When it comes to brilliant composition, this song surpasses everything produced by The Beatles, and that says it ALL. It has 5 distinct motifs: 2 verses (both of which are completely different... I count the intro as a verse), a killer guitar riff of ALL GUITAR RIFFS, pre-chorus, chorus, AND a bridge. These girls are other-worldly!!
TW are masters of ‘negative space’ - often verses are just accompanied by drums and bass (super well composed between them as you pointed out), then pre-chorus often just guitar (HYCAD a great example of this). Spaces/drops artfully placed - just wonderful writing. HYCAD (live version) will rock your world
"Choke" has become one of my all time favourite rock songs in over 5 decades of listening to music. Apart from the message which means a lot to me, you said yourself it is just so well put together. Definitely my most listened to The Warning song of the last few years. Love your reaction, thank you. ❤✌🤘⚡🔥
Thanks for joining us in The Warning Army, Phil. There is a lot of ground to cover before your shows. Yes, that second verse is so tasteful. Dany's voice. I love Ale's bass line in there. Pau just back there not getting in anyone's way. Perhaps next could be the Enter Sandman Double (or Triple) Play. The Warning have a wonderful relationship with Metallica’s Enter Sandman. 1) They did this video cover in their basement when they were 14, 12, and 9 that their father uploaded to UA-cam for the grandparents to see. 25M+ views later.... 2) Metallica invited Alessia Cara to participate in the Blacklist 30th Anniversary album during COVID. The international management agent that represents both Alessia and The Warning asked Metallica if both groups could be brought together for this project. The two groups wrote (Alessia in Canada, The Warning in Mexico), recorded, and produced an entirely new version of Sandman in only ten days that ended up being the lead track on Metallica’s anniversary album. The official music video for that is a great second video. (Or you could jump straight to #3 if you only care to do the double play). 3) The Warning then did their Sandman version at a 2022 concert at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City (aka CDMX). This live performance is epic. Several reactors have done these back to back in the same reaction video and been blown away. By your reactions so far, i think you might really enjoy this.
@PhilZero the warning name came from an imaginary album they had in mind. They had a picture of the album. That was many years ago before they became a band. The first time they were going to play as a band at school, they needed a name. They decided to use the name of the imaginary album. But yes, the Wawas sounds catchy.
The bass is often overlooked in this song. THe fill ins and the figures during the chorus are great and just help you reaching the peak. Excellent Bass lines here.. and performance of course.
Another outstanding reaction and analysis! One of the other hallmarks of their songs is some part where the audience can sing along after the first time they hear it. That's going to be mindblowing when they play huge stadiums.
If this one gets ya teary. I think MARTIRIO will do it also.. it's in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish but I think it's one of their most powerful songs. The Vocals/harmonies/wailing at the end gets me teary eyed Everytime.. Someday Martirio is going to shake Stadium's, 60,000 people singing Oooo. whoo ohohoh (whatever that part) Yep powerful 🌎✌️
"You've been Warned!" means that the last Warning song you hear will be your new favorite. It's really common. They are excellent writers, composers, and performers. None of their songs sound the same.
Thank you Phil! Musical muggles like myself are very grateful for your simplified, understandable explanations of the complexities of a good rock song. 😁 Also...have you ever noticed how ALL songs from The Warning have a definite, often dramatic finish? Another sign of great songwriting, I imagine.
BAD NEWS for plenty reactors out there… if this reaction is the standard, wow congrats it had it all. “Ale, Ale, Ale…!!! Priceless. Greetings from México ❤️🇲🇽
OH I'm so glad I watched to the end. Phil you've called out exactly WHY I'm a The Warning fan. They BRING IT. Every time. No matter what. And they have done so since before they were teenagers. The songs are great, the performances are great, yeah. You can find that almost anywhere. But the amount of commitment they bring: emotional, physical, heck, *intellectual* - to every recording and particularly to every performance - you don't see *that* every day, if not ever. Like a lot of other commenters here I'm an old guy who came back to rock in a big way because of The Warning.
