The original song is composed by Michel Berger and written by Luc Plamondon in 1978 for the rock opera Starmania. The song was performed for the first time by Daniel Balavoine, then taken over by Norman Groulx, Renaud Hantson, Bruno Pelletier, Grégory Lemarchal, Daniel Popovic, Laurent Bàn and Dimash Qudaibergen. The version of Piet Arion is produced, arranged and mixed by David Gerd Ogris.

I love Dimash. I'm one of his biggest fans. his vocal technique is incredible. he inspires so many singers, and me as well.
I think we all would like to sing like Dimash, but that is not possible. we can console each other by reminding ourselves, everyone of us is unique in their own way!
I love this song and it's about what sense we have on this planet. I learned French for this song and I tried to do my best and to make my own interpretation of it.
I did not sing the song to be compared to Dimash. Dimash is my idol and he will always be the best in what he does! His spirit is a warm-hearted soul, fighting for peace and love!

Dimash is a product of intensive training and I guess sacrifice over many years, the result is astonishing..
Piet has similar skills but without the years of hard work...I like the "guy next door" vibe about him, down to earth, good honest caring man...I think Dimash is fantastic, however, this man is as good, if not better, in that he is accessible to his fans..

Dimash sang to emphasize what the "earthling" felt. Piet's angelic voice best described the whole devasted scene.

The passagio in this singer is not as good as Dimash. It isn’t about hitting a note, but of how the voice travel through his singing apparatus. With more practice he could do it for this song. He has to put more emotion into the song.

I'm french and I think both gregory and daniel's version are ''meh'' at best. They neither have the vocal range nor the voice to perform it like it was meant to. There are tons of videos out there easily outperforming them, being first to interpret it doesn't make it good.

Dimash is very respectful to other people and I think he would be very ashamed if he knew that we as his fans are disrespectful of others. Even if we do not like this version, we should not offend this young man, who himself is a fan of Dimash.I want to be honest, I will always love Dimash more than other singers, simply because he has so much charisma that makes him so unique. I’ve listened to this song in Dimash’s manner a lot of times and thought nobody can sing better. But man that whistle at the end! My skin had goosebumps all over! Your version is definitely worthy of attention.
By making comparisons, you can miss the best of what someone has to give. It's music, not an Olympian event to find the fastest or best, it's to be enjoyed, loved and appreciated by all who get the chance to find such wonderful singers. It has been my joy to find Piet by chance when looking up Dimash, and my life is all the richer for that. I am so blessed.

Hello, i'm french and i have to congratz you !! I understand every word you sing in french and your voice is so beautifull, extraordinary magnificent... That's so incredible. Bravo ! Your version (much more sensitive, soft and powerfull too, and deeper version) is my favorite after the Balavoine's version... Bravissimo for your angel's voice.

The Dimash fans trashing Piet are a terrible look for Dimash’s fanbase as a whole. I say this as a Dimash fan myself. Both artists’ renditions are incredible. This cover isn’t a comparison or imitation; Piet sang it in honor of Dimash because Piet was clearly inspired by Dimash’s version. That’s a massive compliment. Additionally, Piet included many original changes of his own to differentiate himself and make it his own style. If you don’t see it this way, you need to grow up.
Also - Dimash fans - please take 10 seconds to read Piet’s pinned comment where he talks about Dimash. If you still have anything bad to say after that, try thinking about how outside people view you, a representative of the Dimash fanbase. It’s really not a good look for you to act bitter and rude when not warranted.

@@ilsindacodilignano7314 you can hear it through basically the entire song but if you want an easy to see example 3:09-3:14 and the super high notes, he is nowhere near able to hit them 100% of what you hear there is autotune.
@@kekkek7888 ok, maybe there is auto tune in a copple of high notes (and i'm not sure about that), but there are only 2 moments when he sings high notes "with auto tune" so you can't say " tonne of autotune"

For those who are comparing Piet with Dimash, please read Piet's description and his dedication to his idol. Dimash's version was fireworks. Arion's was vanilla ice cream with a blend of mocha and a bit of nuts underneath. Dimash sang like a superhuman alien or the entire human race crying out in distress . Arion sang like an angel lamenting the distress of the human race. It's wonderful that amazing phenomena can occur in a rich diversity of colors and don't just come in one monotone. ❤

I never saw your youtube channel so I didn't know what to expect on a cover of my favourite singer. I saw the title and I thought: No way, he's not gonna make it sound that good.
But you did and the best part is that you didn't try to sing like Dimash, you did your own version of the song and showed your colors through that amazing high note. I never comment but I felt like I needed to congratulate you cause that must have been hard work to do. I'm speechless and Dimash is proud.
