    Here is an underwater video of how high speed lures look underwater for anyone who wants to see how deep some of the lures get!

    I used to grab the shock leader and pull the ono through the door. You can lose the tournament by 1 oz of blood lost. I used 130s so I didn't have to slow down as much. Low gear and crank um in. Fun video thanks for bringing back lots of memories

    Wow just seeing this out of the box ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

    Looks like a 4 line spread. Are you running 2, 48oz trolling leads on the out riggers, and 2 planers in the middle?

    • @ReelHazardous
      @ReelHazardous 3 роки тому +1

      I usually run 4 to 5 lines when high speed trolling. I'll either run a planar and a 48 ounce on the bent butts or two 48 ounce weights. The outriggers I'll run lighter weights on. Like a 24 ounce or maybe 32. I try not to put too much stress on the outriggers.

      +PalmBeach Bex Thanks, it is a lot of fun! If you don't have a boat you could always charter a boat out too!

    The old "banana stuper-stition! nothing but childish superstition! I have been fishing with bananas on the boat and in my stomach on most of my numerous fishing trips for over 35 years! I love bananas and banana colored baits! They are always welcome in my boat!

    I'm just starting out with the HST, I have a question for you, when hand leadering the weight and then the fish to the boat is the excess line going back into the water or the boat. Thanks

      I've heard people doing both but I would prefer to keep it in the boat if the deck isn't cluttered. It takes practice but if you can wind it on the Cuban yo yo that would be ideal.

    Nice fish. Why are you clearing your lines? Keep those other lures out and keep up your speed you'll get doubles and triples instead of those singles. 57# is a great fish.

    Why do they gaft the Ono in the stomach and not the head area?

      cause theyre fishing a tournament and care more about getting the fish in the boat than getting pristine fillets

    What was the flats blue setup you had out? rod and reel?

    • @ReelHazardous
      @ReelHazardous 7 років тому

      We had a 50 Tiagra with braid on a Chaos rod on one side and an 80W Penn with 80lb mono on a chaos rod on the other side. We also run a Penn 50TW and a Tiagra 50W on a tag line sometimes.

    • @LtZKO
      @LtZKO 7 років тому

      Yea I am tracking your main rods but there's a Blair Wiggins rod in the background. Never seen one trolled so I was curious to the setup. Its on the starboard side for the first half and moved to the port side during your second photo when your bib blew out of your mouth.

    • @ReelHazardous
      @ReelHazardous 7 років тому

      Yeah I still really like the Suzuki's. The Evinrude G2's look really interesting and I've heard some good things about them but since they are new I am still watching to see how they do in the long run.

    • @westnoorazli4943
      @westnoorazli4943 7 років тому

      yeah same here , I am sure the performance is good . I just have one too many bad experience with e-tecs , maybe these g2s are a lot more durable . from my observation (youtube videos) it does sound loud on high rpm , which is not ideal for being a commercial diveboat . anyway thanks for the reply . dive safe

    • @ReelHazardous
      @ReelHazardous 7 років тому

      Thanks! Yeah, I heard one in person once and they are still kinda loud. Kinda hard to go back to after running fourstrokes. Where do you dive at?

    Banaba have nothing to do with fishing. During the age of sail and steam , when transporting fruit around the globe, the gas given off from bananas would encourage the rest of the different fruit to ripen. So during the voyage all these fruits would go off before reaching port. Eat banana whilst fishing a good energy source for when your winding in those big ones.