Respect bruh! What a great video! Today I just learned a couple of things thanks to you. TWA let's take this channel high where it's meant to be. Thanks Phil!
Your description of The Warning’s modern take on Rock music is exactly how I feel about AlterBridge. Some classic rock call backs , combined with modern metal overtones and undertones, creative songwriting and beautiful interesting bridges, great harmonies and epic soaring choruses. They just don’t write a bad song! 💪
The first time I listen to "Choke" I was literally choked up. It was the first single out of Error album. Not only the production is waayyy up there compared to their previous albums, but the song writing is also enhanced significantly. "Choke" hit the soft spot in my soul since the first listen.
Phil, as your channel gets more popular please don't ever change! LOL Love your raw and honest reactions to The Warning songs/videos. I get very excited when I see a new one show up in my subscription list. I want to save them to look forward to them but I can't and have to watch them right away! I'm very happy to hear that you're going to be seeing them live. Can't wait to get a reaction video to that experience. I've got tickets to see them at their Boston show and can't wait. I suspect it's already on your "to be watched" list but I just want to put in another request for you to cover their "Hell You Call A Dream" live from Pepsi Center video. Thanks again Phil!
I love your reactions to The Warning. I learn a lot about their music that no other reactor does. You break down their music so I can kinda understand how they come up with their music. These ladies are a special band to me. To be so talented, skilled with their instruments, skilled in song writing, an amazing stage presence and wonderful personalities at such a young age is just amazing to me. Remember Ale at only 19 and the youngest of the sisters is an amazing bass player. She not only has a signature bass but her own color for that bass. Pau at 22 is absolutely one of the best drummers I have ever seen. And of course at 24 Dany is an absolute incredible front woman, guitarist and lead singer. These ladies are going to be rock legends in my opinion. 🎸🤘🏻⚡️
For a long time this was my favorite vocal performance by far by Dany , then Hell You Call a Dream live from the Pepsi Arena came out, now that is my favorite.
For what it's worth, your "big sister" Elizabeth also reacted to and analyzed this one. She also was very captivated by the composition as well as the vocals and performance. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's clear she admires these ladies.
Thanks, Phil, for another superb breakdown. Your reaction didn't seem like a 20-minute video. In fact, it went over so quickly, making me realising oh no, I have to wait at least another week for your next reaction. I am so happy that you got your tickets for The Warning. I actually flew 3742 miles for my first The Warning concert from Liverpool to Texas. I am sure you will enjoy the headlining show by The Warning more than the supporting role as there is something about a smaller venue, making the whole experience more intimate plus their set list will be longer. 3 songs from the 'ERROR ' album, 1 song fro 'queen of the murder scene ' album. Let's try a recent one of their forthcoming album releasing June 28th. He'll you call a dream live at the Pepsi centre or Automatic Sun at the Pal Norte Festival. A studio track over a live performance. Hopefully this will give you an indication of where they are now with their music although this is the first time they worked with other people writing songs as an experiment. 4 months to catch up on 10 years of music by The Warning before the concert. Best ramp up those reactions, mate😊. Thanks Phil, yet again. 🤟
This song was my first introduction to The Warning, actually the OMV, but there was no turning back! Love your reactions, and how you dive into the song! Keep it up...waiting for the next one!
I was lucky enough to get a front row spot right in front of Dany & Saiki at the BandMaid x The Warning show in Japan! Sang my heart out during CHOKE with tears in my eyes! Getting to see two incredible singers from two different bands at the same night from front row was overwhelming. I later also cried during BAND-MAID's performance of YOLO 😭😭😭
Phil another great reaction unlike any other. Each time we learn more about why their musicianship and songwriting is so good. Coincidentally, your big sister also reacted to TW’s Choke a couple of months ago. Only her second TW reaction though. She’s got some catching up to do. Agree with someone else’s comments I saw here that you should take a look at their newer songs ahead of the concerts you’re going to see. One that I know I you’ll really like: Hell you Call a Dream official live from the Pepsi Center in Mexico. It’s phenomenal and was just dropped in March. You’ll see them bring the energy up a level, especially Dany’s voice and you will absolutely love watching Pau on the drums and Ale absolutely driving the whole song on her bass. A+ reaction once again. Thx!
