A lot of black bamboo is flowering at the moment. Since they usually die after flowering, I fear the result of your efforts may be short lived.

Yes I heard Monty don say that about flowering. Well if they don't survive at least I've taken some old stock off the RHS 😊 I'll update in due course. Mark

I just wanted to give positive feedback. I enjoy hearing out the thought process. The information you give while talking I find very helpful. There are plenty of less useful, if at all useful ASMR content on UA-cam.

I got 3 for £5 each in winter from B&Q an after seeing this I fear I may of messed up as I didn’t saw off base roots I just broke them up a bit before planting in the garden. Also definitely worth a try with them off cuts.🤞👍

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for this tutorial. We've just bought 2 different bamboo plants for our big pots. They act as a screening for our horrid neighbour. Weve now got 6 different types of bamboo in our big pots. We love them 🌴🪴🌱😊

Bargain. I had to cut a massive pot to get my large bamboo out, and used my dewalt reciprocating saw to split it in half,( blade used only for such jobs) I now have 2 bamboo plants thriving in large pots 😊
I wonder why bamboo is so expensive to buy when it runs all over the place 🤔 I do love it for the swishy noise it makes in the wind, and it gives a bit of privacy too.
My neighbour's just got a noisy cockerel, goes off at 3 30am waking everyone up and continues all day. It's driving everyone nuts. Got any good tips for that? I tried playing a fox noise on UA-cam but that didn't stop it. 😢

Thanks Anna. Our neighbours have 7 horses, two goats, 3 dogs, 2 sheep, a cockatiels and a peacock. Earplugs x
