In order to have someone like Caitlin come along, you have to have great coaches in your life. Coaches who allow her to be free with her game. She’s helping to grow the game & it’s what people want to see. I’m happy for her because of what she’s doing for women’s basketball. It’s been a long time since a player has come into the game & has impacted it the way she has with the way she plays. She has drawn a lot of attention & that’s what we need to have as much success as the men’s game. They talk about the men’s games more then they do the women’s & we deserve just as much attention as the men do.
This year it appears no one cares about the men’s game. It’s a confluence of various factors that boosting interest in the women’s game not the least of which is Caitlin Clark.
I love how Kristin mentioned being willing to work with mid level teammates. If kids don’t either have the skill/drive/desire to specialize it is nearly impossible to stick with a sport. You need those players to have a strong team.
