“You can send every mutant in Canada after me.”
Me: “Uhh, I think they already have.”
Yeah, the others are already part of the X-Men, like Rogue. Haha!
Deadpool isn't here...
The Alpha Flight aren't mutants. Except Northstar and his sister that is.
@@Fooleth Rogue isn't Canadian
@@mdolinski4926 Deadpool technically isn't a mutant
It's kind of hilarious how he name drops pretty much everyone on Alpha Flight throughout the fight.
What an honour!
He snubbed Snowbird and Aurora!!
I agree
@@cheynepearson1960 none of em got toys. They name dropped em because they wanted as many marvel characters in the show as they could and respected the lore.
Except for the two female members of the team Snowbird and Aurora. He only name dropped just the male members of the team.
Shamans weakness is lightly tossing vines at his face. Vindicator’s is being kicked, owl lady Dale Gribble pocket sand attack. God I love this team
I liked how Wolverine intentionally held back against his former team, he only popped his claws against Vindicator because he knew he had a force field, but never did so against the others. Plus he saves that one girl (forgot her name) from the falling tree
Snowbird
if you know anything about the team, you can tell they're holding back too. but to be honest, I doubt they liked being sicced on a friend either (apart from Vindicator, but he's an ass)
@@pendraco2000 yeah, shaman made that pretty obvious
@@pendraco2000 Yeah, the original Alpha Flight team was more than capable of dealing with Wolverine. Truth be told, there were several members that probably could have handled him (Shaman, Northstar, Aurora, and Vindicator. Maybe Sasquatch.)
That's why he's always been my favorite. Wolverine may be a lot of things but he's a protector 1st & foremost
The most Canadian x men scene ever. Even the actors are all Canadian.
"He should be right here eh"
Plus, it was a very polite confrontation.
@chienforcer except thats a myth. Canadians are the biggest asshats ever, especially French Canadians.
When you realize the real reason they want Wolverine back is because he can thrash the entire squad alone
ever read the comics dude? james could have kicked his ass alone (although they both make comments that they were evenly matched) this is pure american propaganda!
Paul Vanwalleghem well, they’re Canadian, so...
INEVERGAVE he is, but they are FRENCH Canadian.
It's also why he left, because he always felt like their weapon than their teammate.
Anyone who wasn’t an X man on that show got owned cuz you get to do that when you’re the star. But that’s ok cuz spiderman thrashed all the X-men on his own show.
"He should be right here, EH?"
Wolverine has so many good one-liners in this show. "Don't make me move you," is still one of the best.
One thing I loved about this show is they would introduce so many new characters and teams, but they never held your hand into explaining them. Took me years to even get the back story behind these characters. (This was before high speed internet, Wiki and google btw)
To get you to buy the Comics
Yes the mind held onto every rare fact it would come across back then.😁
@@b.b.s7545 Don't know if that was their plan, but It worked :)
Funny bit of trivia: Shaman was voiced by Don Francks, who also voiced Sabretooth.
@2:15. This moment is so funny, how he reacts and falls apart at wolverines throwing some ripped plant vines at him
And Puck, as well.
Don Fracks was a legit member of the Red Pheasant Cree Nation and had the nickname Iron Buffalo his daughter is voice actress and actress Cree Summer who is known for the voice of Susie Carmichael on Rugrats and Freddie Brooks on Cosby/A Different World
Love how Puck drops the "Eh" at the end🤣 "He should be right here Eh?"
Why does he do that, is it a Canadian thing? I thought it was just us Brits who did it ha!
That’s racist! I’m Canadian and I’ve only ever said Eh while mocking Americans doing a “Canadian accent”
@@thenationaltimelyactionhou9328 Same.
yea that had to be intentional haha
@@thenationaltimelyactionhou9328Canadian isn't a race. It's barely a nationality.
i like how he throw sand in Snowbirds face but moved her out of the way when she almost got crushed by the tree
Yeah, because there was only 1 person on that Team that Wolverine actually hated. That's why he didn't go hard against the rest, and tried to avoid hurting them.
As a Canadian, this genuinely made me laugh my ass off. Gotta love Alpha Flight
The Sasquotch and the first nation guy are the shit.
@2:15. Shamans reaction to getting some vines thrown back at him is hilarious, reminds me of Acorn Cop
@@Tortilla.Reform Lol, yeah, that was just a silly reaction. He acted as if it was an anvil hitting him.
@bruteboy123 what's a first nations guy? eskimos? Koreans?
@@lolwtnick4362 Native Canadians before European colonization, comparable to Native Americans in the US
This episode I know word for word..... favourite episode by a mile
Wow, this was ripped straight from the comics. It's actually pretty impressive. Too bad Alpha Flight never got a spinoff show. I would watch the fuck out of that.
You know what comic?
@@taegotkashNo clue but there’s an Alpha Flight omnibus that probably contains it!
Fact: Sasquatch in this episode was voiced by the late Harvey Atkin, best known as the voice of King Koopa from the Super Mario cartoons. He was one of the few to perform in all 3 cartoons, namely voicing the very same character.
