Classic Colbert so much funnier than current Colbert
Getting upset over Colbert for saying something "insensitive" is the equivalent of getting upset at theOnion for not reporting authentic news.
I miss this version of Colbert. I don't know if it's the writing team or the network's unwillingness to take risks with their jokes but Colbert's current stint on the Late Show seems really bland by comparison
I miss the Colbert Report...
I miss when Colbert did satire.
I Miss Old Colbert...
Watching this years later, I'm reminded of how this show was so full of layers of satire, that your own intelligence had to come online in order to follow it's comedic brilliance. And honestly, I miss Stephen playing this character who happened to have his same name.
I'm Asian and I found this hilarious. Seriously how do people who get offended by jokes have friends?
Man the days with the daily show and Colbert report, we had no idea we how privileged we were
I miss this Colbert
"I was canceled, for 3 days.
"People tell me I'm white, and I believe them because I just spent the last 6 minutes explaining how I'm not a racist"
My god, an Asian American wrote a book called "In Defense of Internment" and then went on to rage about someone making a joke about Asians. hahahaha!
"To find out what happened to me on the internet, we turn to the TV"
I love that he managed to tell people to calm their shit AND insult CNN all in one segment. lol
"People tell me I'm white and I believe them, because I just devoted six minutes to explaining how I'm not a racist... and that is about the whitest thing you can do." LMAO That was good
If those people had any sense, they'd know he was actually
What stands out now is how he made a point to clearly denounce the online harassment of his own critic in no uncertain terms. The man has always had class.
Colbert is the master of making douchbaggery funny, and I mean that in the best way possible. Comparing himself to Jesus at the end, amid all of the controversy surrounding him at the time, was genius. It was a great way of saying "fuck off" to the haters
This clip was just a 7 minute burn on American media.
