Hi, I would make the elastic casing differently. When you cut the rectangle, fold it in half along the width, sew the long open edge closed, turn the tube inside out, and iron it. All the stitching will be hidden inside this way. I don't love the look of topstitching on silk, and it will be trickier to do nicely. Sara :)
Hi, without the batting/wadding it would be really floppy and thin. It wouldn't feel comfortable when stretched over the eyes. And I suspect more light would get through. I hope that helps. Sara :)
