I have a special fondness for this one. Setting the way-back machine to the Winter of 2010. My friend invites me to see this movie as an original print was being shown. I had watched mostly mainstream horror at that time; movies like Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream. I had a brief taste of vintage obscure horror when a girl I was dating had a friend who had a bootleg collection and let me borrow Nightmare in A Damaged Brain; which I loved. After seeing this movie, I absolutely loved it. It just hits the pure nostalgia feel with practical effects, the old toys that I used to play with, the vintage decorations I used to see. It was just a perfect trip. So we made it a pact to see this movie every year that it gets shown. I even met Robert Brian Wilson at one of those Alamo Drafthouse screenings and got a photo with him. Whereas the screenings all but dwindled away, I now have a two different copies on Bluray (one that is a double-bill with the recent Silent Night) and the other the Shout Factory release. And, in the next few days, I should have the Shout Factory 4K release in hand. And all I have to say about that is.....PUNISH!!!!!!!!!
The reason this was controversial than other Santa killer movies, was that it wasn't an art house flick. Say like Tales from the Crypt from Amicus or To All a Good Night.
The funniest part is that Mickey Rooney(best known hater of the movie), ended up being with a major role in the 5th movie! The 5th movie is my 2nd favorite of the original movies! Silent Night was ok, but comes in third of my favorite of the series!
Aw this stinks !! This is the only movie these joker's in " TV land" won't broadcast !! You either have to buy it or search your cable archives !! But I loved it !!! 😝👍👍
Loved seeing it in local mom and pop video rental stores in HP and Dedham! The VHS cover is burnt into my memory. 👍🏻

@@falcon048 me too. It’s a definite guilty pleasure
My favorite scene is when Billy goes after that bully and get him. 😀👍🎅

This series is the rare case of a remake being a better suggestion than any previous installment.
@@AHalevonEric I really like the remake. Maybe my favorite to come out of that late 2000 to 2015 era.
