The first day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Shailaputri.
Shailaputri is the first avatar of the Nav Durga, as her name suggests she is the daughter of the mountain. She holds lotus in one hand and trishula in the other and sits on a bull. The crescent moon is adorned as a crown on her forehead, she is Yashasvini - the celebrated mother Durga🙏
