Jerry Congrats on the new box ! Good looking and equally good sounding. Looks like it's in great shape. Nice addition to the war chest of accordions ! 5/5 is always a nice option ! Oh and 1 other thing the video visual effects are Grrreat !
Not that it really makes a big difference to me, but I believe the lowest bass note is a "D". It also has hand made reeds with 22 individual and unique right hand registrations. It's a very unique accordion with great sound and versatility. I enjoy it a lot for many different genres of music. The Atlantic, Atlantic Musette and Atlantic Deluxe are all nice sounding accordions, I've played them many times! Thanks for posting! :)
Hi Jerry, Lovely range of sounds and nice playing too! I'm considering one that has hardly been played and will need some TLC and playing in. Can you put me out of my misery and tell me what reeds are used in it. Having a 50's Fratelli Crosio and a Hohner Atlantic IV, I want Italian hand made or finished reeds and the Imperator V certainly seems to have a lot of brilliance.
You know, I've only had it briefly opened once (and that alone was an experience compared to my other Hohners!), and I did note the diamond shaped rivets holding the reeds in place and a blue stripe, so I am not sure if they are hand made, but they are at the very least hand finished reeds (no idea of brand), and the sound is absolutely lovely. Due to the 22 possible registrations it makes it one of the most versatile acoustic accordions I have ever seen in my life! Thanks for posting.
@@JerryPH Thanks for that, Jerry. I'm told that they're called Artist reeds that Hohner had specially made, superior to those used in the Atlantic. Loud but quick speaking.
I've not tested yet, but its not a "standard German" level of tremolo and not quite the harsher French version... llikely something in between if I had to guess at this point.
Nice sounding instrument ! Well worth adding to the collection.
Thank-you John, I am really enjoying it's versatility!

Hi Ed... thank-you so much, your friendship, advice and personal mastery of the accordions have inspired me to continue... just wanted you to know! :)
Nice version of pigalle, I used to play that tune in the bars in Paris.
Stephen, thanks! I am sure your rendition was just awesome!
Hey Jerry! Great sounding accordion/recording, and great playing too!
Thank-you Frank!
Does your accordion have a low E Bass? I own an Atlantic IV N and it has a low E bass

If those are indeed artist reeds, the Imperator has hand-made reeds, highest quality available, which is amazing to learn!
Very nice and vintage instrument, congratulations! Do you know the amount of double tremolo 440hz +/- cents of it?

excuse me.
does the accordion have the stradella free bass system?
Thanks for posting! Unfortunately, no, this model does not have Free Bass, I really wish it did, I am a big fan!
@@JerryPH Thank you very much .
I admire your work and wish you success.
until the next opportunity
Thank-you for the good wishes!
Is that one made in Germany? Is it brand new?
Yes its made in Germany, no it is not new. This is a model that was only made between 1961 to 1973.
