Dude this guide is awesome, all the details are exactly what I want from a strategy guide, especially for Statice annoying dartboard. Great job and thank you!
this guide is awesome! thanks for explaining it so well, I feel like I finally understood the last boss dart mech! gonna send to my group so they can understand it better too! Thanks for the guide! 🙏🏻
Hi! Quick q: I've watched a lot of guides that mention this "clockwise/counter clockwise priority system" but nobody has yet explained what this exactly means. I understand the tank takes the first ad that works for them clockwise from the north but I don't understand what that means for everyone else.
Good question! It is essentially the prio system or p8s snakes, but I understand not everyone is familiar with that strategy. So, for this mechanic you'll have the crabs spawn on A/B/C/D (cardinals), and you have color matching markers for it ccw of them (1 is ccw of A, 4 is ccw of D, etc.) What party finder does here, is they do the priority system of "cw THMR ccw", which means that the tank and healer will look CW from A and take the first crab that matches their debuff, while the dps will look CCW from D and take their first crab that matches their debuff. This means that tanks will always have their crab on either A, B, or C marker, but never on D, while the healer might need to adjust to the tank if they have the same debuff as the tank, and therefore going to the 2nd crab that is CW from A. Same goes for the ranged and melee. The ranged will always take the first crab CCW from D, meaning they'll never have the crab on A, while the melee might have to adjust for the ranged in case they both have the same debuff. This is all combined into the "THMR" tactic (as in imgur.com/bmqeimD). Now, once you find your crab you want to make sure that you're on the color marker that matches the color marker of the crab (so 1 and A, 2 and B, 3 and C, and 4 and D). Then once the spread debuff expires you'll move onto the crab to bait the proximity cleave (beware of the N/S or E/W or corner safe spots from the crystal cleaves). Hope that helped!
Thanks for the great guide. Just wanted to add that my group built on your way to do Static Dart 2 and came up with a slightly different strat that helped resolved the darts: The big eye opener was that the chains debuff actually has a really charitable timer on it to resolve (like 11 seconds or so between the darts resolving and the chains needing to be broken), so you can focus on the enum/darts mechanic first rather than moving E/W to split the chains immediately. We had our enum pair go relative north (like you had in your guide) and then the DPS focus on moving on the relative SE color pair (based on the pair of colors covered by the AoE marker at the start) and the Support on the relative SW pair. This allows the chained players to duck behind the rotating fires easily and wait on the only "safe" color of their pairs in their respective corner. The enum pair can use this to check the debuffs on the group - if a chained dps has a dart debuff, they nudge to the relative West of their color pair, and if the chained support has a dart debuff, they nudge instead to the relative East of their color pair. After the darts resolve, you can have one of the chained support/dps rotate along the edge of the arena opposite of their chain partner to break the chain. We found using this way, we didn't have to rely on call outs to coordinate and resolve darts.
I'm unsure whether you can break chains after the aoe's go off, but I'll make sure to test this! Very useful info, thanks :D. I do think that this strat won't allow for a lot of uptime however since you'd still have to break chains after the aoe's and darts have gone off. If both tank and melee dps are tethered then it's better to resolve chains asap so that the melee can come back to the tank where the boss is located.
who sees yellow and not green? I thought something was off with his colours, but it might be the light playing tricks when some ppl see green and some yellow
Regarding Fireworks+Present box. For the star pattern its a lot easier to have the chains run parallel to the tether between the point and bottom left/right bombs (Depending on which side the claws are going). That then puts them directly on their safespot and the chain that is running south isn't forced to move more than necessary. Wether claws want to take the East or West safespot is also easy to find by the direction the point of the star is facing:- If the point is on the West side of the arena. Claws go east. If the point is on the east side of the Arena. Claws go west.
Thanks for the update! This is indeed another good way to find the safespot. We figured this out ourselves a couple days after this guide was made but as the previous method could still be used as well I thought I wouldn't need to update it. Thank you for commenting it though, you explained it really well :D
38:44 The person that needs to soak 3 times can actually just sit still at number 4's starting position. They don't have to start on the other side. 2 and 3 are afking pretty much lol.
