I saw a comment here some time ago asking why do Seventeen songs sound nostalgic even if it's their first time listening to it.
Personally, I think it's because Seventeen's concept heavily relies on youth and growing up. They explicitly explore all phases of your youth from early adolescence until present day. They specifically lean into experiences of love - from having a crush to experiencing puppy love until it blooms to a mature one, even dealing with the toxicity and problems of relationships, which I think all of us had experienced once or twice. To make it better, Seventeen (most especially Woozi) knows how to capture the sound of innocence or torment or trauma in a song. You listen to a certain song and you'll definitely know what kind of emotion they're singing even without looking up the lyrics.
What also adds to the nostalgic feeling is that Seventeen refuses to follow what's trendy but stick to what message they want to convey - which most likely be their hurdles, their thoughts during that particular phase in their life. Their songs are like journal entries of them growing up and we're blessed to be able to experience them through their songs.

I just want to share what I always noticed in this video at their choreography at 1:54 Idk if someone already explained this or if this is really the meaning of it but look at how the members formed a sign of Seventeen however there was a one part that is incomplete but suddenly The8 pops out and the sign was formed completely. It just shows how The8 was really meant to be in Seventeen considering that he was the last one to complete the group. This little detail from the choreo melts my heart TT^TT

I know this might be late but I just wanted to share you guys something. This song was played and covered by the members of the dance troop in our school. They used this as their intermission number of an event in our school. Most of the students in our school don’t really recognize this song by seventeen because it’s a side track and only few knew seventeen yet most of us(yes, including me) gets emotional, nostalgic, or whatsoever. It was aesthetic to look at especially they performed it at night with matching lights. Even it’s just a cover, all of us admit it that it was so beautiful. Even the teachers and staff in our school said so. Even the non-kpop fans, some asked me who sang that. Even the bashers(some), they said that it’s different from other kpop songs. To me, this song is for everyone, not just carats. I never knew that this would also affect to a non-fan or even a basher. This song is really- I can’t explain in words because there are no enough words to use to describe this masterpiece 😭💎

Choreography like this is so underrated! Often times, I see a lot of dances that are sharp, fast and powerful from groups and it often easily catch viewer's attention and that's what I've always feel as to be the most entertaining and it still is. However, I've seem to neglect that dances like this, gentle, subtle, and graceful contains beauty of its own too. So much attention to detail and so much precision must be directed accordingly to give the correct feeling and message across to viewers, and that is exactly what Seventeen did here. It's this kind of dance that are so unforgettable and so memorable.

Every time I think "Seventeen can't possibly outdo themselves any further," they do things like this. This is probably genuinely the most beautiful video I've ever seen. The thing that is so captivating about Seventeen's choreographies is that even though they have way more than the standard number of members, they take advantage of the size of their group and make every single unit's movements count in their choreography. The flow of the place changes and small nuances in each member's movements altogether complete a fluid unit of movement that completes a picture that would look different if even one member were taken out. I can't think of any other kpop group that incorporates member placements and and group movement like Seventeen does.

SVT really knows how to incorporate their members into their choreo! each member plays a part in the overall Choreo and every choreo tells a story and every member is a part of that story. Every choreo they made were created in such a beautiful way as if it’s a choreo made for specifically 13 members.

For a long time I've always wondered why no one can ever top Seventeen's dancing for me. There are a looot of artists in the kpop scene that are really good at dancing, but for some reason, for me, Seventeen stands on another level. So I thought about it, and the most accurate reason I could come up with is because Seventeen delivers art. No, I'm not saying it in a simple way, I'm saying Seventeen focuses and incorporates art on their dancing (from the formations to the transitions, from the precision of each step to the details of each minute movement, from both complexity and simpleness to the overall synchronization) - everything is on point. Seventeen dances gracefully. There is something in the way they move individually and as a group that is unlike any other. I can only explain this by saying that they have this aura of gentleness, even when they perform strong and powerful dances. I've noticed this ever since I saw their performance of Yuhaengga, where I realized the beauty in dancing slow songs, even if most of the movements are just walking.
I was once told of an experience when a fellow carat was watching a performance of Without You, and someone they know joined in watching the video and commented that it's not that good because SVT isn't energetic. I was about to lash at that story but I realized there was no point, because people have different tastes. See, what I've noticed on comments on many choreography videos, specially on boy group dances, is that most people equate power and the strength of dance moves to its awesomeness and difficulty. If it's fast, it's awesome. If there's a lot of movements, it's hard. I love Without You's choreography very much, I can say that it's one of Seventeen's masterpieces. And here I would like to stress that slow movements comprised with gentle gestures and synchronized walking is just as powerful as strong, hiphop, or sexy choreos.
And with the addition of Our Dawn Is Hotter Than Day, I cannot stress any stronger how creative Seventeen, most especially Hoshi and the rest of Performance Team really are. I love this choreo very much, from the movements during "Oh oh, Oh oh" to the way they showed farewell at the end. And the "Oh Summer Summer Summer Summer" part leaves me dazed. Whenever Seventeen performs, it is this gentleness that makes them stand out the most to me. Even in their powerful dances, especially Chuck, I can still see this sort of gentlemanliness in the way they carry the choreography. It makes me proud that they really carry their "Kingsman" vibe in every performance, and not just in No F.U.N., because that's how I see Seventeen: Kingsmen on their way to kill you with elegance through their performances. The way I see it, Seventeen focuses on the art itself, and not on the effect of art, when they dance.

They are so good at portraying a story through their choreo. I love all the details that make this one feel nostalgic and emotional. The way the members who made the SVT logo with their arms and how they gracefully fluttered their arms down was such a pretty detail. Such a talented group.

Svt already charted on billboard in 2015 for their debut album and that album was the only that longest charted in that year. Svt received many love calls since then but their CEO decided to reject it first bcs they want to build solid fandom in Asia first especially in Korea, their own country. After that, they managed to get huge fandoms in Japan and basically in Asia. They sold out many dome concert in japan such as Tokyo dome and even add more venue bcs of high demand but it got cancelled bcs of covid. Even without proper promotion in western, they managed to sold out their World Tour concert in America including North America and always made Kcon as their own concert lol. Again, this is before they joined the bighit label. So, now they can focus to promote in us more. They also become the sec best selling album in kpop (after bts) last year with Triple Million Seller which they sold out more than 3 millions albums last year even without any US label and japanese label. Their fandom (carats) are growing surely but "quietly" ✨
