This was arguably my favorite scene from Episode II, simply for the sheer number of awesome sound effects it rolled into a single sequence.

@@LordVader1094 I too share this theory. Possibly the Force itself is responsible as it's a living energy field that is everywhere. It may nullify certain elements of space making the only dangers in space lack of oxygen and extremely low ambient temperature.
