If Bernie was a benign dictator, America would be suffering from disasterous changes such as nation-wide high-speed rail, affordable and universal healthcare. Oh the horror.

If only the democrats had followed his foot-steps, they may have won... I had no idea that the democrats were essentially copying the Republicans and trying to mimic/confuse moronic MAGA supporters by advertising conservative values as if that was a good strategy. Like Jesus, way to throw in the towel, all it did was shut out democratic voters (16 million fewer voters) and tell people to vote for Trump anyway because they are the same agenda. So pathetic.
Also broken up into distinct social classes. The wealthiest on board get better treatment and got on the lifeboats first. Even if they inherited the wealth they get to act like they're more deserving. Rose: "Half the people on this ship are gonna die!" Cal: "Not the better half..."
Now we are rearranging the deck chairs as the band plays us off the stage. I hope people learn how to swim, or repair the huge hole. The slimmest and entirely unlikely quick patch is to invoke the 14th amendment and let Trump know he is ineligible after inciting an insurrection. They could call for a new election because Vance would not be the VP if Trump isn’t president. Because of the Supreme Court decision Biden could make that call and get away with it as an official act. It might upset people but before the announcement would be made there could be a strong case made for the clear and present danger Trump embodies as a threat to democracy itself. He and his team are showing their true colors, talking about deporting American citizens along with their families if any of them are undocumented, saying he will be a dictator, inciting violence and saying he is not above using the military on his political opponents and critics including the press and comedians. If ever there was a clear and present threat it is this. So Biden go ahead. Use the 14th amendment while it still exists and applies. Some good people were given bad information. They made a bad decision. Inform them and steer this ship out of the storm.
You mean like 2 billionaires. Also could you elaborate and explain why it blows your mind that there could be moral rich people out there who got their money by working hard? Is this a hill that you will die on, that there will never be a morally good billionaire? Is it a law in the universe or something? Just some questions
@Quaggabagel working hard? Let's say elons take home is $100mill/year (I'm aware he doesn't actually have a salary but whatever) i, a welder fabricator make about 5mill/lifetime (50 years). Your telling me he does 20 lifetimes worth of work per year?
When Elon Musk says the federal budget must be cut by $2T and 70% of that budget is Social Security, Medicare, or Defense/Homeland Security, it means the richest man in the world is going to screw over those in retirement. Let that sink in.
In the current economic situation Americans would find it hard to retire comfortably amid economy downtrend. My major fear is running out of funds much later, thus keen on investing. What could be the safest possible ways to invest for cashflow, in order to afford lifestyle after retirement?
Agreed, the role of advisors can only be overlooked, but not denied. I remember in early 2020, during covid-outbreak, my portfolio worth around 300k took a slight fall, apparently due to the pandemic crash, at once I consulted an advisor in order to avoid panic-selling. As of today, my account has yielded big fat yields, and leverages on 7-figure, only cos I delegate my excesses right.
this is huge! mind if I look up the advisr that guides you please? only invest in my 401k through my employer for now, but enthused about diversifying my investments for a prosperous financial future
I've shuffled through a few advisors in the past, but settled with “Annette Christine Conte” her service is exemplary. I'd suggest you research her further on your browser, sure you'll find her basic info.
Im so sick of the phrase "things are going to get worse before they get better" I feel like my entier adult life has been things getting worse. When exactly do they get better?
Know the feeling. Don't remember a single bit of good news in last three years, don't remember the last time I felt joy, don't remember even the last time it bothered me that I do not feel any joy anymore. Quarter of a century under Putin, in case if you wonder.
Ehhh... we're pretty much screwed with climate change now. So if it does get better in some ways, it's still gonna get worse for the average person. But at least Punk Rock is probably gonna make a comeback.
Straight. Out. Of. The. Hitler. Playbook. Quite literally blamed Germany's inflation and struggles on the Jews instead of acknowledging the true, multiple causes. Shit is embarrassing and also exposes our terrible education system.

