Honestly, the transition from Act1 to Act2 is kinda wack. The momentum of escalation of violence was sidelined for Warwick plotline. The plotline is great, it's my top 2 plotline/act (prologue/act1 of S1 is no.1) and contains the second best ep for me (Blisters and bedrock. No.1 is Pretend like it's the first time)
I honestly feel like people complaining about S2 calling it mid is they just don’t understand or catch onto what is actually happening. These are some of the deepest characters I‘ve ever seen in fiction and every decision makes sense. I‘ve had heavy doubts after ep. 8 they could wrap it up within one more episode but I was pleased with the ending. I agree 1-2 more episodes would have been great but given each episode takes about 6 months for them to complete, I‘ll take what we got any day of the week. Also I want to mention real quick Silco‘s speech about how we build our own prisons was actually so profound.
@@Jbswe Spouting bs instead of trying to do a 5 second google check. Peak youtube comments. They've been working on Arcane for over 9 years. Do the math.
@@akantorman1 Tbf, out of 9 years, they took like 4 years to organise themselves to point where they can make Arcane. They also scrapped this project with fully complited first episode at least once and started from beginning thanks to rewrittes. So there is now solid chance that with more manpower, better tech and team with solid experience behand them, they could make a episode in shorter time. Would still agree that they would need at least 2 years to make one season with 9 to maybe 12 episodes if they push it.
The thing is, people who are enjoying arcane are the true league fans while those who complains are the basic anime fans. They're trying to compare the supposedly "best" anime aot or one piece or dbz basic storytelling to a much more deeper story of arcane.
I don't think so, unless you've heard some news which i haven't. The planning, budget, writing and animation was super hard and tiring, you can check some videos they've made . considering all that i think they would not want to make another series

