Imagine seeing Metallica with Cliff Burton on their Master of Puppets tour opening, then this. What a night that would have been. The contrast of Metallica's thrash in jeans and T-shirts followed by the production of this era of Ozzy. What a great pairing.
Ozzy, & Bob Daisley both said they didn’t like Ultimate Sin. Why? That album and tour kicked azz. 5 tracks on that album got major airplay during that time.
As I watch this now, I can't help but laugh as you don't even see anyone else on stage until halfway through the song. What we get to see of Jake playing can be measured in seconds. This sure is a Sharon production. Ha.
I actually always thought it was cool. Phil Soussan came out after first verse, drum riser coming down too, then Jake appears as they hit the real chorus with that cool guitar riff. Kinda slowly introduced the band at dynamic points of the song. If you watch the whole concert Jake gets plenty of showtime .

I was at this concert in Kansas City cause I’m from Kansas City 💪. It was badass. The Ultimate sin video was shot here in Kansas City at a big builders house here with all their horses on the their ranch.
Jake was a super shredder and the solo at the end sounded even faster than it does on the album. So it already sounds so fast and clean and then he does it even faster and still clean live. What a showman. The camera should have been on him the entire time instead of on Ozzy clapping and delivering substandard singing.
This intro is different from the way I remember seeing the concert live on MTV. The concert film when from Ozzy looking at the moon and howling to the live concert stage and a giant demon/devil (the one on the album cover) is being lowered down by Crane flapping it's wings closed in a wrapped way (the way it looked of the production of its time in 1986) and when the demon/devil gets on stage the wings slowly open up and everyone sees Ozzy sitting in its lap and Ozzy is doing his thing making scary faces and so, then a bright stage light and a bit of pyro Ozzy is up on his feet and walking around like you saw here in this video after that pre-recorded segment and the concert starts. The reason you didn't see the band was they had to remove that demon/devil prop and it was huge - bigger and taller than the drum riser. For whatever reason, Ozzy did that show and tour barefooted.
Ozzy went from having these great , gothic looking stage sets to this boring stage. That was enough to do it for me. Guess I was lucky to see the bark at the moon tour.
