Thanks guys! The 3rd lane is for a pit stop. I have a FTDI cable for the 6 car digital power base so I can connect it to laptop. Using SSDC or RCS64 software I can run fuel and tyre simulation as well as get position and lap times on the big telly! The track is a digital remake of vecbtb's original analogue track (check out slotforum dot com for further info on this if you're interested). It's about the most amount of track you can fit in to 8 by 4 feet however when you add the barriers it's slightly over by a cpl of inches ;-( I plan to make this a portable permanent layout and will get oversized MDF 9 by 5 cut in to 2 *(4.5 by 5) so I can take it down for storage and also move in a van. This is latest version and since that was taken I have added another CLC on the top level at left side so even more overtaking opportunities! i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b436/portals999/track_002_zpsc1s1cphj.jpg Pipe lagging is very cheap and easy to cut to size, I cut some 4mm plywood to support the top level and the lagging works great and looks pretty good! cheers!
Lovely track; would be interested to know what straights/corners etc. you used and what quantities I'd need to do this as an analogue track using the arc air powerbase please? Obviously don't need a pit lane so just ordinary track.
Thanks, see this thread: www.slotforum.com/threads/new-permanent-portable-ssd-track-build-9-by-5-feet.137945/page-6 and this updated video ua-cam.com/video/im7v5-weL1Q/v-deo.html
