Steaky things do surprisingly well in air fryers. If you marinate them in something with a little sugar it develops a really satisfying crust for not much effort.
I'm not a fan of airfriers but, they cycles on/off so not continuous 1700W, that's the max. Also, breakers are there to protect the house wiring from overheating.

Now what is the average power draw of the airfrier and how long does it continously pull 1700W, I don't know. I'm guessing it only pulls the max at the highest heat setting.

Thanks for the fries recipe. Parboiling in the microwave is doable. Never did it because I didn’t want to clean the starchy pot. But a glass bowl is not a problem. Also on your content question from before. I really like short podcasts 15 minutes, give or take 5 minutes. It’s the right length for listening to while cleaning the kitchen after dinner. Hour long podcasts are OK, but you end up either hanging around listening or trying to get back to a good starting place another night. A short Ragusea podcast would be awesome.
If all commercials were like this then I'd never gripe about a commercial again. This was entertaining, educational, and made me re-think how I'm using my air fryer. Considering getting one of these for my mom-in-law, the app integration sounds like it would be a huge help.

Some very coincidental timing, I'm a long time Adam Ragusea fan and I got an air fryer a couple weeks ago too! It's made by a smartphone company and it's surprisingly not as advanced as this one but it has a long list of 100 recipes specifically formulated for this specific air fryer, with photos, exact ingredient amounts and there's even a button that cooks the ingredients for the exact amount of time and temp needed, it helps save a lot of hassle knowing that these exact instructions will make it work 100% One of the coolest things is that the temperature goes all the way down to 40c which means you can make yoghurt in it and it works really well!
What a genius ad for a device like this. Wasn't sure if the cool graph of temperature-over-time is actually a component of the app - that'd probably sell me. I love me some cooking data. Almost bought but stopped only because my wife would kill / divorce me if I bought another small appliance. Of course, the smart money is that I come back to it in a month and buy anyway, lol.
Wrapping the quesadilla in foil, cooking it in the air fryer just to taking it out, unwrapping it and putting it back in to crisp is much more convenient than using a pan!
It is if you live in a place without a burner to heat a pan on. I probably wouldn't use my air fryer for this purpose, because I have a stove in my kitchen. But if I lived in an efficiency situation without a real stove, I'd be psyched to have this option. As it is, I mostly make roasted potatoes in my air fryer, because it's great for that, easier than doing them in oven, and used less energy than heating up the full oven for that purpose.
Adam callung it a fryer was not something I would have ever expected. Otherwise, it's nice to see it advertized with a recipe that's made for it and not acting like it's a deep fryer like it is usually advertized. Thick fries work better than the thin ones in an airfryer, totally agree on that. Last time I had airfryer fries, they were the thick ones, and for once, I've found them edible (still not a fan, but better than the other types).

When I need a new one, it will NOT be a smart one with an app (DUMB APPLIANCES FOREVER), but it's nice to have a cheap recipe for something this elevated in a form appropriate to a single person.
My air fryer is my go to now for anything “dark chicken related”. Thighs or wings. Still trying to perfect a rotisserie style with recipe with the air fryer. Does a job on pork steaks or chops as well. Air fried broccoli is also amazing seasoned with some salt pepper and chopped up garlic if you have some fresh as opposed to just microwaving or boiling it.
I have a two basket ninja air fryer. Got it for christmas a few years ago. Love it, didnt expect to but i do. I never thought to use the probe thermometer with it tho... what temp should the inside of the meat reach with this method(havent ever cooked a steak)?

Tip #1 when making homemade fries. Precook your potatoes. I wash and bake my potatoes the day before. Fridge overnight. Then cut the already cooked potatoes into fries or wedges. Now, since they are already cooked, you are only trying to get the outside crunchy. This can be done with an extremely hot convection oven or extremely hot oil. Oven is healthier. But you need extremely high heat for a short time period. In the oven just a small coating of oil is plenty.
If you get that one, you'll learn QUICKLY that it's too small to really do anything of substance. They do look good on ads disguised as cooking demonstrations though.
Get an actual convection oven if you like the features. Bigger, more power efficient due to the better insulation. And it's not just another trash device taking up space in your cabinets. Table top convection ovens like this one break down far faster. They skimp on the insulation which fries the electronics. You'd be lucky to get three years out of it.
Things like this are definitely made for a certain person in mind. If you are at all interested in cooking it's PROBABLY not for you, but there are definitely people out there who can't afford a whole ass oven or don't have room for it. Is it for me? Definitely not. But I can see why someone would make great use of it.
I picked up an air fryer with a built in temperature probe a few months ago (not this model) and I use it ALL THE TIME. It's super handy, but I refuse to connect it to my wifi or install the associated app on principle.

Make sure you use this fryer in the 20A kitchen outlets only, 1700W is beyond the recommended 1500W (80% load) limit for a standard 15A outlet.

Things like this are definitely made for a certain person in mind. If you are at all interested in cooking it's PROBABLY not for you, but there are definitely people out there who can't afford a whole ass oven or don't have room for it.
Is it for me? Definitely not. But I can see why someone would make great use of it.

I picked up an air fryer with a built in temperature probe a few months ago (not this model) and I use it ALL THE TIME. It's super handy, but I refuse to connect it to my wifi or install the associated app on principle.
