Critique / review of Part 1
Every week we Upload 2 videos from series of La Linea.
I have memories of this from when I was a very small child. I'm glad to see that it actually existed and wasn't some part of my warped imagination.
same
Ah...
I loved it to and I still do when I’m sad bam mr line
I have those too
Three words....Great Space Coaster
Rest in peace the man who had the idea for such a amazing style of art
Now the voice followed him. Carlo Bonomi who also voiced all of Pingu for several seasons died.
"during its first four seasons produced between 1990 and 2000, where Bonomi voiced all the characters without a script. His grammelot was originally intended to be a parody of the Milanese dialect, and it was inspired by three abstract languages traditionally used by clowns in France and Italy."
I am pretty sure its Italian footballer directing this cartoon. That is what I was told. I do not spread disinformation.
Sweden has a live version of this show, Knut på linjen, sounds quite fun 😂. This show in Sweden is called Linus på linjen, they just change the first name. The guy playing Knut på linjen is also part of a group called "galenskaparns" with is Swedish version of Monty Python 😅
Rip to the voice actor... Carlo Bonomi(1937-2022). Who was also the original voice actor of "Pingu" :(
I noticed the similarity....
Quick question tho
What language was he speaking here
Like what country was he from ?
Italy ?
@@ahmadmalaki8364It's just gibberish, though you can occasionally grasp some real words that are borrowed from several real languages.
oh that makes TOTAL sense
@@YngvarfoI think it’s just Italian
Today's 3D animation can't hold a candle to such a simple, yet enjoyable, concept.
3d: you can do insane visuals that amaze you once
2d: you can make a simple line interesting and it will amaze you forever
People these days can't just say something is good, it has to be better than something else, even if the comparison is 100% fucking meaningless. It bugs me.
@@Syrange13 This!
After aaaall these years I FINALLY found this!! I remember this over 40 something years ago as a little 4 or 5 year old. I loved this so much. I thought the hand was such a cool idea interacting with the character. Wow. Just wow!
OMG! I haven't seen this cartoon in almost 30 years! I used to live in a town northwest of Novi, Michigan, which is just outside of Detroit. Back then, the 1980s, we were able to pick up the tv stations over in Ontario, Canada. Channel 9 was crystal clear and a few others were marginal, but could be picked up with an outdoor antenna, which is what we had (sorry, no cable tv). If I recall, channel 9 aired a cartoon block that featured La Linea, Pink Panther, the Inspector (Clouseau), Babar and the Raccoons on Friday or Saturday evening.
Exactly .. strangely here in germany too. Good old days when world was still ok :)
In our country a tv channel still shows it some time to time
You’re absolutely right. I grew up in Detroit during the same era. Back when tv used to go off the air for a few hours at night. Remember that? 😅😂
@@KristopherLamont Yes, I do. I used to live in Walled Lake, near North Pontiac Trail and Welch Rd in the 1980's. Back then, Channel 2 was a CBS affiliate, channel 4 WDIV (NBC) still, Channel 7 WXYZ-TV (ABC) still, channel 9 TV Ontario (CBC), 20 was a FOX affiliate, 32 and 54 were Ontario, too. Channel 50 WKBD (FOX) and 56 was a PBS affiliate; I don't remember the callsign for 56.
Most of those stations went off air before midnight, but some stayed on until 2am, before shutting down for the night. Of course, Saturday mornings, I'd awake around 5 or 5:30 to watch some stations come back on air, with the test pattern on screen. 😁
@@minty_Joe Those were certainly the days!
Omg! I found it again me and my Dad always watched this together when I was child I’m so happy I found it again :D 💙
🥺
Awww same! i love this cartoon! :)

And so do I
You know do rules so do i
This is pure genius. Simple, elegant, just a pen, a line and an idea.
My brother and I watched this cartoon when we were little. Often our mother joined us… happy days.
So clever, I used to see it almost every day as a child, I think we were picking this from Luxembourg RTL, Genius people need no artifacts. Thanks to his creator and to the producer who made it so widely known. My kids were talking about things funny they saw on youtube and my wife said something about a little man on a string cartoon she was watching on South African TV as child, when I did the voice and the humming singing she said
Oh my!!! It has been ages since I've seen this cartoon!!! Used to watched when I was q child ,before bedtime. That was the sign to go to bed after. Love it.
Simply the best! I've seen it in the late 1970's in TV. With my dad, who would have his 94. birthday today. RIP dad...
Minimalist genius! i watched this as a very small child in Poland.