the only 2 songs i can " rank " are Free Falling as 1st song and Survive as 2nd from Rock Band 4. been Twa for 6 yrs now and never been disappointed. They are also more than just a great band, they inspire people in so many ways and 1 is that music is for everyone and if you like it, it doesn't matter who is playing. Since your Canadian i need to alert you to a Cold Front on the west coast in B.C. Canada and the band causing it are called Freeze The Fall. Some of us TWA found and have been supporting them on their debut EP called Thrones. Pro tip to you, if you want an interview just ask them.
This was my initial song to the band and it is still in the TOP 5 without a doubt, to hear Dany's voice so clean in those ascents is simply impressive because of how often he makes them without much time to breathe and recover.
I can’t wait to see your channel get the recognition it deserves!! You are my favorite!! Thank you for all your hard work. I always end up learning so much ❤
The Wawas is the band this girls interpret in the "Que mas quieres" video as a wedding band that plays in that video where "La Dani" marries. The Wawas plays in suits... so funny. Phill, an amazing review and that you say "this is my favorite song now" happens a lot of times with The warning.
Great reaction and analysis! They have better vocabularies than many Americans their age. When was the last time you heard the word rapacity used in a song (Money)? Recommend Hell You Call a Dream live from Pepsi Center CDMX to see Dany really stretch her voice. 😎👍

100% agree. I was wondering why Phil's reactions are so much more engaging than other channels, despite how long his videos are. And I think you hit the nail on the head. He's obviously very knowledgeable, able to laugh at himself and not take things too seriously. He just has this chill and laid-back demeanor, like someone you wanna hang out with and be friends with lol. I think a lot of people at his level of expertise get this pretentious attitude of "I'm better than you", but you can tell Phil just wants to share his love of music.

First, love your reaction/analysis on this video. But can we just say how awesome Ale’s bass work is! Now, I am a HUGE Pau fan, but DAMN these girls are perfect!!❤
A lot of their songs give me chills or make me want to tear up. So powerful. And on a side note, I've recently bought my 4th pair of headphones and with these I can really pick out the things you mentioned happening between the three of them. These headphones really match up well with my hearing. Also, now I have to go back and listen to every song I've ever heard lol
"Wear your tears like jewelry" and "Dry your tears cause I'm a weapon, weapons never weep". Two sentences from two songs that perfectly describe the same mood while still suggesting a way out. It just illustrates how these ladies have a way with words that connects with people of all ages and walks of life!
Thanks Phil. You’re the only reactor I heard (so far) that mentioned that awesome 2nd verse. It’s my favorite in that whole song. That ‘pull back’ or ‘restraint’ coming off that heavy riff / chorus was so lovely. So melodic. ‘My lungs’. My ears are happy every time I listen to that whole section. It really puts the emotional stamp in the whole song. Dany really pushed her vocals here when Pau asked her if she can do it. 👍🏼 Btw, FYI they put a lot of lyric / words in their songs that you don’t usually hear or see used from other songwriting. You kinda need the dictionary when you listen to their songs. Lol

I love this. They understand when to add stuff, and when to just leave it out. This is an underrated writing skill imo
@@PhilZeroYou will also appreciate that Dany hits an F5 in HELL YOU CALL A DREAM (commonly referred to as HYCAD)
I think you’re the best reactor I’ve seen. Very informative and extremely entertaining. Keep it up!
Thank you! 💜🤘
These girls leave me crying every other song. The composition, timing and tone hits your soul regardless of how many times you have heard it.
Exactly what I told them when I met them in 2022
TW are masters of ‘negative space’ - often verses are just accompanied by drums and bass (super well composed between them as you pointed out), then pre-chorus often just guitar (HYCAD a great example of this).
The Warning is so intentional with everything they do, I'm sure their combining old and new writing styles is intentional as well. Great reaction BTW.
