Agree with all the comments on this video except one. Keep experimenting with your videos, style, intros, music, etc. Cookie cutter is boring. Each hike is unique in it’s beauty and perspective and so the video should be as fluid in its perspective and treatment as the trail and water is along the way. Keep getting after it and keep your channel you. That’s why we started watching and keep watching.
I gotta say Cole, you share the most interesting and articulate comments. I can't thank you enough for supporting me in my efforts to bring the best nature films that I can to the youtube audience. Each film is unique, and also a learning process for me... C ya on the trail...
Thankyou kindly. I truly do find inspiration in nature, and encourage others to as well. Maybe I will bring back the gator ranking system, lol, but 9.7 sounds good to me!
My pleasure, I love Dingmans Falls which is one of many beautiful waterfalls in that area worth exploring. Thanks for the comment and I hope you are able to make it out there!
Yay we’ve been to Dingman’s falls many times when the kids were smaller, because it’s so easily accessible! They did close the road down due to corona, last year there were so many people there, the rangers had to set up a station and direct the parking on weekends and holidays. I’ve never seen it so busy! We didn’t even dare to go there lol. We also love Raymondskill Falls and Childs Park was our most favorite, but unfortunately that one has been closed since 2018 due to storm damage:( Bushkill Falls are really impressive and beautiful, but of course that’s quite touristy.
I would suspect the park service would prefer to keep the road permanently closed if they could. I would imagine visitation would be reduced by more than half if people knew it was a 1.5 mile walk to see the falls. Love Dingmans and my experience there was amazing which I think is pretty obvious, lol. I Dont think I would have had the same experience with tons of people around. Places are going to start getting really packed soon, so I will be looking to get into some deeper woods. Happy hiking to you and yours Eva!
Thank you !!! An excellent video, very well done and so beautiful. I'm From Maryland and l am always drawn to the parks of Pa. I've been to over 50 between the two our 2 states. This one is one of the top of the list to go one day very soon. Thanks for all the great info and for expressing and appreciating God's creations..... He is amazing and quite an artist and creator.... God Bless You and I'll be following your next steps.....♥️😉
Thank you so much Green Eyes that was a very kind comment. I'm looking forward to checking out some more places in Maryland this year, myself. Dingmans Falls and the whole general area around there has much to offer if you like waterfalls it is one of the premiere locations in the east coast.
Thanks Mary for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. It was my pleasure to make this video, hopefully you will get there someday, it is an amazing location. Take care my friend.🙂
BTW, you should really check out Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. It's super unique. I used to work there as a biologist. I live in CO now, as the name gives away, but I lived in your area for decades. That was one of my favorite places. To see the city skyline as you're walking through this very unique ecosystem is an amazing juxtaposition. They also have prickly pear cactus (who knew, in NYC?) and Chestnut trees (rare) along with hundreds of birds if you go the right time of year. It's right on the Atlantic Flyway, a major migration route. We saw things so rare like fulvous whistling ducks...you'll see hardcore birders and most love talking about their finds.
I would love to get up there at some point. I was fortunate to discover a colony of Eastern prickly pear cactus along some cliffs above the deleware river in New Jersey called Thomas F Breeden Nature Preserve.
Thank you for taking us along on this wonderful hike. I will definitely be doing this this spring. I live in Maryland and have been planning on taking some hikes farther from home. This will be a 3.5 hour ride from home so it will entail a night's stay in a nearby hotel. Can you recommend another place to visit in the area while I am there? Love your videos. They are so well done and inspiring.
Thanks so much for your comments and feedback. There is a series of impressive waterfalls within the Delaware Water Gap National recreation area. You should also look into Raymondskill Falls, a tremendous powerful waterfall - PA's largest - is very close by, also check out a place called George F Childs Park that has been closed for some time but should be opening in the spring. Theres an overload of trails, falls, and attractions in the area!
