I got a pair of Moxi's 4 years ago and I’d practice on and off but not often because each time I’d feel discouraged that I wasn’t getting better as fast as I wanted too. So they pretty much just stayed in my closet. I found your ig a few months ago, but about a month ago I decided to look more into you and it lead me to your UA-cam, and let me tell you! Ever since then just from watching you has motivated me so much that I started practicing a lot more. I’ve been skating for a little over a month now and I’m at a point where I can skate and stand comfortably without feeling like I’m going to fall. I honestly never had thought I’d be able to do the basics on roller skates. Your advice and amazing personality have helped me a lot with skating and I’m so happy I found you cause I probably wouldn’t be skating and practicing right now. You’re genuinely amazing and definitely my favorite roller skater! ♥️
Can you share a video about how you typically set your trucks? I hear people say they like thiers looser or tighter but I can't find any examples of what that even means. I wanna see how much wiggle "loose trucks" actually means.
this is a good video idea! typically i would say that you can't really see because when i loosen them i usually do a half tun to the left or a full turn but to the regular eye i guess you cant really see. How ever when i film this i will make it very exaggerated so you could be able to see the difference!
if you look up a picture/diagram of roller skate anatomy, you’ll see each kingpin axle goes through the hole in a truck. if you loosen the nut on a kingpin axle, the truck on that axle will be able to move more freely, meaning your wheels are more maneuverable and you can turn and access your edges more easily. you can observe this with your skates off if you take one skate and hold it wheels up in your lap, then try to push down on one wheel, let’s say the left, and then try to push down on the right. if you loosen the kingpin nut a bit for that truck and then try to push down on each wheel again, you’ll be able to push them farther down than before. you probably will not be able to tell at first how loose you like them without testing it out by skating on them. i suggest to adjust them slowly (by quarter turns or half turns) while you are testing to see how you like them. if you loosen the trucks too much at once (like if you’ve been skating with tight trucks and you suddenly make them very loose), you might not have built up enough muscle/control to skate stably, or you may just not be used to it. and there is such a thing as loosening them too much; if they’re so loose that the pivots can come out of the pivot cups, that’s obviously very dangerous. if this does not make sense to you even after looking at a diagram of roller skate parts, then feel free to just wait for karen’s video about it; sometimes videos are more helpful in demonstrating.

Do they scuff/scratch easily? If so, can you clean off the scuffs and scratches? Or use something on the surface (modpodge, acrylic sealants etc) to protect the holo? I have a pair of holo dr. Martin’s in a similar holo color/material and they scuffed BAD 😭
I loved their design!! They look gorgeous on you and your outfit. I have the holographic impalas,, i love them but i feel like they are way colorful so these are so much prettier for me. I used them for the first time outside and the front peeled off, plus the wheels feel so hard😭😭 Hope these worked good for you💕

Cheaply made, with many people already experiencing defects and errors with plating, the boot etc... I find it suspicious that the owner just started skating in 2019, and then..started selling skates in April 2020. Someone seems to just have wanted to capitalize off the skating revival 🤔
Definitely not worth the price most people paid for the boot alone cause the wheels and toe stop it comes with aren’t the best especially for beginners
@@drinaaaaxo It's been about a month! The skates stayed behind at the factory for a few weeks for quality control checks, which was what the 4-6 weeks was for. Now they're being held up in LA in an unexpected shipping delay. But the company has been very transparent about the whole process, which is amazing

Have you skated the moolights since you made this video? Did your toe continue to hurt in them? I have a narrow foot size small. I guess I should say I have longer (normal) toes. Lol. I have lollys in size 6, I feel like they are a tiny bit big toes definitely dont hurt. What size should I get. Thanks Karen
I was debating between buying moonboots or jackson vistas. I am actually glad I wound up going with the vistas after digging around in the comments in this video and seeing a few comments about the quality. my vistas aren't as flashy but they're extremely solid and high quality for the price point. I really like seeing your skate reviews and hope to see more in the future.
@@sarahleeklah1642 I don't blame anyone who bought into moonboots. Aesthetically, they are very cute and it's nice to have another cute choice besides Moxi's on the market especially considering the shortage. I'll consider buying just their boots if they're ever made available separate from the hardware for an indoor build, but I think ultimately there needs to be higher expectations in quality hardware purely as a safety precaution POV for rollers sports. I've seen too many pics of snapped trucks from aesthetic skate brands recently. It definitely feels like some of these companies may get in some trouble if the trend continues.
My dad always told m. Never wear tight shoes because it will screw ur feet since they swell up n u need to let it breath. U think a size 4 1/2 or 5 with ur reg socks would help

I'm a Covid newbie. So when loosening the trucks, are you loosening the wheels from the trucks? Or are you loosening the trucks from the boot? And what is the benefit?
I cancelled my order for the Safety Dance skates today as I ordered at the end of July and today (day they were set to ship) they got delayed ANOTHER two weeks. Maybe next spring if Moonlight gets it together I’ll buy them again.... But for now I need either skates or money, so I chose money -_-
same here! honestly feels like the safety dance pre-order was a cash grab for donations. don't get me wrong, i liked the donation and all but the fact that we have still not yet recieved our skates is just ridiculous. people are starting to realize they probably didn't have the skates in stock in the first place and somehow they've restocking them??? everything is not adding up and their business practices and customer service right now is just awful in regard to these orders

Then at the end of August I got an email that said it'd be another 2 week for quality control, would get them at the end of September. So today rolls around, and I get another email telling me it'll be end of October now. I live in Minnesota so end of October means SNOW and I'd like to squeeze these last few weeks of outdoor skate time in while I still can! So instead I emailed for a refund today and then bought some Sure Grip Fame's with outdoor wheels, new laces, and new toe stops to tide me over in the rinks and in my short time outside until spring. It blows my mind to see so many people receiving their skates when so many of us still haven't. I was so excited to be supporting a new small black female owned business but until they get their game together to deliver the goods, I can't.
I have 4s in moxi lollys that fine, but the 4s in moonboots where definitely shorter. My toe was right up against the the front. Turns out, the size 4 lolly and the size 5 moon boot are the exact same length. (I measured both myself.)
This is great! I wanted to try Moonlights but ended up getting Moxi Panthers because they'd arrive sooner. That's def on my list of next skates to get.

i just went with my mens size which is 4 but in women im a 5 and thats what it translated too. the last time i got a mens 5 they were way to big for me so i got a size 4

I’m debating this also but the moons seemed better because the plates are aluminum and the Jackson’s are nylon so wouldn’t that make these safer?
Can hear the $50 dollar differance from the moxi skates ~ praying I don't have to send them back after waiting forever to get the moonboot...

i just went with my mens size which is 4 but in women im a 5 and thats what it translated too. the last time i got a mens 5 they were way to big for me so i got a size 4