That bass is beyond cool.
They're
⚡️THE WARNING⚡️
and their own style. That's what sets them apart from all other bands!
I'm new to the fandom but I believe "Las Wawas" is the name they call their tour bus?
Yes, it's the name of the tour bus, La wawa. Eventually, it's been used as a reference to the band, las wawas.
The Warning Wagon
Besides in the Qué Más Quieres music video, the band playing at the wedding it´s called "Las Wawas" as a reference to it haha
Is it just me or is Las Wawas sounding more and more catchy as an actual band name
@PhilZero the warning name came from an imaginary album they had in mind. They had a picture of the album. That was many years ago before they became a band. The first time they were going to play as a band at school, they needed a name. They decided to use the name of the imaginary album.
But yes, the Wawas sounds catchy.
Ale has talked about getting some of her ideas for bass lines from the classical music she loves listening too
The bass is often overlooked in this song.
Certainly the best songwriting of the band.
Thanks, Phil, for another fantastic reaction! 🤘🏻👍🏻
Thank YOU for hanging out here! 💜🤘
"The second verse is so tasteful"... Oh yes, indeed!!!
😉😊🎶
TASTEFULLLL 💜🤘🥳
These ladies bring tears to my eyes more than id like to admit! 🤫🤣😂 Another GREAT reaction dude!!!!! Loved it!
BAD NEWS for plenty reactors out there… if this reaction is the standard, wow congrats it had it all.
“Ale, Ale, Ale…!!! Priceless.
Greetings from México ❤️🇲🇽
That "drifting out of trust" bit hits me in the emotions too.
It hits different 😎👀🤙
OH I'm so glad I watched to the end. Phil you've called out exactly WHY I'm a The Warning fan. They BRING IT. Every time. No matter what. And they have done so since before they were teenagers. The songs are great, the performances are great, yeah. You can find that almost anywhere. But the amount of commitment they bring: emotional, physical, heck, *intellectual* - to every recording and particularly to every performance - you don't see *that* every day, if not ever. Like a lot of other commenters here I'm an old guy who came back to rock in a big way because of The Warning.
Boy, you really know your job and you enrich every reaction with your knowledge, too cool.
THANK YOU!! 💜🤘🥳
Respect bruh! What a great video! Today I just learned a couple of things thanks to you. TWA let's take this channel high where it's meant to be. Thanks Phil!
i believe i teared up the first time i listened to Choke, a live version ... so, i feel ya
It hits different 😭
Damn Phil. I could watch one of your analysis/reaction videos everyday. You need to win the lottery or something so work doesn’t interfere ⚡️🤘
🤣🤣 I would love that. Thank you for hanging out here!! 🤘💜
Every new song will be your new favorite
When you listen this song in a concert, Dany's voice hits you like a truck, this and hell you call a dream leaves you with a jaw wide open
never clicked a video so fast in my life
hhahha
Me too
Same 😂
The first time I listen to "Choke" I was literally choked up. It was the first single out of Error album. Not only the production is waayyy up there compared to their previous albums, but the song writing is also enhanced significantly. "Choke" hit the soft spot in my soul since the first listen.
Phil, as your channel gets more popular please don't ever change! LOL
Love your raw and honest reactions to The Warning songs/videos.
THANK YOU! 💜🤘 and don’t worry, I don’t think I’ve changed since I was 12 😂
I love your reactions to The Warning.
Thanks for a great and comprehensive breakdown as per usual. This band has a unique way of composing their music and it hits the spot every time. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
For what it's worth, your "big sister" Elizabeth also reacted to and analyzed this one. She also was very captivated by the composition as well as the vocals and performance. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's clear she admires these ladies.
Absolutely a great reaction, I just love how you break everything down with such humor and wit. 👍👍🔥🔥🤘🤘
THANK YOU 💜🤘
Insane bro! This was the first song that i listened from TW over a year ago, after the first chorus i became a fan!