@ShrimpEmporium coming from someone who roots for Vi and Caitlin’s relationship, that scene was wayyyy too abrupt and out of place. Amazing season but I skip that scene in my second watch
I read somewhere that apparently in an interview with sb from Riot it was said that the episodes of season 2 (at least all the ones from act 3) were supposed to be around 1 hours and 30 minutes each, but they were denied by Netflix. That explains the rushed feeling I got in this season at many points and I will never understand why these polishers can't just let the creators do their thing and let greatness shine.
“I read somewhere that apparently in an interview” You should really find the source of this info first before sharing it without knowing for certain that it’s true.
Arcane s2 best animated series this year by far. S1 was still slightly better but s2 was definitely still worth the wait. People who say s2 was shit are saying it purely because of the ending which arguably wasn’t even bad.
It's not confirm but many people is guessing that Noxus might be the next series. Too many hints that support that prediction. Like Swain crow is an wonderful Easter egg, Singed will go to Noxus for sure and according to the lore he mass murdered a lot of people in Lonia with his gas, the black rose is an big one... leblanc never revealed her appearances! Noxus series will be a good region to continue more stories about her.
It is NOT the definition of rushed, I agree it was rushed but there are more series that are rushed, like... Cyberpunk Edgerunners 💀 If you want rushed then watch that anime, it's got pacing that'll make Arcane look like a tortoise in pace.
I feel like season 2 needed more time to cook. I can see where they were going with everything but season 1 was a master class on character writing. Silco is STILL one of the best written characters in the recent years in any media. Season 2 tho feels like they rushed to much in several places/characters. Its also weird to say but the lesbian relationship/writing was much better in season 1 too. It had subtitles where season 2 felt more like "look at how gay we are". I would need an essay to explain what i exactly mean but the characters have less depth to them this season and are more stereo typical of their archetypes rather than being fully rounded out characters. There were also nothing plot lines introduced simply to fill questions from the first season that went absolutely no where. (Why was the black rose plot even a thing?) I still overall enjoyed the ride but season 2 is a big drop from season 1 personal. However season 1 is one of the only series i would say is absolutely a 10/10 masterpiece. So saying your not as good as perfection isn't really a knock on it's quality.
I didn't understand ANYTHING about the Black Rose plot, I thought "oh maybe it's the game's lore?" and just everything about Mel and Ambessa went over my head 😭
They did the best they can with the amount of episodes given. You can see all the themes they wanted to explore in Act 2 but needed to cram it down to MV's and snap shots just to stay in phase. I'd love for a season 3 but we can't have everything. This might also happen to Spider-verse, I am wishing its not. Anything visually stunning like Arcane and Spider-verse will cost a lot of money and a lot of time, maybe the higher-ups are not willing to invest that much on a project no matter the reputation it mustered
People keep saying the pacing and ending was horrible, but thats all I hear, while I fully enjoyed every single minute. What part of it in the last act was specifically bad?
Viktor not even becoming the Machine Herald and becoming undoing by the power of ~friendship~ is one. He has no agency. And him being the mage who saved Jayce to help him create Hextech to create and stop the GE is r.etarded. he could've let Jayce and his mother perish.
@@blacktigerpaw1It's not the power of friendship? 😅 Viktor is a Scientist before anything else, so he is willing to change his view on anything when provided with good evidence. And Jayce provided it in the form of his memory of the alternate universe where Viktor won and success on getting what he wanted. Seeing that version of him regretted everything he had done is an excellent evidence for him to stop his conquest. Which part of this is "The Power of Friendship"? And Viktor being introduced to hextech already retcon his story since his all about metal augment not hextech. I like to think the lore story is like a place holder where just waiting for arcane to alter their stories to fit the narrative but still staying close to their original lore.
Riot has tons of other side games that are fun to play. LOR is really fun to play for now that it is PVE, TFT can be a decent casual strategy game to play that generally requires very little mechanical ability. Some of the Riot Forge games are also good, though I have personally only played Song of Nunu and I loved that game.
It would have been better if they added 1 more episode leading up to the war and that would have been much better, but I'm fine with it since episode 9 itself wasn't bad at all. First season was definitely better by a long shot. It was super well animated and so much fun, but a lot of things felt rushed towards the end. Also, did not care for the lesbian sex, not only was over the top and unnecessary, but my mom walked in right as it was happening.
Had the same exact reaction and relapse. But thank god i left each 1st or 2nd game on all my 3 accounts and now i have 2 week game ban again. Crisis averted. Always have your account one leave away from 2 week ban guys. +15 min queue delay saved me from starting the game again many times.(another great failsafe) Made me quit the game for good.(more or less).
i did that but with fallout after watching the show i downloaded and played fallout 3 for 30 hours then deleted it because it was not as good as new vegas XD
This is why most series prefer to let a season end in a cliffhanger, because no matter how you do, people will always hate an ending. "Needs to be longer" "Needs to include this or that" Shut up, suck it up. It ends, move along.
Exactly right. People just won't accept there's an ending to a story that has nothing else to be told. That's how their story ends, they don't need to drag it out for the exact same end.
No, ending a show itself is an art that's doesn't have to be hated, breaking bad, code geass etc. It's not the ending I think people hate, they hate how fast characters changed and moved, they barely showed why they changed. In the end, things felt forced when they didn't have to if they gave more time for character development. The shows I talked above didn't have those problems, they tied all if not most loose ends properly and beautifully. Arcane could've been that.
This is cope for the ending to the series being unsatisfying to many when there are plenty of series that have well liked endings. Like what a dumb argument lol
I don't play league, only TFT and the show made me came back. I preferred the politics drama aspect of S1 than the 'end of the world' cliche plot of S2 (Act 3).
Cliche would be if everyone lived happily ever after. League's world Runeterra has many "world ending" entities that will soon come to the story like darkins or the watchers (void). Now they showed us a glimpse of what the Runes can do. First time we saw that was on a cinematic. ua-cam.com/video/oGnZk-_R0KQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LeagueofLegends
When u judge this show we have to consider two things separately. In terms of animation, music and artistic decision this is probably thr best thing ever. In terms of storytelling, characters and plots there are lots of better shows.
Feel like Arcane could have had a 3 seasons. They jammed too much in season 2 especially the last 2 arcs and did not like how they went with some of the characters. Not my warwick, Jayce, or viktor but even with all its problems it's far from mid.
S2 was good but the pacing is rather lackluster and some character arcs are weak at the end. I think joey will not be impressed in s2 knowing he didnt really vibed in s1 in whichi in my opinion was a better season.
It was such a huge letdown. After the work of art that was Season 1, this was just awful. The art team improved in every aspect, but what the fuk happened to the writing team? Feels like it was written by completely different people.
I just don't get why they went so hard dude. Simply making something good would have been enough. But Arcane was INSANE! It is the best thing I have watched in so many fucking years
While it's true that there are moments that are more emotional and heartfelt, the structure and pacing are all messy tho and there's so many moving parts they're trying to tackle all in one season. That's why objectively season 1 was better, but I still loved season 2.
@@internetgoat4831 I personally am really angry at season 2. It's very good, but it should have been a masterpiece like season 1. If they would just add one more Act or made each act 4 episodes they could have fixed almost all of the problems with this season.

