Classic Motorcycles, my T120 and Capesthorne Hall

  • As my Triumph Bonneville T120 is a modern classic style bike, I decided to introduce it to its forebears at the Classic Car and Motorcycle show at Capesthorne Hall. Although there are many who would snub my new Bonneville (even the official Triumph Owners Club apparently), I think it held its own amongst its older counterparts. The T120's styling is just as well done as any of the bikes there and I get the bonus of not wondering if it'll start each time I go to ride it.
    Based in the heart of Cheshire, Capesthorne Hall is a beautiful setting for a classic bike show. Many of the roads between Macclesfield and Knutsford are perfect for any bike rider; long sweeping bends and not a speed camera in sight. Also, on this day the sun had paid us a visit which seems rare these days, but luckily the event organisers had it covered with plenty of ice-cream vans.
    A truly awesome day on a truly awesome bike.

    Enjoying your videos. Any tips for newbies? How do you deal with wet weather and soreness from longer rides, how long are these rides you show us?

    • @ClassicRides
      @ClassicRides  2 роки тому

      I would say just invest in decent quality gear. A custom made seat with medical gel and memory foam will make longer rides sooo much more comfortable (and make your bike look cooler). Then I’d say just buy the best ‘all rounder’ jacket you can afford. A jacket that will keep you dry and warm is worth spending a bit extra on.
      Most of the videos I’ve done so far have been somewhere between 80- 120 mile rides, some longer ones in there too though. Being ‘bike-fit’ is a thing though, the more you ride, the more you can ride 😁

      Hi David, I haven’t had any trouble with the police yet; but it is a risk as it’s not legal. Although I’ve had plenty of police cars right behind me on the roads so I’m not too worried. I think if you couple the plate with other things like riding badly or making the plate way too small then you might attract a bit more attention. Also I think the type of bike matters, the black & white looks appropriate for my bike, but I think if it were on a GS then it might be different. Also, I carry a standard plate with me so if I do get stopped I can switch it over there and then and hopefully avoid a fine.

    Watching these videos is making me feel guilty about never using my bike! 1300 miles in 4 years 🙈 disgraceful! Next year? Tripling that!

      Haha, yes that is disgraceful! 😂. I hope you were busy riding something equally as good!

      Andrew : Es ist auch ein Problem mit Vergaser u Bremsen ,wenn sie nicht regelmäßig in Bewegung sind , wenigstens 1x im Monat für 1 Stunde , das sollte reichen um Schaden durch zu langes rumstehen zu vermeiden 😉👍 ich wünsche dir noch viele unfallfreie Kilometer und viel Freude in einer schönen Landschaft