Exactly. If we deport people to known climate changed areas that are uninhabitable or gang controlled zones, how is that any different than sending a group of people to a gassy box?
What drives me insane is that Kamala actually did acknowledge that stuff was getting expensive, correctly identified that corporations were responsible for this greedflation, and said she was going to stop them from doing this. But then I guess some advisors or donors told her to cut it out, so she quickly dropped it.
That's what happens when everyone sits in the corpo pocket. Too much wealth at stake, so things will never change for the better, not without a revolution, anyway.
I think it's really really clear that democrats don't care about us as much as republicans don't. They might pay us lip service. They might represent a pause on things actively getting worse. They're never going to make anything better. We need a party that represents us. Democrats have made clear which of their many many many incompatible causes are going to take priority and it's big business just like republicans.
Other than donor pressure, I think another reason she would stop trying is that people just weren’t believing it coming from someone in the Biden administration. Which is pretty unfair considering our inflation was lower than many other places but oh well. There was so little time they probably just thought it would work better to go on the attack and talk about “freedom.”
Literally watched a video with that theme and had to switch it off. Yes, the dollar is up, things are going great for the economy... it's just that it only helps a tiny fraction of people who are getting wealthier no matter what.
“Why would working class people vote against their own economic interests?” Half of the country thinks foreign companies pay tariffs. Most people don’t know what’s in their best interest.
Tim Apple knows Trump isn’t taking his personal rights away, he's too rich for that. As long as he remains obedient and useful, he will get to continue to live his life in the manner that was afforded him by the sacrifices of better people.

During her campaign, Kamala spoke of eliminating price gouging and raising the minimum wage, two things that would make a real difference for the working class. How come I, across the pond in England, know about this, but the voters seemingly didn't? (Is it because I don't get my news from Fox or Twitter?)
Agreed! But he just mentioned (just like other democrats) that we didn’t try to appeal to the working class which is completely bullshit; ex: child tax credit, first time home buyer down payment assistance. What is Adam talking about?
Yes, it's because you have a news system that actually requires news vs absolute bullshit masquerading as news. It's also way easier to get angry and yell and blame something than understand our system is fucking us over. It takes work which apparently we're not willing to do.
You are so right. Adam is on the media blamestorm bandwagon of the Dems were at fault for know acknowledging the challenges, when in fact there was nothing wrong with Harris' 100 day campaign and it was the voters fault. I believe there was something more primitive brain issues at play like misogyny or racism. The strong brown anti-immigrant sentiment is the clue and those voters will never admit it fully. Adam, please reply how you got this wrong because many of us know better.
Calling it grief is horribly accurate. I could only describe the attitude of my mother as mourning, for the great losses about to come, and the even greater loss of what couldn’t been. And how can she not when our own grandparents are voting to hurt their granddaughters, their trans grandkids, and their own children? None of us can ever look at them the same way, not when love is conditional and theoretical are more important than your own family
I laughed when people said "Elon wasted his money on Twitter". Its not about Twitter. Its about controlling the daily narrative. That's worth more than 44 Billion.
Yeah I wish he wasn’t allowed to. I forgot then he “HAD” to purchase it. Looking like a long term plan or what you can do with that much money. Walking into the few Banana peels in their way and fall into power.
I’m pretty sure that wasn’t his plan, he kept trying to back out. It’s honestly more depressing - you can be a complete fuckup and *still* get rewarded more power if you’re a billionaire.
He didn't want to actually buy Twitter in the first place. It was a publicity stunt that went wrong. He attempted to cancel the deal multiple times, claiming that Twitter was lying to him but was legally forced to go through with it. His inflated ego is just preventing him from calling it quits and shutting off the servers.
the fact Kamala never confirmed she would keep her was a big L for the democrats. literally the first FTC director since before Reagan to actually protect consumers
It's a damn shame we have to destroy what little protections we develop to defend against exploitative businesses every 4-8 years, between the FTC, the FDA this time, the EPA. Damn shame. Harris was entertaining removing her too though, she's too much of a threat to party heads and donators.
I know right? What if he did something crazy like try to use OSHA to undermine people's bodily autonomy by forcing medical procedures on them? How wild would that be? Surely no president has tried that before.
Something I really appreciate is that Adam was very quick to point out the comments and how his last video didn’t resonate with us. It’s shows integrity that you don’t just find anywhere anymore
I agree. I'm not a huge fan of Adam nor do I agree with him on lots of things, but I got to respect the fact that he will admit when he was wrong or had an oversight on his part (or at least in this case he did). That takes guts and integrity.

