this music is more than music, bonobo should get an international award for all these epic tracks he made, i'm sure it made a lot of people change deep inside. taking this straight into the soul
What's wild is that the version on Spotify (and Tidal, Apple, etc.) all used to be this version, for literally years. And then one day, they all got replaced by the slow tempo version. I personally dislike that version a lot, so I was pretty irritated when it got swapped out.
I was getting crazy because five minutes ago, after a long period, I listened to the Spotify version and I noticed that it was low-pitched and slower. So, I made research about the ways in which ears could perceive the same sound with different pitches, but then I had an idea: let's check how it sounds on UA-cam! Here we go: it was not my fault, the music really changed! I'm a bit disappointed because I'm used to the original version.
Totally agree I prefer this version. But the slower version is actually the original, with this being a 2012 edit. Not sure why Simon would want a version change back to the original after all these years though 🤔
So I'm reading a lot of people are also peeved about changing the speed (I'm willing to bet it is some kind of sample issue - but you never know) - EITHER WAY - If you bought the new slowed down version - increase it EXACTLY 10% in speed (don't pitch lock), and it will sound like the original 2012 version. PEACE! (You can do this easily with Audacity or a more baller piece of software if you have one)
@@jeffryharrison2 the slower version is the original, released on an EP in 2010, the faster 2012 version was released on black sands remixed album, th 2012 . So weird that he has now replaced the black sands remixed version with the 2010 original. Both should be available to stream imo.

I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who noticed and cares about this. It's like chopped and screwed now, minus the chop. I thought it was my blue tooth connection at first, but this video sounds fine. Fyi I'm on Spotify.
When I first noticed that I thought I was just remembering things weird and it was driving me nuts, but it turns out that it was just spotify and google being weird. It has to be a technical issue or something, because I don't know what else would prompt that change.
what you talkin about? Bonobo has been producing music longer my friend. Guess your not familiar with Ninja Tune. 20 years out of the UK. This is classic bonobo. Check his dial m and animal magic. Released 11 years ago.
Why are you telling people what to do with their freedoms? Let people express themselves if that makes them happy! People aren't telling you to stop talking about listening sober because they respect themselves and you. Have you ever thought of that? Drugs have shaped the way in which we can both interpret and enhance music on a whole other level, so if that's what some people enjoy then let it be. They speak from experience. It's an extremely powerful perspective. One that is without prejudice. Nobody is telling you you need drugs to make music better that is merely a matter of opinion. Some would agree that you're missing out though. Mainly because you'll feel and hear things in music you've never heard before because the pathways in your brain will be changed, and you'll realize the chasm between the two parallels is gargantuan. It's theorized that the human brain changed when the first as you call them drugs(mushrooms), entered it for the first time. This could've been when our vocabulary and language fundamentally changed, which in turn changed the way we created expression itself. Who's not to say that because of ingesting natural drugs/plants that singing, chanting, humming, and drumming came into fruition. A giant leap from grunting and body language it would seem.
I’m reading the comments and noticed that there is two versions of this track, a fast-beat one and a slower-beat one. So I went investigating on the thing and listened to a slower version of it. So then, I don’t know which one is the original between the faster one and the slower one.
This version was the one on Spotify for the longest time, but Bonobo claimed on Twitter the slower version was always "meant to be" the original version. IDK, seems like bullshit to me, could've just uploaded the slower version under a different name even if that were the case, I vastly prefer this one
Conspiracy theory: Was the Spotify version slowed so it could be 4:20? Either way, I prefer the slower one, seems to match the name better. Such a good image to tie to the track.
Bonobo stated on twitter that the slower version was always the original one and had it changed - but honestly the 2012 faster one is waaay better. So sad it got altered.
Although what you say is true, this only refers to the American context of it. OUTSIDE of the U.S. (Mainly in Europe), 'Spelt' and 'Spelled' can both be used as the past tense of the word 'Spell'. And both are correct. Know your shit before calling me a moron.
Makes me think of making a show about good and evil Ghost. Good ghosts who share a body with living creatures and bad ones that take/steal the body of living creatures. The living creatures sharing their body would use Telekinesis to exercise the body-snatchers.
Bonobo is the perfect blend of electronic and organic.
God it feels so good knowing that I wasn't the only one to notice the pitch change
Absolutey beautiful. Everything about this is beautiful. The melody, the arrangement, the organic feel. This man can do nothing wrong...NOTHING!
this music is more than music, bonobo should get an international award for all these epic tracks he made, i'm sure it made a lot of people change deep inside. taking this straight into the soul
This is at a much more pleasing tempo than the version on spotify
What's wild is that the version on Spotify (and Tidal, Apple, etc.) all used to be this version, for literally years. And then one day, they all got replaced by the slow tempo version. I personally dislike that version a lot, so I was pretty irritated when it got swapped out.
@@thesolo I know, right!?! Glad you like this version better :)
sobriety (or lack thereof) aside, Bonobo makes really nice sounds.
Geez, this is such a feast for my ears. Thanks for posting it!
Yes!! The correct version! It’s a bit faster, literally wrecked my brain trying to enjoy the Spotify version
This has to be the funkiest ghost ship ever.
The name of the song makes me imagine a ghost ship sailing through a foggy sea while bobbing side to side to the beat of this song

bonobo if only u knew how many trips your music hhas taken me on.
love the weirdness of this song but specifically the sound at 0:38 that pops in and out
The best remixed track !

I don't say this tune isn't good without smokin but the way you feel while listening to this is way better when you're high!
Great gem, glad to have found it
Beautiful
im so lucky i have an excellent taste in music...we all are!!!
Music with less words speaks louder than with to the soul
ya tiene unos añitos , pero aun no me canso de escucharla.
No. This is a bonus track of the black sands remixed. Not previously on any of his other albums. NINJA TUNE!!
The Spotify version is slowed down for some reason
yo lo compre en bandcamp y google, la version de bandcamp es mas rapida que la google play music
Same for Apple Music. It was this version, but it recently changed. This faster version is so much better
The slower version is so much better in my opinion.

I'm just angry that this song changed on Google Play and now it's weird.
Same at spotify, honestly it was a douchy thing to do
Yeah, wtf is that about? It just came on for me, and I have never been more disappointed in my life.
I fucking knew it wasn't just my faulty memory. Whhhaaaaaat gives

This version is what is on the original CD/vinyl releases. It feels much more natural to me than the slow-tempo version.
