- Alexandre studied circus performance at the National Circus School in Montreal, specializing in Cyr wheel and Russian Cradle. Together with his partner Émilie Fournier, they performed as the aerial duo Chilly & Fly for almost a decade. Their outstanding skills and expertise led them to receive the Silver Clown at the 41st Festival International du Cirque de Monte Carlo, one of the most esteemed recognitions in the circus world.
While some may consider the Cyr wheel a secondary act, Alexandre's mastery of the discipline sets him apart. Since embarking on his journey in 2007, when the discipline was still in its early stages, Alexandre dedicated years to researching and polishing his craft on the Cyr wheel. Throughout his career, he has toured internationally, captivating audiences with both his Cyr wheel and Russian Cradle performances. From bustling city streets to enchanting circus big tops and glamorous opera houses, Alexandre has graced stages of all kinds.
Alexandre's approach to the Cyr wheel is truly unique, aiming to establish a symbiotic relationship between himself and the prop, resulting in captivating and dramatically impactful performances. As an early adopter of the Cyr wheel, he continuously pushes the boundaries, expanding his vocabulary and exploring new creative possibilities with innovative stage technology.
His ability to evoke intense emotions through his performances has garnered him numerous accolades at prestigious festivals and popular TV shows around the globe. Most recently, Alexandre was honored with the Switzerland Golden Artistika 2023 for his exceptional solo performance on the LED wheel-a culmination of his ten years of development and dedication to perfecting this act.

The trouble with this is there would need to be set moves to be judged and also a lot of the creativity that sets a performer apart would likely not be allowed, along with music. It sounds nice in theory, but they would also find a way to ruin it.

I like the story told in this performance. It is almost as if the character that is being portrayed wants to leave the circle but when he does he loses his grace and can't function without being within the ring. He comes to the realization that he simply can't exist without being within the Cyr and is banished to forever be within the ring forever looking at the world as it passes by.

Most of what you on this video is choreograph piece that i work on for 2 years. But let say in a cyr wheel their always a part of freestyling. That why it so cool! ;)

I am awestruck! I've seen the performances with the Cyr wheel before, but the fluidity and sheer beauty of this performance blew my mind. For lack of a better word, this performance, on all fronts, was absolutely perfect.
