I've dropped a stick more than once on the field. Always had a spare. Did you notice the dude's discipline? How he sticked it with no stick? Even when his right hand, with his stick, is at rest, the he sticked it with his left hand. Thats discipline.
Very musical and technically strong performance. MDFS knows the importance of staying true to the art of drumming yet make it very entertaining. Very proud to have once been a member and drum captain.
wow. didn't even notice the stick drop before i read this comment. that snare* is a good performer. im wicked impressed how he played the left hand beats only and it's still clean as shit
Richard Turner I agree 😂 I don’t wanna see how far they can throw a drum or how many flips they can do that’s wack af and it’s getting old. If they set that aside they really don’t have anything to offer
I’ve been following them for a few years now. I went to a different NSU and our line was about the same size, but corps style. These guys are the truth, hats off to the percussion caption head as he took their passion and helped to set them loose upon the world. I don’t know a line out there that can out work them. If they are doing this with the drumline I know they are killing it In the studios. In all honesty most of these guys could go march DCI if they aren’t already. Im hoping to make an actual game or event. I haven’t been this geeked on a line in a long time and I miss witness them and their wonderful band for my own eyes as both are something to behold.
Everyone in the show/funk marching world take note! This is what happens with quality instruction and selective auditions. This isn’t whack a mole drumming. This is real skill and it grooves. Now if you take that and put it into the horn line, you would be the premier program in the nation.
Lol they still smacked Cold Steel even if the fella dropped his stick. This line finally stopped trying to lower their standards to Cold Steel and rose above them.
Already watched this about 5 times and am gonna watch it a few more times. HBCU drumlines...the BEST. The rhythm and dancing...I swear I get turned on watching those men loving on and thrusting those drums. Hot af

“You dropped the stick, you bootay!” That made my day. This was still one of the most ridiculous blocks I’ve ever seen.
Exactly
Dee M did anybody ask? Nooeeeeepppp byeeee your dismissed✌🏾

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Norfolk got this one, it wasn't close either.
I don't think so. They are so boring no showmanship what so ever
To each his own. I guess they need to throw drums and flip instead of actually playing the drums.
@@velvetsowell4151 sorry but the MDF$ is a college level drum section. If you want cartwheels and drum throwing, look elsewhere
@@liquidlightz give me playing clean any day over showmanship.

Oh those college years!!! Enjoy them because they never come back!! I truly enjoyed mine. These bands are phenomenal

This is by far the Best HBCU Drumline out there. I have seen many HBCUDrumlines and none of them comes close to this Drumline.

ShowtimeWeb Great coverage. I was there. Please keep it up.
Oh yeah, MDF$ hands (& apparently drumsticks) down 😁😁😁
It’s like Military and soul has a baby
behold the green and gold
That quint session was crazy.
Now, I'm more of a DCI drummer, but the amount of skill/chops needed for this is actually pretty nutty. VA represent!
Speechless...
Lol they still smacked Cold Steel even if the fella dropped his stick. This line finally stopped trying to lower their standards to Cold Steel and rose above them.
Boy please, where? They still Poo with the water and the dropped sticks. Period.
@@velvetsowell4151 Stop, MDF$ was a clear winner on all cylinders. If you can't accept it then that sucks for you.
Facts
It's ok. I guess doing flips and throwing drums is that one thing that took Cold Steel over the top. Prarie View called, they want their act back.
@@RasAlXander he just hating on every post lmao. He must have played for A&T
These guys were wayyyyy better than cold plastic I mean steel😂😂😂 coming from a Jackson State Fan

Real drumline here! All you have to do is watch the BD’s. Take note HBCU’s, there is more to BD’s than whack-a-mole.
is there music for the first song anywhere?
Ohhhhhh noooo
Tua Turnthestickova?
No backflips and crazy sticking.....just chops! Maybe they can work on sticking a lil bit more so they wont drop a stick every other year lol
Them drums are water
Ok Norfolk

Stone cold quince
Did anyone notice the snare drummer during 5:34-5:37 almost drop his stick too ?
