If you have the whole version, check sorge nel petto. Now this is a magistral aria done by dominique visse, for which the applause were DEFINITELY way too early, both timewise and also atmosphere wise. The audience that night was terrible. And no, it wasn't me. Moo.
(J'aimerais l'entendre).
that's TCE version right ? Will you believe me if I tell you I was THERE ? Ok I'm bragging but it's like one of the only concert i've been to so i can for once :p
James Bowman sings it better. Jaroussky's voice is a little light here. I love him, sometimes he makes me cry, but here that's really not one of his best performances.
My issue is that it seems like it's a hair behind the beat, so it sounds muddled when combined with the strings and the voice - especially at the sixteenth-note parts.
Dont tell me you didnt see that on youtube yet ? You're pulling my leg uh ? Ok just in case : watch?v=bmYRQWYlDbM ;) (et je precise que j'y etais pas hein huhu j'ai juste vu la video sur youtube)
Listening to Jaroussky's "venti, turbini" right after Ewa Podles' almost made me laugh, not because his performance was laughable by any means, but the contrast between the two was so extreme. His voice here is so boyish and fruity and totally lacks power even though his coloratura is fabulous. I heard him live, and he sounded much fuller than he does here. Anyway, I would prefer as Rinaldo someone somewhere in the middle in terms of vocal heft, like Genaux or Daniels.
Yes I agree, the orchestra sucks! Their melismi are not clear and crisp. It sounds like the bassoonist is farting instead of adding a crisp unique sound to the orchestra. The orchestra is just legato, through the whole piece and sloppy, and undynamic.
Grande! Grandissimo!!! Unico!!!!!!
the best venti turbini on youtube
WOW, thanks so much for putting the whole score (all the parts) of this piece! It's much fuller than a piano-vocal score alone :)
fantastico sublime
Well done mate that was fantastic.
2 sentences...for a 4 minute aria...amazing
Cherilyn H typical baroque lol!
The text, translation and more info are in the video description, if you care to read.

I really love his voice, delivery and general charm but, why the vowel change in the opening Ven of Venti??
Thank you for posting this! This was great.
chris....
WOW!

@Erikk91 whereas I just love it as it is :)
you are correct sir!

bellissimo, ma non capisco la "e" di venti che attacca chiusa per diventare aperta nella seconda battuta!

The score says violetta. Is that another way of saying "viola" or is it a diffrent instrument from the baroque perhaps?
It is viola.
it's not quite awful,
that bassoon line is so difficult and this has been taken slightly faster than usual.

hola tienes la partitura de esta obra
Am I missing something about why the bassoonist sounds so "terrible"? I do not hear anything incredibly terrible about it....
My issue is that it seems like it's a hair behind the beat, so it sounds muddled when combined with the strings and the voice - especially at the sixteenth-note parts.

The key is too high - see Bowman who does it lower
Great performance except bassoon.
