I think a very important piece of what the film is doing is presenting moments where we do like and even root for Trump and then contrasting that both with his horrible acts and behavior within the film as well as all we know about him in real life. It forces us to see him not as just a villain, but rather a more complex human who just isn’t a good person. I think that’s also just a good portrait of Trump as a man. He’s cruel and dangerous but still occasionally has moments of humanity where he is sometimes even quite funny. Very difficult to deal with a powerful person who is like that.