Cool
And all those Leon's furniture ads!
This team needs a MOVIE!
With any luck, maybe they'll make some type of cameo in Deadpool 3.
oh that would be sweet
maybe even an animated universe!@@fcon2123
Wolverine is a true martial arts expert. Beating alpha flight alone.
Thats what Hugh's Wolverine lacks. His skills and experience in combat. He just becomes a meathead who slash, hacks, heal and repeat
@@joeofmacabre07Hugh did his own training. He worked out hard to be Wolverine.
@@Teatime7771 what kind of training you referring to? Muscle building training or combat training? Because in the first X Men movie, it is obvious that he is lacking on the latter.
@@joeofmacabre07 worked out for each X-men movie he starred in. Not just the first movie.
@@Teatime7771 You can work hard as you want but a miscast would always fall short. Hugh’s not menacing or dangerous enough to convey the character of Wolverine…just a meathead.
This is the type of wolverine I wanna see on screen
with this costume. Maybe you could change the color of it a little to make it more cinematic I wouldn't mind a black and yellow version instead.
Wolverine ALWAYS has to hold back his abilities .It was always frustrating the hell out of him. I think you have a point here . He could never just slash and kill everyone . Huge disadvantage .
Bro he's not going to kill his old team mates.
@@WeAreTheDraiken It was a general comment. About him in the show in general. Not specific to this occasion. This is just one of thousands of scenarios.
The group needs his own TV show or movie.
It would be a great way to introduce the new Wolverine actor before he joins the MCU X-men
He was doing so good he had to save one.
He threatens Wolverine then all of a sudden NO YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THIS😂😂😂😂😂😃😃
ive always Liked Snowbird one of my favourite
And it is a pity that she appeared only once more (a cameo with Shaman - the Native American man - in the Phoenix saga).
See you soon.
Guido.
Wolverine is unstoppable if the show allowed him to go full attack mode. I"m glad they held him back. He really is dangerous.
Tell me you saw this week's episode of '97!?
A nice blend of Uncanny 109, 120, and 121. I liked this episode.
This was a great episode of the series
A live action Alpha Flight and Wolverine movie would be awesome!
Interesting how Wolvie puts Snowbird and Shaman out of action here. :D
they should make a new xmen cartoon series in hd
no the original is too good
In the books they turned Logan and Scott into lovers. I'll stick to the memories I have thanks.
Bro predicted the future
The writer of this episode wrote some Xmen stories in the 1970s, but also wrote some great Batman stories that he also the screenplays to in Batman The Animated Series in the 1990s.
OMG this is so good I read this comic in the 80s and couldn’t believe when they included this story in the animated series, it still looks great
Vindicator: Wolverine, no! You don't have to do this!
Wolverine: Don't *make* me do this!
This show is hilarious. One episode, Wolverine can solo an entire super group, the next he's defeated by Cable with a headlock. Ugh.
That's one thing I hate with marvel , inconsistent with power levels & battles
😂🤣😂
Cable has telekinetic powers.
@@Unadapted That were not on display in the scene. He literally just put Logan in a headlock
@@danmac00 What are you talking about? Yes they were. I just re-watched it on youtube to be sure. Both his telekinetic and telepathic abilities were exhibited in the scene. Cable would put plenty of mutants in a headlock and they wouldn't be able to do got damn thing about it. He'd give his own father, Cyclops a noogie if he wanted to.
Wow, he wiped the floor with his "friends".
One of the only times wolverine ever cuts, a guy or even tries to
As a child I had seen the name Alpha Flight but never knew what it was and then in this quick scene I understood it. This cartoon did a ton of world building for marvel.
I kinda felt Wolverine was really harsh on Shaman…
2:09
Wolverine: is that a long staff in your little bag shaman, or are you just happy to see me.
This is the only episode where they make wolverine look great and showcase his abilities
One of my favorite episodes
I Hope That Alpha Flight, Starjammers And Imperial Guard Movies Will Be In The X Men Series Soon Or MCU! In Each Movie!
Oh god, the accent they gave Northstar and his sister... nobody in US animation knows how to do a good French Canadian accent.
Gambit?!!
@@nlee4566 that's not French Canadian Mon ami 😂 thats like Cajun
Actually, the voice actors on the show ARE Canadian.
@@Madbandit77 Is there an imdb page for this episode? Now I'm curious...
I don't mind that the comics made Northstar gay since I didn't know his sexuality before.
Everyone.....please purchase the Xmen Dvd set, it is truly worth it.
Notice he doesn't really use his claws.
It’s ironic seeing Wolverine being the one tossing everyone around while they carelessly rush in.
They did a really gold job on the Canadian team.
I really want to see Alpha Flight in the MCU and their Wolverine actor with them before the X-men
As an X-Men fan, I hated that they left Alpha Flight out of Wolverine's origins in the live action movies. I also would have loved to have seen an Alpha Flight spin off movie too.
Wolverine Kicked their ASS SINGLE HANDEDLY!
Love this show
And people think Hugh Jackmans portrayal of Wolverine is the best smh
I Love The Alpha Flight Team!
