This is easily the most positive amazing thing I've watched in my lifetime. (9/11 was the worst) I was really hopeful, but skeptical of their chance of success with this catch, but wow they keep delivering the scifi future.

Well I wouldn’t get that hasty. I certainly believe that in my later years I’ll see on the news that we’ve gotten mankind to mars, but the atmosphere there is still inhospitable, any oxygen we could make from elements in situ would never be of a quantity great enough to sustain anything beyond limited professional missions, in small temporary-stay habitats. Setting up society there is a bit impractical even for the extended future.
I don’t deny autonomous vehicles are safer or will be the future. I just wish United States had better public transport infrastructure and pedestrian friendly cities instead of relying on cars and all that

@@enoughofthis - it's got to be a lot faster terminal velocity than that. Ship has a terminal velocity of about that amount in the belly flop orientation. Super Heavy is coming in end first

This flight retired most of the risk for Starship reusability. We officially entered a new Space Era with a system that will decrease costs by several orders of magnitude and allow Humanity to expand to the Solar system, making us the first species (maybe in the entire galaxy, or even the Universe) to become multi-planetary!

If it was really those values, that is about 10 g's. Not sure what the latency was with the on-screen telemetry
