I couldn't agree with you more. I own knives from $40 to $420 I use them all , but lately I've mostly using the budget ones the most. It's unbelievable how good the new budget knives are.
I tell ya the knife channel that focuses on knives $60 and under 100% has my attention. I'm too cheap to spend big money on just 1 knife. When I see youtubers start talking about $100+ knives my mind just instant tunes out. So thank you for "low budget" videos likes this one.

I bought a $500 micro tech forgot it was on my lap stood up and hit concrete. Don't rush yourself especially when you have a expensive knife on your lap.
I own many Great eastern cutlery and Case knives Spyderco knives even a custom one-of-a-kind Bowie I paid $595.00 for. However, Now that I am 64 years old near retirement with less money and other priorities I will no longer be collecting and buying anymore knives of any kind no matter how nice they are or what new models come out. That is just me my opinion fro0m years of collecting knives. If you are young and have the money enjoy collecting knives it is a fun hobby but it can be very expensive too.

The P801, easily a $100 knife in hand. Ruike has always been in the shadows dropping amazing budget knives. At one point they had a S steel for under $75 I want to might have been $60. I got a cold steele Code 4 with S35 VN 3.5 inch spear point blade at Midway for 45.00 on sale. Not a fidgety knife but excellent value for the materials for under 50 bucks. On sale right now .
Great stuff as always! I bought a Swiss Tech Leicht a few months ago and that thing was razor sharp out of the box. I keep it in my truck so that if it gets broken into and things get stolen, it’s a low cost blade that’s easily replaceable. That being said, I was impressed with the quality and what you get for $36.
@@jonjeffrey9062 I love spyderco man, not sure why they get so much hate on their blade shapes, I think they look sweet. I’ve had my para 3 in maxamet for a few years now, they do maxamet justice. The manix 2 is a great one too, the ball bearing makes such a satisfying sound opening the knife.
I like that sr1 alot. The only reason I didn't get one a month ago was the ad15 was on sale at the time. Tank. It's a tank. Yeah swisstech makes dang good knives for the money. I'm honestly glad he commented about his budget! I should have considered that and broke the first video up. However, it gave me a reason for another one!!! Haha. So thanks, friend!!! I have quite a few of the knives you mentioned. I also agree that brand can sway people's perception of a knife. Hard to find an American made knife for under $50, but the Buck 110 and 112 selects are really nice and made in the USA.
Yes sir! Those Buck knives are phenominal! They were a little past the price point of this video, but they are inexpensive knives that every collector needs!
Good Video... "Budget" knives, however we define that, have attained the quality of build that premium knives used to be the sole owners of... it's crazy what you can get now. I think CJRB, Sencut/Civivi, Vosteed, Kizer, Bestech, Kershaw, etc., have made it so easy to get a truly NICE knife, for amazing prices. Cheers! Subbed/Liked/Commented... :) Happy New Year!

I had to re-think my view of tanto blades when I noticed all my drop point blades were going dull in the same spot, by the curve of the blade, no matter what blade steel I in use.
I've got plenty of 8CR 13 blades. They are all razor-sharp and good work horses. Yes, you have to strop them up and sharpen them occasionally, but they are all good knives and affordable.

8cr is less tougher steel. Spyderco has been in the game since 76. Spyderco does use 8Cr13MoV steel on some of their budget-friendly knives, like the Tenacious series, which makes them more affordable. However, Spyderco is renowned for offering a variety of premium steels, like S45VN, CPM-M4, and even exotic steels like Maxamet and ZDP-189, on their higher-end models. The choice of steel depends on the price point and intended use. Addressing "Weird" Designs: Spyderco's designs prioritize ergonomics, functionality, and cutting performance over traditional aesthetics. The unique shapes, like the wide blades and prominent finger choils, are intentional to enhance control, comfort, and slicing efficiency. Once you use one, the 'weirdness' often makes perfect sense.