"The whole billionaire class is thrilled" Funny thing is, according to Arton Capital, a global citizenship financial advocacy group, 53 percent of American millionaires plan to leave the US. So I guess the bar was just too high.
I don't see your claimed reference, but either you've misremembered it, or they are full of BS. Millionaires make up something like 18% of all households in the US, about 24 million. There is no way that 10% of households in the US are planning to leave, let alone anywhere close to that number would actually do it. Fact is, with inflation, being a millionaire doesn't mean what it used to and the vast majority of millionaires don't have enough wealth to distinguish themselves politically from the middle class in any meaningful way. The billionaire class (fewer than 1000 households in the US) run roughshod over the millionaire class as much as they do everyone else. In my opinion, Trump won because he offered a one dimensional simple easy-to-comprehend "answer" to a multi-layered complex problem. Very few people have a solid understanding of the economy and Trump's "asnwer" was easy to latch on to. Not only that, but it supported one side of the ongoing Culture War in America making his "answer" even more popular.
Additionally, Trump is considered a simpleton (perhaps rightfully so), which is great for Americans who don't trust sly politicians with their slick talk and slimy behavior. I thought Harris did talk about corporate greed. The problem is that tik tok and twitter was spreading so much misinformation that whenever Harris tried to educate people on the reality, then trump just said "fake news" and that spread faster.
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter that Harris spent a few months campaigning on some focus-group-tested talking points. She can talk about "corporate greed" or raising the minimum wage, or tackling price-gouging all she wants, but the Dems don't have any track record of actually legislating on those issues. Nobody who pays any attention to politics expects them to raise the minimum wage or do anything that isn't means-tested and ultimately insufficient. They have a very long track record of rolling over and showing their bellies to corporate America. The GOP has never ever waivered in my lifetime from the "immigrants are bad" position. They can run an entire presidential campaign on nothing but anti-immigrant garbage and there is a huge subset of voters that find it appealing and worth their vote, and they think the GOP will reliably try to tackle the issue. The Dems have not carved out a clear position on any issue in my lifetime. Sure, they are very "pro-choice" in their rhetoric, but not in their actions.

As a trans woman in a blue state, I feel relatively safe. Yet, when I think about the next four years, I have a different emotion than grief. What I have is dread. Dread that I, a retail worker, have to continue to serve a populace with an over 51% chance of being discriminated against. Dread that my concerns still won't be heard because I can't rally enough people to my side on the issue of unionizing my workplace. Dread that if I can't get my health care because of the Republican party enforcing policies from Project 2025, that I may have to resort to DIY, unregulated hormone treatments that could potentially kill me. Dread that as a disabled person, I'm going to have to fight EVEN HARDER to be recognized by the state as such. Dread all around, yet I keep fighting. I persist. When I said "Death before Detransition" I fucking meant it. They can take my rights away but they will never be able to take away the person I am. As long as I have humanity, I will continue to fight, and so should everyone else.

They view Trump as the punishment.
It is all about the "establishment" and poeple just tired of their message. AOC asked Trump supporters who also voted for her what their motivations are. Common responses deal with anti-establishment views, and that they're both very "real". Yes you read that right, there are many who voted for Trump but also AOC down ballot. We have done so much deregulation of corporate America. America has bought into what is good for business is what is good for me. The problem is that it is not true. I could go on and on about how deregulating different industries has hurt the collective interests of people, but I won't. Adam, that is your job!
We generally have too little regulation (to protect consumers or to protect the environment to name two area) but many people believe we have too much government - it's a strange situation. At the same time we have very large wealth disparities which most people think are excessive, yet people favor tax cuts. These ideas (that corporations should not be restricted and that taxes should be cut again) are being sold to people as expressions of *freedom*. Another strange paradox is that people see crime, homelessness and illegal drug use (among other social challenges) as significant and pressing. But again many buy into the idea that government should be reduced and programs should be cut or eliminated.

