Quand ce Monsieur a quitté la dame, s'est-il préoccupé du bien-être simplement matériel de ses enfants ? A-t-il pourvu à leur entretien? Je suis resté bloqué sur le fait qu'il reconnaissait s'être mal comporté avec elle ce qui m'a fait perdre de vue que c'est elle qui l'a quitté et non lui. Sa démarche télé n'en reste pas moins maladroite parce que si elle voulait revenir elle aurait choisi les moments où ils se sont parlé chez ses parents pour lui manifester son intérêt. A sa place j'aurais tâté le terrain par une invitation discrète voire via un ami (ou une amie) commun plutôt que de le faire si brutalement à la télé. Mais je reconnais avoir été hâtif en le jugeant si mal.

True - it was hard to see, but from just watching his body language - he seemed to be sitting back, reclining. It felt insincere, plus he began to interrupt and tone changed to argumentative - for example not letting her finish sentences and when she spoke of the pain she and the kids experienced there was a start of 'well, but you .....'. She is a young very beautiful woman who clearly thought a lot about what SHE and kids need right now. He didn't even ask why she didn't answer his advances. Lastly - she had an idea of who it may be and said statement about leaving the past behind. It was a very clear message even before segment started.

That said, narcissism and entitlement generally clash with claims of love and reconciliation. Actions speak louder than words and he's failing to accept anything that does not fit his narrative as well as timeline. Domestic neglect especially when children are concerned is a type of domestic abuse which sends ripples through entire extended families. I hope that since this segment was aired this woman found stability and support on her terms. (P.S. That said, yes, there are particular cultures which would find his behavior acceptable. TRADITIONAL French is not one of them.)
I totally understand I've been there and gave him 20 years of my life and still it wasn't good enough for him. I feel sorry for the children. I can understand this woman's decision but the children needs their father if he's willing to do what he says this time. This father should give financial support and be allowed visitation to the children. He needs to do this regardless. I feel sorry for the children. I can understand this woman's decision but the children needs their father if he's willing to do what he says this time. This father should give financial support and be allowed visitation to the children. He needs to do this regardless.