Viva las wawas!!! ⚡⚡⚡
I loved he used the translator for us the hispanics
He speaks Spanish and his wife is Mexican. Check out his Narcisista video! Lots of fun 😁
Thx!
Thank you!! 💜🤘 defs more to come. Gonna be a busy summer!! 🤠
Phil - my god- your reactions are so eloquent and robust- love you bro
Thank you brother! 🤘💜🤠
the only 2 songs i can " rank " are Free Falling as 1st song and Survive as 2nd from Rock Band 4. been Twa for 6 yrs now and never been disappointed.
We would LOVE THAT!!!!
"The last TW song you listen to is your favorite TW song." ⚡️🫶🤘
This is very true 🤠🤘💜
This song, and this performance, give me chills every time! What an amazing band.
In the studio, Dany does that part. It's only live that Ale sings that part.
I always end up learning so much ❤
Thank YOU for the kind words and for hanging out here! 💜🤘
Ale is an Spector artist, she plays an
Spector USA NS-5XL Bass Guitar - Ale's Inferno
The Wawas is the band this girls interpret in the "Que mas quieres" video as a wedding band that plays in that video where "La Dani" marries. The Wawas plays in suits... so funny. Phill, an amazing review and that you say "this is my favorite song now" happens a lot of times with The warning.
THANK YOU! 🤠🤘🤘💜
Great reaction and analysis! They have better vocabularies than many Americans their age. When was the last time you heard the word rapacity used in a song (Money)? Recommend Hell You Call a Dream live from Pepsi Center CDMX to see Dany really stretch her voice. 😎👍
Love your reviews man!! New follower
Thank you!! 🤘🤠💜
Everyone cheers really loud when Ale sings and it's every time. They Warnify the songs.
I f'ing love your amount of knowledge and nerdyness without soundig pretentious; every time you explain something I understand easily. Also noticing your acknowledgment of your Spanish speaking viewers
Regarding the Spanish thing, check out his Narcisista video -- lots of fun. He can speak Spanish, and his wife is Mexican.
@@LorraineBaker-vm9vl yeah, I saw it and I'm sure after that he gained a lot of Spanish speaking viewers
Muchas gracias. You guys are making me blush. Thank you for the kind words 🙏🏻
I’m glad my intentions are coming through well enough. My only goal is to highlight details so that everyone can experience and enjoy the music in new or different ways 💜🤘
Top Tier reactor ⚡️
🙏🏻🙏🏻💜
Good to see you at it again Phil.
Great reaction and breakdown Phil! I absolutely love your reactions to The Warning! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
THANK YOU 💜🤘
No cambies en tú forma de reaccionar, eres de los mejores.
“Disciple” from this same concert is one you will enjoy.
First, love your reaction/analysis on this video. But can we just say how awesome Ale’s bass work is! Now, I am a HUGE Pau fan, but DAMN these girls are perfect!!❤
Thank you! They’re all incredibly talented. I was Team Pau, but now I’m like… DANY?!?!?! 🤠💜🤘
Hell yeah. Experiencing music in different headphones is one of my favourite things to do 🤣🤘
"Wear your tears like jewelry" and "Dry your tears cause I'm a weapon, weapons never weep". Two sentences from two songs that perfectly describe the same mood while still suggesting a way out. It just illustrates how these ladies have a way with words that connects with people of all ages and walks of life!
Phil does not disappoint with a superior quality breakdown and reaction, as per usual. This is what a pro looks like!
THANK YOU!!! “Pro” is a bit of a stretch. Just a nerd who has an obsessive love for music 🤠💜🤘
Btw, FYI they put a lot of lyric / words in their songs that you don’t usually hear or see used from other songwriting. You kinda need the dictionary when you listen to their songs. Lol
This live video showed up on my feed last September and instantly fell into the rabbit hole. Seeing them this September and I am stoked.
The song 23 from this concert might make you cry also
The warning named their tour bus La WaWa and from their the fans started calling them Las WaWas its that simple cheers buddy for this and all your great reactions to The Warning 👍👍🤟🤟🔥🔥