“La linea” was created by the Italian cartoonist Osvaldo Cavandoli in 1969
Well actually, It was created in 1971
@@LaraTheKlaymenFan No, this is an episode from the Carosello in 1969 ua-cam.com/video/LFOdC9UMka0/v-deo.htmlsi=Uqw3f8CpClZF1qAs
My father made me watch these when I was a kid and I used to laugh a lot. Greetings from Turkey
Pingu da cok iyiydi 💘
@@maksimopolpo evet ya sifjwodjsox
They showed it in Norway too when I was a child. My dad, brother and me used to laugh our heads off from this, so fun😅

Oh my god i found it. my teacher used to show us these videos in class around 8 years ago. its 3 am and i got slapped in the face with a vague memory of a line man on a blue background. i can sleep well now knowing i found this gem.
I had one where Benny Hill played a wino and danced with a girl who came out of a poster.
The song. It stuck in there 35 years until I heard it on Man on Wire, a doc about the guy who tightrope walked on the WTC in 1974. The photo was of him sitting on the WTC roof.
To the tune of Eric Satie: Gymnopedie.
I almost fell off my chair frantic to find it in the credits. Something I thought was lost forever.
The kid show The Great Space Coaster used to show these. The black guy would pull out this little tv box, and show all these different cartoons. La Linea was one of those cartoons.
I remember when I was like 4 watching this, now I'm 14 and I plan on rewatching all the videos about this guy😩✌️
Pixar's Soul brought me here! This inspired the Jerries' design by the way
THAT'S WHY I THOUGHT THEY LOOKED SIMILAR
Okay, my mind is officially blown! I loved these cartoons when they aired on GREAT SPACE COASTER, and the boffins at PIXAR were fans too? Cool!!!
Me too
I remember watching la Linea first in a French VHS tape made for children with different other cartoons and shows, we bought the tape when I was 5 years old in the mid 90s. And then on France 5 they aired la Linea on les Zouzous and Midi les zouzous for a long while up until the mid 2000s. Good times
Fantastic! Feel like I'm 12 years old again.
When I was a kid, I would watch a program called The Great Space Coaster which included episodes of this series. Long forgotten memories of that brought me here. I'm glad to have discovered these once again.
The pingu wikipedia page brought me here, they’re speaking penguinese in this as it was the same voice actor, Carlo Bonomi for both with his same “language of noises” and honestly it’s pretty fun watching this with that in mind
La Linea came before Pingu so it should be called La-Lineanese
Yah but i can say to you that sometimes in yhe "language of noises" of La Linea you can clearly ear very bad italian words, crippled but still understandable.
Funny ! Even though you can't understand what he's saying, it's easy to guess by his gestures and tone of voice ! :D
I used to watch him through my dad's dvd's in the year 2009 when I was 5 years old, great memories.
Omg omg omg omg omg i found it omg omg omg i found it bro this is what i grew up with my dad would put this on my pc and i would watch it for HOURS
Are we related?
bro my dad did that with us too
Anyone else remember this series as being a regular short played in The Great Space Coaster?
"Always remember, no gnews is good gnews with Gary Gnu!"
Yep the black guy shown them on his little magic tv box.
I was wondering where I would have seen this.
I'm not even an adult, but I know every songs of the series from the 000 notations to the 300 ones.
Also I like how the color of the background changes when the character's emotion changes.
So amazing.
And I still get a smile from watching these.
Man i used to watch this every morning before school it took my street and social anxiety away 😭😭😭 R.I.P legends who created it
*Nostalgia doing its' job 🔥*
i remember this as an 80s kid in south africa....we didnt know what the heck he was saying but we laughed so much it didnt matter. aahhh childhood memories...
Same. Even tried to see if I can Google Translate it somehow in Afrikaans....
@@saskiasnyman1630 The cartoon is italian and i can confirm that he talks a non existing language that mocks the italian sounding.
Greetings from ZAF
Loved this as a kid. Me and my dad laughed a lot at it.
I love to watched it when I was little and now I remembered and was looking for it. 😂
Still loving it! 🥰
It's been 10 year omfg.....I remember watching these for hours when I was a kid, ah to just go back to those times...
Wow! First view in 30+ years! Memories!!
This guy always made me laugh. Hahaha. His laugh and tantrums and misfortunes! lol
A few nights ago this cartoon popped into my head, and I've tried so much to find it, but I couldn't. I concluded that it didn't exist and it was probably a fever dream. Until UA-cam put this on my recommend page.