Guardian/Vindicator (James Macdonald Husdon)
Guardian/Vindicator (Heather Mcneil Husdon)
Aurora
Northstar
Shaman
Tailsman
Snowbird
Puck
Marrina
Sasquatch
Box (Rogers Bochs)
He is a weapon. . Wolverine
This only scratched the surface of what First Nation shaman's could do in the Marvel universe. Both Shaman and Forge practiced magic: Shaman could pull a legion of demons out of his messenger bag, while Forge could walk in a battle naked and pull a nearly indestructible suit of armor from thin air.
I was just waiting for the Canadian 'Aye"!
I love how Wolverine finally noticed the entire team only after looking over his shoulder to see them all standing ten feet away, posing for a group photo.
💛💙 you #WOLVERINE 1 Septillion times.
My What If …..What if Wolverine had stayed with Alpha Flight. In Hulk #181 They would’ve fought the Wendigo and Hulk Together . They also Would’ve fought the X-Men together
Great scene 👍👍👍
The only episode where they didnt nerf wolverine
Man I gotta get the full episodes I used to have them on 📼 vhs
Wolverine used pocket sand at 1:29.
Wolverine: "Oh hey James, pretending to be your wife to get me here was a bit of a dick move, bud."
I love how Puck just comes out of nowhere and mildly pops Logan in the back like he got hit by a dodgeball lol
One of the best episodes in the series for Wolverine's actual fighting skills when he isn't nerfed
omg nostalgia overload ;~;
so thats the lil green guy that comes out in marvel war of the gems for the snes.
You want him on the team but you're attacking him lmao makes sense, also medicine man is a cool character
I read these comics back in the 1980's. Whats the season and episode number? Ive been waiting on this my entire life.
Tolle Zeit gewesen
This was the best team/friendemy fight and in Canada's Forrest.
Man I legit can't unsee the 2 batman kissing on wolverines mask😂
Fuck I never heard that and now neither can I
Like the way he says “oouuuooh” at 2:15 when some plants get tossed at him
Seems to me like the writers of this cartoon hated Wolverine, he got his ass kicked in every episode (and that's why I never liked this show too much) but at least in this single episode Wolvie fans got some justice.
Who's watchin this coz of the new preorder Marvel Legends AlphaFlight? 😄
how I wish to see more of Northstar.
what episode is this
Haha, wolverine definitely wandered into the wrong neighbourhood eh?
Why did Wolverine do the medicine men like that🤦🏽♂️🤣
Wolverine's a real badass
I still can't believe Heather betrayed Logan. Outside the xmen he considered her a true friend. Some say he loved her like a sister.
She didn’t know the real situation though
At least Logan still cares about his sister figure
@@rockmanmix6242 true. Think he'll go back home someday so they can talk things out?
@@slanetroyard92 it’s possible
I heard he once trained her when she became vindicator for while
@@rockmanmix6242 cool I truly hope they can repair their friendship.
Shaman would never harm Wolverine, it's imply that when Wolverine was in Alpha Flight he and Shaman were that close.
Outta my way medicine man 🤣
“Still don’t know me real well, do you, Northstar?”
“How about we remedy that…over dinner?”
1:42 bro thats a killing blow.
this man went 1 on 1 with the hulk they clearly was outnumbered
This needs to be in the MCU
I would like to see the new Wolverine actor as part of the group to see what it was like for him before he joined the X-men.
Wolverine: I AM NOT YOUR BUDDY, BUB!
Vindicator: I AM NOT YOUR BUB, GUY!
Damn Logan
Alpha flight is literally king of the hill cast. even got John Redcorn.
Lol. The one thing I hated about these cartoons was how easy it was to defeat some people. Shaman just needed a few branches thrown at him to stop him lol.
0:54 You can send every mutant in Canada after me!
I wonder if Alpha Flight was waiting for the kids at the end of the Logan movie
Considering Fox most likely doesn't have the rights to Alpha Flight I doubt it.
Jordan Herkowski they do beacause they're associate with the X-Men
Department H was probably taking in all the runaway mutants and assigning them to different Flights. (Alpha, Beta, Gamma)
I think it was deadpool. He was the mastermind author behind all the comics x23 was freaking out about in the movie. Cable is there too. Ready to build a new mutant strike team to fuck some shit up in the past, so mutants arent an endangered species.
@@thee_morpheus actually.. there's very few mutants on the team.
Wolverine "PLAYING NICE" WITH HIS OLD TEAM!🤗
Wolverine: ALPHA FLIGHT!
Wolverine left Alpha Flight because most of the members are from eastern Canada (Guaranteed from Ontatio except the north stars whom are Quebec) and Wolverine don't like dealing with fancy pants Canadians from the east because he's a good ol fashioned born and raised Western Canadian AAA Albertan Beef of Adamantium.
Now this can be in the mcu
Wolverine: You can send every mutant in Canada after me. I ain't coming back!!!
This series was almost always about Wolverine being beaten up by others... This fight is a nice exception to that, lol
So, Rob Liefeld pretty much copy/pasted Puck to make Troll from Youngblood, right?
