Trivia note: The end says "In memory of Glenn McQueen," who was a Pixar employee who died during the production of this film, so Pixar named the protagonist of their next film Cars (Lightning McQueen) after him.
That "shark" at the beginning is a barracuda, predatory fish and much faster than a shark ;) My love of the ocean came from this movie, i feel the most at home around big bodies of water.
Since the question needed to be asked three times, here's how fish make babies: Girl fish poops out eggs. Boy fish jizzes all over the eggs. Babies are made. You're welcome.
I always think about the cyanide and happiness jurassic park where the lizzardbirdsaur just poops out Hella eggs on the car n hops off, not a fish but same concept
Just a heads up. There is actually a way of answering questions without being condescending. They didn't know how it worked. You did. Give them the answer without talking down to them.
The white birds you thought were pigeons are actually called seagulls. Also, the guy who voiced the swarm of fish that gave Dory and Marlin directions appears in every Pixar film. One of the studio producers or executives considers this guy to be their lucky charm. Because of that they always insist on having him voice at least one character in every film. These characters are usually quick cameos. I can’t remember his name, but if you start paying attention you can usually tell when this guy appears on screen. He has a pretty distinctive voice and is a fun Easter egg to watch out for.
45:20 Fun fact of the day for you guys, those are seagulls, pretty much the pigeon of the sea (just to say, they aren't pigeons) (mostly common around beaches and harbors)
Also the whale in this movie due to its species doesn’t have teeth, instead it has fibrous plates in their mouth which helps them filter out the amount of krill intake and other foods that are apart of a whales diet. But other whales like orcas have teeth😊
Oh boy, one of my favorite childhood movies that simultaneously gave me nightmares for most of it (curse you Darla, you were insanely creepy) still a good movie overall though so good that no matter how much it scared me I couldn't stop watching it
What I love most about this movie is the emotion and love and how all the sea creatures help Marlin and Dory find his son in one way or another and it’s magical
This movie goes hard with the message that disabilities don't define you or your abilities. All his life, Nemo was told by his dad that he can't do things because of his fin and the moment he uses his better judgment and picks the right decision, his dad accuses him immediately of making the wrong decision, of not being ready to function on his own in his FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. He was ready to pull him out of the class regardless of what Nemo was doing because it was too unsafe for his kid (without the freak incident with the divers happening) He was being a bit of an abilist, not on purpose, but he wasn't letting his son, spread his fins, test out his abilities to reach the fullest potential of what he can do, just because he thinks Nemo CAN'T. In the argument before Nemo was taken, he stood up for himself and said he can swim just fine. He hated the side of his father that wouldn't recognize the possibility of his potential and Merlin wasn't listening. I'm so happy to see that come full circle at the end of the movie where Nemo tells his dad that he can do it and Merlin listens.
Nemo’s dad was overprotective- partly because of the damaged fin, yes, but _mostly_ because he lost the entire rest of his family in an extremely traumatic and tragic way. Nemo is all he has left, and he is afraid of history repeating itself. He fears the possibility that at any given moment he could lose him too. (-none of which negates what you said about the message of ableism, but I don’t see it as Merlin’s primary deal, more of a contributing factor)
@@ireneazuaje1006 Nemo did the right thing by not letting daddy behave like that. Later, out of guilt towards his son, Marlin admitted to the turtles that Nemo would not have sailed into the open sea if he had not been so domineering. I mentally said, “If you had given him just a little bit of freedom, none of this would have happened”
@@StoryMing This looks more like Marlin’s desire to take out his complexes on his son than a desire to protect and make him the same coward that he is. But Nemo is good for not letting daddy behave like that. Nemo had a good time in the aquarium; the inhabitants turned out to be closer to him in spirit than his cowardly dad
This was the first movie I ever saw in theaters, 3 years old. It was amazing to watch and also very scary. Probably contributed to my thalassophobia, but still a really good movie.
The fish that killed Coral and the kids is called a Barracuda! Idk but I always start singing the song when I see it😭. And also Dory is a blue Hippo Tang or Blue Tang
I loved the comment from the gentleman on the right when Nemo was struggling in the fish tank and Gill told him to figure it out for himself. I never realized that's how his dad should have been till he said it.
the female lays the eggs and the male sprinkles them with milt. Dory is a blue surgeonfish. It's the same specie of the yellow fish who's obssessed with bubbles. The moment where Dory speaks whale is funnier in the french canadian version (I'm french but I prefer that version)
In 'The Losers', Jensen (Chris Evans' character) sings something from the band Journey. In the French Canadian version, the voice actor sings quite poorly. Maybe on purpose. I'm still giggling about it.
@@a.g.demada5263 That's okay; there are too many movies and only 24 hours in a day. If you do want to see it, it's a good and fun action movie about soldiers who are reported KIA after a failed mission. Chris Evans, Idris Elba, and Zoe Saldana are in it.

Krill-feeding whales have loads of hairs instead of teeth, called baleen. (All hair and teeth are made of the same biologically excreted molecule; keratin) They’re filter feeders, and genuinely don’t like accidentally eating things as big as fish.
When I was a little kid watching this in theater (I was 2 at the time), during the scene where Coral dies, apparently I yelled out into the theater "WHERE'S CORAL?" And everyone laughed. My mom likes telling me that story.
interesting little tidbit, Gill's race is a notorious fish as it is pretty much impossible to keep them as pets because they are extremely picky in both their diet and environment if you cannot satisfy them they will starve themselves to death. Also Crush is voiced by the actual director of the movie.

How do fish produce so many eggs? Fish and amphibians produce a lot of eggs when reproducing because they are fertilized externally; the large amount of eggs laid acts almost like an insurance policy to increase the chances that some will survive. A female fish or amphibian will typically release eggs in the water where males can then fertilize them.
