What if the criminal records place has refused to give you a police certificate due to a past conviction? What happens then? My spouse had explained why he required a police certificate from the criminal records office and he was denied a police certificate. Any advice on that?? As I am currently applying for humanitarian and compassionate package. We have everything but the certificate.
You can be exempt to provide a police certificate but this is rare. You have to show that you made all efforts to try to obtain the certificate.
Hi Keyork, I was wondering I have a Carless Driving conviction in the UK that was almost 8 years ago (almost 8 years since I paid the fine) and I have been invited to apply for the working holiday visa, can i apply for rehabiliation at the same time as applying for the working holiday so I would not lose my invitation waiting for rehabiliation to be accepted? Thank you for your question! Based on what you've told us, and given that your conviction was eight (8) years ago, it sounds as though you may be eligible for rehabilitation and that you may now be able to apply for a criminal rehabilitation in conjunction with your working holiday visa.

Hi I'm an Indian national presently working in Muscat Oman as a truck driver, before here I worked for five years in Qatar and unfortunately I have a road accident case and person got injured in another car hit by my truck later on court fined me 1800 Canadian dollars + 1 month imprisonment( but didn't put me behind bars just charged fine only) it was happened in 2011 and fine was paid in March 2013. Hi, I lived in UK and I had argument with wife and she informed police . Police didn't take any action because of there were no complain . And finally Police decided that 'No Further Action' is anticipated in this matter because of insufficient evidence to proceed. I would recommend obtaining a copy of your criminal record and reviewing this with an immigration lawyer and seeing if any action must be taken. Regardless, we always recommend contextualizing all criminal history in IRCC applications so that they do not stumble upon it by accident and assume the applicant is attempting to conceal anything.