I personally thought the only problem were episodes 8&9. Season 2 Episodes 1-7 was on par quality with Season 1. The problem is that they had to tie in loose ends and probably had to cut a lot of materials to fit in the time frame. I feel like an extra episode or another act to explain and let feelings marinate could've done the ending in a much cleaner manner.
It didn’t fumble the story, it just wasn’t that good. Season 2 episodes 1-7 were as good as the first season, but episode 8 and 9 had some VERY obvious and noticeable pacing problems that made it look like they were speedrunning the story. Was the pacing bad? Yes. Did it ruin the whole season? No
This show is so great, but arcane is a gay show. Having vi and cait as a gay couple is absolutely the best, they are also canonnically gay in the lore. But there's just too much gay in the show. Vik and jayce are now officially gay(It's sad because they are not gay in the original lore), they will probably make ekko gay too because he is bisexual in the lore and in his skins in the game. vander and silco look suspisciously gay, claggor is definitely gay because of how he looked at milo. Maddie is gay, Lest is also gay, she's so hot though. And in case you don't know, almost half of league characters are gay like tf and graves, ezreal, fiora, irelia, yasuo, varus, aphelios, sett, and many more. Since arcane is so popular with lgbtq community, riot will probably make more gay show in the future for sure. And as a straight guy, all my interest, love, and passion for the league universe is ruined.
Bruh the viktor and jayce aren’t even gay😂. You can love someone and not be romantically interested in them. The arcane writers even confirmed it. Ekko literally kissed powder and is most definitely still jinxes love interest. Your letting your own head canons ruin the show for yourself lol.

Even one of their writer is amanda, who has a deep support for lgbtq community, and she's been hanging out a lot with gay people on the internet.
Arcane and League of Legends aren't even connected. One is great (Arcane) and the other is bad (League). I can even point out at least 5 reasons for both of them.
@xsaw1846 I'm talking about a show and a game... Whether it's set on the same universe or not is irrelevant. Much like with the Super Mario universe, that has a game, a movie and series. Arcane would always be recommended as a show, but League of Legends would not be recommended as a game to play.

@ no, I actually don’t care about the plot very much. I care much more about the execution of the story, the dialogue, and the pacing-making things feel earned, immersion, character development, the execution of moments. I thought Arcane season 1 did that just masterfully, while season 2 was such a sharp drop off that I find there has to be something that happened (a change in writing team, or timeline constraints/schedule changes)…
There a interview with Arcane head writer that confirm they will focus on Demecia, Noxus and Ionia. With Swain got teased (Or Raum) the next series most likely will focus on Noxus.
There will be another series in the same universe. It just won't be called Arcane since it's not going to be in Piltover/Zaun, but based on the ending various characters from Arcane could possibly appear.
I think if there was one more season it could have been absolute classic status, only having 2 didn't give us enough time to sit with plot progressions. I still had so much fun watching though