I volunteer at the children’s hospital in my town; my job is pushing the movie cart, I hear what patients ask for directly, and make lists of what is most needed. We don’t get many donations and the ones we get are usually really old. So I went out to buy some movies, I figure the least I can do is provide a hurting child something decent to watch, I mean a lot of those kids stay for multiple weeks at a time. I clearly have not bought movies in a long time. Last night I spent over $100 on like the 6 movies I donated to them. And only like two of them were remotely new releases. I realize why we get so few donations now. I think about those kids, and the small ways they’ll be made even more uncomfortable/hurt. It’s already unfair they have to deal with things that is no one’s fault, and now they’ll have to deal with consequences that ARE directly the fault of others.
I'm guessing the movie cart is something like a tv with a bluray player? Check if it has a usb port, it can probably play video files straight from external storage. Then it's just a matter of filling a usb drive with pirated movies. Few people know this, but piracy is actually legal when it's for hospitalized children.

Every time the wealthy need a corporation bailed out because of their greed, the American people pay to bail them out with our tax dollars, socialism. So, socialism is alive and well in this country if you're wealthy or a civil servant.

Uprooting and relocating is a major financial and emotional hurdle, especially when job markets are tough across the board. "The whole billionaire class is thrilled"
Funny thing is, according to Arton Capital, a global citizenship financial advocacy group, 53 percent of American millionaires plan to leave the US.
It's just that the millionaires have enough financial buffer to weather the storm.
@@harvey66616 I think you need to do a better job at searching then.
The dems (not left) tell them the economy is fine and they should vote because gay people and women will think they're terrible if they don't. Hell, black and latino voters voted for Trump. It's not because they were afraid of a strong black woman. She just appeased "centrists" and "undecided voters". Worse, she did it trying to use vibes, celebrity endorsements, and a token working class white guy as vp. Honestly, people like Tim Walz and AOC need to be put in charge of the party and make it the party of the working class again.
I don't like Trump either, but y'all Americans seem to have suddenly forgotten all the shit Reagan did.
Once he threw his support behind trump for 2024, I knew that it was over. I figured he had too much control over twitter for his influence to not solidify what happened.
Once many progressives started doing the 2016 purity test thing with Kamala in August they did with Hillary in 2016 I knew it was over.
I don't need a president or politician I agree with 100%, that's unrealistic, I need a candidate who has a track record of doing the right thing even if it's difficult. Claiming empathy(woke) was evil showed me who MAGA was, empathy is not evil.
When Trump could run for reelection it was a diagnosis and only the question of time when US votes for a fascist
So the entire hollywood/media/other social media/DOJ/legal system +BILLION DOLLARS in ad spend was behind kamala and elon beat them all with his 17 billion dollar company.
So he proved he is an efficiency expert.
It's almost like maybe this perhaps is possibly why he bought the platform and drove so many rational, normal people off it, so that those still using it had a largely un-challenged stream of disinformation being fed to them in the leadup to the election. Installing a pro-oligarchy wanna-be dictator... just the kind of thing the banks and Saudi royals who invested would love too, you know?
He literally got Trump back on Twitter, albeit I haven't been following so it may have just been that one tweet and dumpster fire of a virtual rally.
Holy shit that explanation of grief hit DEEP
One thing the common man will never truly understand is that at a certain point money is no longer money. It is power.
Once they have the ability to afford any item they want, influence and power are the coveted items.
Poland was totally conscious in its choice. We had a mini-Trump (right-wing)government for 8 years. And finally, finally, my fellow citizens got enough of it, and they voted for a centrist, pro-EU, smart and more liberal government. So no, it wasn't like the people googled it and went for election angry; we were angry for 8 years! There were big protests, we lost abortion rights in Poland, we lost funds from the EU, we lost position and dignity, there was corruption, and there were attacks on the Supreme Court. Like i said we just switch from mini-Trump government to a normal pro citizen government. So we are different case.
But you did benefit from that right wing government. No islamic terrorists is a big boon.

Elon Musk thinks that because he got Trump elected that Trump will listen to what Elon has to saysay, and that's hilarious.
It's hilarious that ANYONE thinks that. Why do they keep saying Elon will run the show, have they seen Trump?!

