great trip but most of the rough trails are off my list but still looks like fun ill let some of my mountain biking friends know about it they will love it
I did a fatbike loop of Yorston Lake west of Temagami after the first snows this fall . Looking forward to doing a few more routes in the spring before the blackflies attack. I have a packraft and have a few bikeraft trips planned as well. Handy for some routes which require water crossings or flooded by beavers.
Great work! I enjoyed the voice overs from all the riders. Bikepacking in Ontario is a must experience. Definitely needs some toughness. You can fit 700x45 or 650Bx51 on your bike. Should be mostly enough. Looking forward to seeing more info about the route! Cheers from Ottawa.
Nice Video and ride. My Buddy and I are planning to tackle our first trip this spring. - A one-nighter. Any suggestions for an overnighter that is not to onerous for a newbie who has been riding road for about 4 years. Cheers
Great watch. I live in Guelph. My buddy and I planned our first bikepacking trip come spring. Just a 1 nighter to start and get the feel for how to pack proper, etc. This summer will be great. Hopefully do a trip similar to this up North. Maybe we’ll cross paths out there one day!
@@CranknGrindmtb I just bought the bike recently so gravel riding is new for me... but of course... already loving it! I noticed you live in Guelph. From this video plug of your Instagram page, I gave you a follow today. My Instagram is @AlexArgy9 - I’ll hit you up to link soon.
I really enjoyed watching this. I've been bike pack curious for a while now. I really loved the film. Nice work here. Oh and congrats on 700.. It'll be 1k in no time.
Hey Toogy. I'm almost 50 and planning my first bike packing ride for this summer. Don't know where in Ontario yet but lots of loops in southern Ontario to explore. Just start buying essential bags on Amazon like I did. You should join me if interested. I'm solo for now
I have a second wheel set for my Warbird for this type of terrain the 650b with Rene Heres Juniper Ridge tires perform well. Still underbiked but in a good way.
Hey Mike! I do not unfortunately, you would have to reach out to Paulo Laberge on Facebook who planned the ride. I couldn't even tell you our starting point haha.
@@joshwhitee Haha, all good, I will reach out to Paulo. I follow him on IG as well. Hopefully I can reach him, the rout looked awesome although not easy. I really appreciate the content you make here. See you in September at the 8 Hours of Hurting! Cheers.
The route will likely be published on BIKEPACKING.com earlier into the new year. But basically look up Bigwind Lake Provincial Park and you'll see the general route. Cheers!
Terrific film Josh. You make a compelling argument for bikepacking in Ontario!
Awesome video, Josh. I'm hoping to bike this route this summer. I'll definitely be riding a bike with wider tires though!

looks awesome! I love swimming after a day on the bike!
You have no idea how good it felt after that day mountain biking on skinny tires was haha
This looks like I would love it. What a trip. Rain on the tent sound. Great to have guides like that. Great vid J
What a great adventure. I would love to tackle a route similar to this in the future. Thanks for sharing, great camera work!

Thanks so much for making this. Learned a LOT! :)
Haha bikepacking trip in your future? It’s super fun!
I love my Salsa Journeyman, ride safe everyone !
Awesome!!!👌 I'm Paulo's "old friend", and we 1st rode this area together in June '20
It was such a fun loop! I’ll definitely be investing in some gear to go on more trips!
Well shot and edited! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Thanks for checking it out!

Yah those SUTRA’s seemed like the perfect bikes for that route. Thanks for checking it out!

That’s the perfect way to dip your toes in. Just don’t underbike like I did 😂
@@joshwhitee haha no doubt! We are sticking to a gravel trail. The G2G; Guelph to Goderich. Gravel bikes are perfect for it.
@@AlexArgiropoulos that’s on the hit list for sure!
Alex, I'm in Gueph too! Perhaps sometime we should hook up for a good gravel ride. Cheers 🤘

Wow such an awesome adventure! I really want to do something like this next year, but I have NONE of the gear lol
I mooched Paulo’s! I’m sure he’d lend you some if you invite yourself on a trip like I did 🤣

I know I would have definitely been more comfortable on a tire like that. Next time for sure!
Looked like a great ride despite the rough terrain. Would you have a gps file of the ride? I’d love to give it a go. Thanks!

Can you tell us what the loop was? Start, finish etc.?
There may actually be an article in bikepacking.com at some point !

@@CranknGrindmtb I look forward to it. This and the COLT will be on my to-do-list this year.
another why we ride explain video.
I'm not sure what you mean here haha?
Since nobody else is gonna ask, what's with the nude female mannequin?
you'll have to ask @jessedriftwood about that one haha. They've become a staple in the studio.
