy milk to feed this one baby monkey.

They are very food agressive and have been known to bite and attack people especially children. I am a PRIMATOLOGIST and I watch several monkey videos each day amd try to post comments like this with some real and true FACTS for people to read..but then i very often get nasty and rude replys from people who get SO angry because they feel my comments are to long and boring. The comments like that really show how LITTLE many people are interested in getting some real information. unless the information lines up with THEIR opinions, but truth is truth and facts are facts. these are WILD ANIMALS and the VOs are not ever supposed to get involved as it is actually AGAINST THE LAW in Cambodia. If a nature program on the National geographic channel showed a camera men rescuing a Gazelle from a pride of lions that would be just as rediculous and silly as these very poor people that record these MINKEYS going and giving bottles of milk to every wild baby monkey they see that is skinny. It is just Ludacris Nd insane yhst people ACTUALLY think that is something that they not only can do but that they SHOULD be doing that. These MINKEYS seen in the wild on these videos are NOT at a sanctuary or even a wild life preservation, they are litterly in the forests and jungles in Cambodia.
It is also beyond frustrating when people also try to blame the VOs for everything bad they see happening to these wild monkeys. it is something that blows my mind as a PRIMATOLOGIST who actually lived and studied monkeys IN Cambodia Nd saw how much these people recording truly LOVE those monkeys amd would not harm them ever. They also KNOW these wild monkeys and in turn also know the different troops and who the highest ranked monkeys are so that when they DO give food donations to the monkeys they ALWAYS make sure to give to the highest ranked ones first to NOT cause any problems in the troops.
amd then we get the fiolds who very seriously project their human emotions onto the wild animals. They see the mothers just WEANING a bany amd so many viewers get OUTRAGED and think they moms are "TOURTURING" their babies, wbich is also not true at all.
So I wanted to stay THANK YOU for sharing so many tbimgs that are just plan amd simple truths about wild monkeys AMD why the VOs cant just go "save" every baby they see having a hard to of it. When on fact there are HUNDREDS of baby monkeys that struggle.. but that is just how nature is, it is survival of the fittest snd only the strongest survive. Those who can just not get that through thsir heads have absolutely NO Place watching ANY wild life videos from any source. Seeing your post though made me so happy to see someone DOES know so much truth about the youtube videos of the Wild monkeys. My whole career is helping people learn about these animals and knowing someone has such a good grasp on them makes me feel hopeful that people can learn and understand the monkeys. do thank you and please keep passing along your amazing knowledge and firm grasp on the reality of and concepts of wild animals, in this case monkeys.
