  • Input: yellow pulley of D1 diameter.
    Output: pink pulley of D2 diameter. D1 = 2*D2
    So the output speed is twice the input speed.
    The input and output shafts are perpendicular to each other.
    The orange idler pulleys guide the black round belt between the input and output pulleys and prevent the belt from leaving the pulleys.
    Move the blue pulley bracket up to tension the belt. Use the green bolt to clamp the bracket after adjustment.

    great and unique! i wonder if it will do well in high torque machine like whats the % chance the belt will slip out in this kind of design?

    If you replace the green bolt 0:07 with a force sensor, you get a good functional torque-sensor for the yellow wheel

    Hello, I have tried and failed to find an effective way to do create this with toothed belts(not recently). Do you know of a way to find the spacing of everything for this same task with toothed belts?

      Toothed belts can not be used for this drive.

    Hello, Mr. Thang. You are a teacher to all mechanical engineering people. I really respect and appreciate it. I have a question. I wonder how you design a link or something. I want to make a link to fit the movement I want, but it is often difficult to know how to start. Is there any step-by-step rule when designing a link?

      There are two problems to study a mechanism: kinematic analysis and kinematic synthesis.
      Kinematic analysis is used to find the range of movement for a given mechanism.
      Kinematic synthesis is used to design a mechanism for a desired range of motion.
      Your question concerns kinematic synthesis that is a difficult issue.
      In general, the calculation is complicated and for most cases impossible.
      A practical way is: choose the link that provides similar motion to the desired motion. Then use "Try and Adjust" method for finding the solution.

      @@thang010146 Wow. 5 years ago. Congratulations. Your drawing is more understandable, I understood it immediately when I first watched it. The gear lever-like lever on the central axis of the mechanism was not visible in other animations or the drawings were too complex. For this reason, I did not understand how the direction of water flow was changed. Thank you very much for the information, a very useful and understandable animation.

      Đã xem và hiểu các chuyển động cần có của máy nhưng cách truyền động thì video không cho thấy rõ.
      Có thể thiết kế một máy có chức năng như vậy nhưng với cơ cấu tryền động khác, sợ không tốt bằng nguyên mẫu.

      Couldn’t you just place the lower two pulleys on a slight inclination outwards and then remove the upper two?

      Yes. However, it increases the risk of the belt slipping off the pulley.

      Not 10k, but if you allow then surely I can make a 4 seater vehicle in 20k, dough kneader(maida mixer) in 25k, mini tractor in 30k.
