Seems like this reboot is cancelled, but if ABC don't do something with it before too long, the rights revert to Sony (The exact inverse of Spiderman!)

If Disney do nothing with it, eventually it will revert to Sony in the US. But they already own Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, so they may or may not be in any rush to make new millionaire.

They should have just let people have 4 lifelines, everybody traded the 50 50, it felt silly. It works as a desperation move, making it something that could be traded away was a dumb decision. Even going to the effort to belabor that it's now an RNG, it's not going to be the most popular.

They probably kept the celebrations muted because of the restrictions in place. In fairness, the first ever winner of £1 million in the UK - Judith Keppel - only had lights and no confetti when she won back in 2000.

No episode of this 20th anniversary revival was in fact rated G by any means unlike most episodes from the classic version. A late night comedian hosted the most recent version and there were many changes due to COVID, even a Philbin tribute.