Also I want to mention real quick Silco‘s speech about how we build our own prisons was actually so profound.
lol it definitely doesn’t take them 6 months per episode that would mean they have been making season 2 since 2020 which is obviously not true

“I read somewhere that apparently in an interview”

@firecat4529 Thanks for providing a source for that! So that confirms the finale at least had some stuff cut - the article says it was mostly action.
Noxus series will be a good region to continue more stories about her.
s2 is the defination of rushed but still top tear
Reminds me of Xmen 97
As Jayce said "There is beauty in imperfections."
It is NOT the definition of rushed, I agree it was rushed but there are more series that are rushed, like... Cyberpunk Edgerunners 💀
If you want rushed then watch that anime, it's got pacing that'll make Arcane look like a tortoise in pace.
(Why was the black rose plot even a thing?)
I still overall enjoyed the ride but season 2 is a big drop from season 1 personal.
@@babbypenginThey are probably setting it up for the new series
Yeah I think the black rose plot was left unfinished because they want to explore it more in their next animated league story
Viktor is a Scientist before anything else, so he is willing to change his view on anything when provided with good evidence.
And Jayce provided it in the form of his memory of the alternate universe where Viktor won and success on getting what he wanted.
Seeing that version of him regretted everything he had done is an excellent evidence for him to stop his conquest.
Which part of this is "The Power of Friendship"?
It's a Logical Reasoning that Viktor is more than willing to take. That he admits that at that moment, Jayce was right and he was wrong.
@@blacktigerpaw1Bro literally saw his future self that regretted what he’s doing right now. I’d be stupid if he still did it after seeing his future self tell him not to do it and it’s not worth it.
@@blacktigerpaw1i have my issues with s2 but that's not one of them. @@blacktigerpaw1 are you serious the whole point of him saving Jayce was to stop GE it was not worth it as Viktor said "only you can show me this" which is referring to him stopping the GE. And are we really complaining about characters being retcon there are already a lot of them each of their story is fine on its own but combining them would have such a mess because the lore is a mess. And Viktor being introduced to hextech already retcon his story since his all about metal augment not hextech. I like to think the lore story is like a place holder where just waiting for arcane to alter their stories to fit the narrative but still staying close to their original lore.
Arcane is a 10/10 for me. Incredible series. 😭💔
The only bad part of episode 9 was the beginning that felt a bit rush but halfway through it I completely forgot about that so it was still fine to me.

What you mean its over already? All the episodes were released instantly. Its Netflix.
This is why most series prefer to let a season end in a cliffhanger, because no matter how you do, people will always hate an ending.
"Needs to be longer"
"Needs to include this or that"
Shut up, suck it up. It ends, move along.
Exactly right. People just won't accept there's an ending to a story that has nothing else to be told. That's how their story ends, they don't need to drag it out for the exact same end.
same on with you. you said it beatifuly. and i dont think its even rushed just battle ended fast.
Yup almost made me “play” league again. And I say “play” because you do not play league, league plays you

Apparently nothing's worse than having toxicity in LoL besides having fun in LoL
When u judge this show we have to consider two things separately. In terms of animation, music and artistic decision this is probably thr best thing ever. In terms of storytelling, characters and plots there are lots of better shows.

S2 was good but the pacing is rather lackluster and some character arcs are weak at the end. I think joey will not be impressed in s2 knowing he didnt really vibed in s1 in whichi in my opinion was a better season.

I personally prefer season 2 to seaosn 1.

S2 kinda fumbled the story with it being the final season.
Should have been 3 seasons, still an amazing season though
The amount of stuff that happened in season 2 really needed preferably to be 2 seasons or at least one more act.
Par, you are so right bro.

Whether it's set on the same universe or not is irrelevant. Much like with the Super Mario universe, that has a game, a movie and series.
