It would have been very interesting to see them together. Love Me Tender was originally called The Reno Brothers. Taking place after the Civil War, it could qualify as a Western. Elvis admired Frank Sinatra for doing dramatic, non-singing roles. The film was originally not supposed to have any songs. Some of the four included seemed out of place in a period piece. Flaming Star originally had four songs. But two got cut. If you walked in 15 minutes late, you'd missed the two that remained. TV Guide's synopsis said he was "surprisingly effective." It was one of his best movies. Too bad it didn't do better at the box office. If so, we might have rarely heard him sing in a movie again. Charro was actually made for NBC-TV. Elvis got his friend Jerry Schilling to be his stand-in, telling him to let his beard grow. Unlike most of his movies, he only sang the theme song, and not in character. It was the B-side to Memories, written by Mac Davis. Interestingly, this was the only one of Elvis' movies that none of our local libraries had on DVD and/or VHS. I actually watched it in 10 minute segments on UA-cam at the library. Finishing it took more than one trip. Victor French played the bad guy. Too bad we never got Clint and Elvis in a movie together. We now know that Clint has an interest in movie. There was the movie about Charlie Parker. Don't forget him playing a country singer in Honkytonk Man. I've done an imitation of him many times. OK, that's in his later coughing scenes.
Elvis last Western Charro was offered to Clint but he was doing his own thing. They cut a lot of adult content and Elvis said they turned it into a milk toast Western its very Clint type film and the title song Charro! is superb. No doubt Elvis would have enjoyed Clints moves. Elvis second Western Flaming Star was directed by Don Seigel who made many films with Clint
Great job Bob!
I would have never put those two people together, it's interesting to know who knew each other in hollywood. Thanks Bob.

Yeah, I wish Elvis didn't heed the Colonel's choices for roles and did more serious stuff 🤓😎✌🏻
parker had ZERO to do with the roles the studio chose for Elvis' ..u stupid cnt LOL
Cool 😎 information.
Col. Parker turned down alot of things that would have been better for Elvis' movie career. 😠 😡
Yeah this is BS Elvis NEVER met or spoke to Clint
