Hi Rob! I love seeing all these Outback Wilderness mod videos for car camping. I’ve done a bunch to mine. I had that same rooftop tent but brought it back and decided to go with two Thule XT Sport cargo boxes and a Yakima side awning shade. Half of my back has my Exped MegaMat since it’s just me. Behind the driver side I keep some low level Rubbermaid containers to hold kitchen items, food, clothing. I do like the wooden shelves for your kitchen set up- so cool! I took out my back seat headrests- just take up space! Love to show you a few pictures. I’m in Charleston SC but going on long trips out west starting in July. Can’t wait

Really looking forward to seeing more of this adventure. That's a nice setup and I imagine it take a while to dial it in. As someone who spent many years traveling, nothing stings more then getting robbed, that really sucks. I had stuff stolen from luggage by airport staff, had passport stolen while in Brazil, to make that more fun, got pickpocketed at the train station trying to get to embassy to deal with passport. Had storage unit broken into and pretty much lost everything of value I owned. While that all stung and I lost priceless stuff to me that can never be replaced, the adventures I had while traveling overshadowed the lost stuff. Stuff can be replaced but memories of this adventure will last a lifetime. Let me know if you'll be in the Nashville TN area, would love to come see your presentation.

Wow! You’ve certainly experienced the gambit! None of things stolen are life changing, but it still sucks. We are still dialing things in. I’m afraid this will always be a process, but I enjoy it. Not in TN this time around, but we’ll be in Lexington, KY @ J & H Outfitters for a Backpacking Podcast livestream. Not sure how far that is from you, but all are welcome!

Glad to see you're getting dialed in. I'll be interested to see how the rooftop tent holds out.
I literally been sitting here looking for that camp kitchen on Amazon. No joy at the moment, but that's kind of what I was looking for to finish the transit connect out.

It’s an evolving process, but yes. We’re getting there! Thanks for watching. Cheers!
      Here’s that kitchen box: amzn.to/3T3R6Cl
I’d love an update on your connect.

@@robpelton That's the one I found after watching your video. So I was right on the money. It's still a little pricey for what it is, but then again all of the camp kitchens are. I don't really have the cabinetry skill nor the tools to build one.
I keep changing it every year, I can't quite find a layout that works. I thought about making it a little more modular, but kind of like you I need to keep the seats in. Not by contract but by use. Sometimes it's camping, sleeping in the van, hauling gear, and other times it's fishing equipment.
Solo camping everything fits in my backpack. But vehicle camping and everything else can take up a lot of space. I'll start heading back out pretty soon which will give me a chance to dial it in.

Dang Rob, glad to hear you're out traveling a bunch. Sorry to hear your things got stolen that is unfortunate, but I am sure overtime you will find better things than what you had! Safe travels man!