Thank you for watching! Let me know if you have any questions :D UPDATE: ff14.toolboxgaming.space/?id=098393289409961&preview=1 Has been made for First mechanic of First boss! Feel free to check it out :D Also: here's an image for PF strats on EU server: i.imgur.com/bmqeimD.png. Might be of use :) More raidplans will be cooked for easier strat usage (especially on first boss), so please stay tuned for those!
Good point! that mechanic has many ways to be solved and that one is indeed an efficient one. I'll make sure to implement it in the raidplan :D. Here's the toolbox for it: ff14.toolboxgaming.space/?id=098393289409961&preview=1
Any tips on the rotations on second boss? I know the mechanic and all but rotating on a controller isn't easy. Was thinking about maybe switching to standard instead of legacy?
For analysis you can continuously spin your camera around while facing yourself in such a way that you have the safespot on the corect side of the explodinng orb. I'm not sure how this would work on controller but it's similar to facing away from a boss while continuously using abilities that direct your gaze towards the boss. It might take some getting used to but it can be quite consistent (on standard movement at least, not sure about legacy). Aside from that for planar tactics it's probably best to take some more downtime to align properly since you have a lot of time. Hopefully that helps a bit :)
This macro will face your character towards your cameras facing. It makes it a lot easier. Just be aware if you're hardcasting and not in slide cast window it will interrupt your cast. /mlock /merror off /automove on /automove off
It indeed is. I should have been more thorough with my explanations for it, since it's considereed to be the hardest boss out of the three. My apologies, I'll take care to not be as confusing with the explanations in the future. Lmk if you have any questions ofc!
This guide may not work for everyone, it's definitely poorly edited cuz I wanted to get it out asap, but it still helped some people understand the fights and that's what the video was meant for :D. If it doesn't work for you then I'd love to know what would :)
@@Pseudonyme_inconnuI think you might be asking too much for less than week 1 guide of 3 bosses, this gets the job done for week 1/2, I can say I cleared in good part thanks to this video.
@@Pseudonyme_inconnu These are week 1 strat vids, you seriously cannot expect animated slides for mechanics lmao. Even then the video showcases strats well enough that you can pick up on them. Hector's guides has made yall too dependent on pretty powerpoint animations that you've become incapable of seeing mechanics play out from POVs.
I'm gonna be real this guide is terrible compared to Kobe's - and not just on a production level (animated graphs/diagrams/etc), but on an explanation level too - "if this square is safe and this is one over then that means I'll have to get pushed over here and this will get pushed over there so I will be safe". Kobe outlines a much simpler way of solving the mechanic in your head
I made this guide a couple days after the criterion got released. My intention with these guides is to provide clarity on mechanics as fast as possible, all bosses included, so that people who are progging the fight on week 1 can get their clears. Naturally it will fall short on visual guidance compared to guides like Kobe, but there are also people who prefer POV guides over hector-style guides like Kobe. If you prefer Kobe's video then feel free to follow his guides instead. He mostly uses my strategies anyways, just adjusted to NA priorities.
Dude this guide is awesome, all the details are exactly what I want from a strategy guide, especially for Statice annoying dartboard. Great job and thank you!
Glad I could help!
I've seen a bunch of raidplans and toolboxes and whatnot but the way you explain Boss 3 is what really helped me.
Thanks a lot, friend!
Glad it could be of use! Good luck in getting the dub :)

Yep it doesn't work, if you're still tethered the aoe will be shared amongst the two chained people, cause a dmg down and instakill them.
Ah okay, thanks for testing that out. I'm not sure how we got through it clean then, but we may have got lucky somehow.

Hahaha I wasn't sure at first either. I've decided on green since it matches the healer's role colour, but both can work I guess.
Great guide man! Really helped me figure out the mechs on Boss 3. Cheers!