Well times when TV was worth watching, pure entertainment.
This cartoon La Linea, is really funny, the animation is in constant contact with the designer
Watched this as a kid here in canada in the 80s 90s. Better than the 3d crap they have today.
So glad finally found the time to find this!! So it wasn't just my childhood imagination!! lol *grins*
O rany, szukałam tego kilka lat i w końcu znalazłam!
na bialo czarnym ekranie tak? ;-) Niedziela o 12 pm na TVP 2

Thank you for sharing these. Classic on TV Ontario (TVO); I didn't even remember these until I came across a line drawing game called PhilGood. It was very creative at the time and funny for a child in the 80's. Cheers and best of wishes to you.
This is a real cartoon. No agenda. Just sheer amusement.
Still love it after so many years ❤️ i am 62 💪
I'm so glad I found this, it's been so long since I saw it last, and the next generation is completely oblivious to it.
Absolutely a work of art 👏.
this is my CHILDHOOD
I loved watching this as a child…def a GenX cartoon. ❤️
I showed this to my three year old daughter and she asks for this instead of Paw Patrol.
Core memory unlocked!
my dad showed me this like 10 years ago and i just remembered it
I have a lot of memories of this cartoon when I was a kid، wish I could go back to my childhood;-)
oh my God, I remember watching this as a child
This was massive in Yugoslavia 😀
A kako se bese zvalo?
One of the best animated series ever✊🏽 good old days man
Childhood :)
Hehe, funny line guy (favorite animation ever and probably the best)
Lovely memories - watching this now and smiling
Oh my god this was my child hood cartoon i remember my dad would buy the CDs and i would always watch them
I'm laughing so hard 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
So cute to see this animation since 40 years
This would make a great interactive Steam game, where you play as the Hand trying to keep the guy going through his routine.
Cannot wait to show this to my kids just like my father showed it to me
I remember having a DVD full with the episodes of this mystical series
R.I.P Carlo Bloom ❤️🙏🏻
I remember watching this as a child in my grand parents house. This character used to crack me up laughing. .Now here I am with kids on my own. I showed it to them and one took to it and is as amused as I was and still am
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh god I watched this cartoon in our tv in Soran city or Kurdistan
None of us understood what he said but the animation and visuals was enough for all of us to understand what the. Episodes where about and what he wanted to do such a genius cartoon
Rip to voice actor
Well he speaks no real language, ot is gibberish with some Italian words and of course Italian hand gestures
La Linea looking at Soul's Jerries: I raised those guys!
And we are talking about him on Thanksgiving again :)
This guy, pingu and Dragon ball z
Holy shit the nostalgia hit hard
it was a religious watching, for my generation that grew in former Yugoslavia 7:15 pm time slot just before the main news!
does anyone remember a similar animated short from the 90s, it was like an origami penguin/crane that morphed around by unfolding then refolding. Stop motion with paper. PLEASE
Go to r/tipofmytounge
This is my first time watching this and I love it it’s so funny :P
I miss these days 😔😂
After all these years... I found it
This was a prototype version of pingu
RIP Carlo
Einzigartige, absolut super!
I loved this cartoon when i was around 5-6 i had in on DVD Disc and was also trying to draw something similar to this lol
La Liena sounds like Elmo and Donald Duck
i rememebr around 2016 i went to my online friend's house for the first time and this was playing on the tv, i was interested in it (mainly because there was nothing to do) and for years i couldn't figure out the name for the life of mine and i knew it began with "la" but i found it after coming from "la luna" which was a pixar short film, really lovely series
So schön!! Habe ich als Kind immer im Fernsehen gesehen.... heute gibt es leider nur noch geistlosen Käse.
Brings back good memories :~)
Je me souviens avoir vu ça sur un DVD quand j'étais kid et là j'étais triste parce que le disque était scrappé c'était trop drôle et amusant.
J'adore, J'adore, j'adore et pis c'tout !!!
This, this was my childhood
i used to watch this as a kid
I watched this as a kid probably on TVO or CBC here in Canada
Was this an actual language or just gibberish?
It took me hours to find this. It just popped in my head. 😂😂😂
I always thought it was as well lol! Oh and right...it is gibberish!
Carlo Bononi (the voice of Pingu) brought me here
This was in the back of my mind, until now
Great times
so much good memories💔
My childhood
Line on the loose 🏅🎤
I never watched this as a kid, but I'm glad I found it now. Shit's funny!