Normally, a long hike to the falls is not necessary. There is roadway access and a parking lot at the top of the falls. You will have to do some downhill hiking to see all the falls, then an uphill hike back up to the parking lot.
Thanks for that information. I think for me personally, on that day the road walk added to the experience, as the trail system around the falls is relatively short.
Beautiful place. Nice video. I also agree with your comments, except one. I won't go into that except to say, the world is an amazing place and the forces that shaped it are awesome and acted over a period of time that are impossible for the human brain to grasp.
Yes I pretty much agree with those sentiments, in fact I often ponder about the mystery of how much is truly unknown to man or as you said literally incomprehensible to our human brains.
@@WALTERZOLNA I am scientifically minded. I have been my entire life. I have read a lot, and in the last few years, have watched a lot of videos on UA-cam about geology and the universe. This is the thing. Over an immense amout of time, just about anything is possible. Standing here at at this point in time, our ability to look backward and "see it all in our mind's eye" is hard for geologists, let alone people people who are not equipped educationally to understand it. Anyway, nice job again with this video. All you need now are drone shots! LOL. Did you know that some will automatically follow you? Wouldn't that be special when you are up on top of a mountain walking across a ridge!
I had a feeling you were coming from that angle, I like to hear different people's take on things. I actually do have a drone and about 10 -15 videos where I use it, but I have been having technical difficulties with it recently. I'm a huge fan of drone photography myself...
Great video. Big fan and watch every one. Just a few suggestions: 1. Don't play music when talking. If you do, turn down the music more than you think. As a viewer it's extremely hard to focus on two things at once, so if music plays it should be very low. I'd use no music at all, or play very chill music in between the talking. 2. Pick an intro and stick with that style. It seems to change in every video. Having a dedicated intro would help to develop a cohesive brand. I like the chill openings over the more rambunctious ones. The videos are "Zen" so...it fits better. Thanks for the effort involved.
@@WALTERZOLNA No problem! Still will watch if you keep the current format, but I think those could improve it. Even if you watch Les Stroud he doesn't really talk while music is playing. The music plays in between. BTW, do you have a background making films? The angles are nice, and you do a really pleasing job.
I'm basically entirely self taught in regards to creating these nature films. You might be very surprised to know that I only got my first " smart phone" alittle over two years ago. I still consider myself to be very functionality illiterate when it comes to technology. You could reference my first video- Austin T Bkakeslee-for a laugh and to see how far things have come along. I attempt to make the type of films that I would enjoy watching as a viewer myself. I have picked up some tips and tricks along the way and incorporated concepts I have seen others use as well. I started the channel because I love nature and filming it allowed me to tap into my creative side that I had lost touch with. Editing and obsessing over small details may be what helps to set my vids apart from some others. The average 12- 15 min vid takes me from 15. - 25 hours to produce, so I guess you could call it a labor of love. I consider these films to be my artwork and I hope that they inspire others to experience the joys and thrills that I do from the natural world. Views and subscribers are excellent and a confirmation that people appreciate my work but ultimately I am first focused on creating the best content I can with the tools that I have and continually challenging myself. Just wanted to get this out for anyone who is curious. Again I thankyou for your continued support, and appreciate your feedback!
Ricketts Glen is the best overall experience. It's quite the hike but amazingly rewarding. Bushkill is very beautiful but touristy. Dingmans is in my opinion the single most beautiful waterfall in PA, but it's just 2 falls where the others have multiple falls. It depends on what you are looking for.

Definitely a place worth checking out if you can, and also much more to see in the immediate area in terms of more waterfalls and scenic attractions.
On my list for large Oil painting, thank you Gator for your dedication in sharing these wonderfully beautiful places.
I appreciate that so much Bill thank you! Good luck with your painting, Dingman's Falls is beautiful.
A waterfall all to yourself is always the best.
Missing PA spring! Glad you're there to remind me of it!
Thank you Krisp! So flattered that you continue to watch my channel. Waterfalls definitely have a calming relaxing effect on the soul...