As a trans American, I’m really dreading my inevitable loss of rights. When I and other trans folk suffer, we will not be listened to and our hardships will be downplayed or outright ignored. This will likely roll back our progress decades. I can’t help but feel like Frodo:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time.”
I guess I could really use a Gandalf right about now.
As a woman, I'm dreading my inevitable loss of my rights to my own body.
Agreed, I'm only 18 my life is just beginning and now I have to deal with the potential of being thrown in jail just for getting HRT.
However, I'm not hopeless, there are still people out there that will continue to fight for everyone's freedoms, including myself.
@crabs4sale825 I'm a trans woman and I'm right here with ya, pal. Best thing we can do is support each other and share resources.
Hey, fellow trans person here. It is time to get out of this mindset. There are political organizers and mutual aid groups in every state for LGBT+ rights, including and Especially red ones, please find yours and join them. (Your local librarian, government professors/teachers, doctor, therapist, psychiatrist, or even your English professor/teacher may be able to help you find yours. Pick someone you trust who you think can help.)
We will face some loss, but if more people actually get up and start becoming active in maintaining and progressing their rights, we may actually get some wins the next few years too. There are allies and resources everywhere, even in red states, it is harder to find them but they still exist.
You don't need to rely on the success of a political party to protect your rights, you can rely on yourself and your community too. Please be safe, and please be strong, we are more powerful with higher numbers across the nation, and no one who matters wants to see that number drop by even one. You aren't alone, and you are not helpless. Bite them back, organize, and learn the process behind citizen's legislation in your state.
Just go to the correct state.

Kamala literally said that there was price gouging on groceries and rents.
And she talked about her middle class economic plan way more. If you want people to associate you with an idea you gotta push that idea she championed the middle class economic plan and it lost her the working class.
She said it like once, then went to campaign with Liz Cheney and Mark Cuban. Not good at all.
@IDIOTSonalog1210 Transitioning to trying to win over moderates was definitely a bad move but I don't know if not doing it would have helped, honestly.
Gas and groceries isn't going to go down.
@@IDIOTSonalog1210 She said it during the debate lmao. It was one of her biggest arguments.
They did say it. What did you think Harris was saying about corporate price gouging and how she would fight it - no one cared. Warren said it. Maybe not enough but they did say it and MAGAts were like: bullshit.
The messaging was too populist, the people running this campaign were exactly the same people who ran the biden campaign and they have an existential fear of populism
Their entire history and life's work might have been incorrect
did they say how they would fight it? trump did.
I figure if the math says the economy is good but people can't afford food and shelter, we need better math.
The problem is that when the media tells you that the economy is good, they usually mean the stock market, but the stock market is not the economy.
The party that "Occupy Wall Street" tried to stop got back into office again. And they aren't going to simply stop at a Muslim ban this time.

There's no point in more intelligent people telling less intelligent people the truth. The idiots aren't listening.

You know the Kamala campaign did actually blame price gougers? it's in her published policy document. It was in the majority of her ads.
But no one listened
Unfortunately, her campaign was weak. Granted, she did not have much time, but still.
Harris didn't give any sound solutions though. If she had, people would've voted for her. Trump might've still won but it would've been much closer if she had done a better drop of explaining how she's help the economy (actually *how* not just saying she'd do it). Yes, she did answer this some but not enough and not clearly enough and it wasn't well communicated to the public.

we need an actual politically significant Worker's Party in the US
Doesn't matter if we did. We need more citizens to wake up.
Unfortunately, our voting system ensures that a 3rd party would be devastating.
Workers would vote for Trump. They don't give a shiat about transpeople or global warming or inflation due to tariffs or illegal immigrants. That's all the things workers don't give two shiats about. They'll vote for Trump. You have your Workers' Party already, it's Trump MAGA party.
Unless we do ranked choice 3rd party isn't going to win the presidency. So for now, we need to get into the dem party and drag them left.

It's amazing how in so many movies, comics, and books we see the corporates as evil and needing to be brought to justice. But in the real world everyone thinks these rich prats are their friends. It just blows my mind.
I think that's a misunderstanding on the left generally - MAGA-types usually also hate big corporations, and rightly point to the corpo-friendly center-right factions of the Democratic party as problematic and corporate, but both ignore the corporate-unfriendly parts of the Democrats and brush off and minimize the heavy presence of corporate lobbyists and actors aligned with Trump. It's the same end result, but they do it via cognitive dissonance, not a love of corporations.
Well, some of them are just brainless techbros and other bootlickers too, but those types are just hopeless.
