Command & Conquer is a RTS(Real-Time Strategy) game, where you build a base, gather resources, build armies and kill your enemies, expand and build more bases, etc. In these genre, BGMs tend to function as a background to set the atmosphere rather than making an impression at the front, which is why this has a rather short loop. Crushing enemy infantries with your tank while listening to this is a real endorphin rush.
As someone who grew up on Command & Conquer, Frank Klepacki is one of the GOATs for me. His music is as much the sound of my childhood and teenaged years as any band or singer I followed in the mainstream/on the radio. And yeah, C&C started off in 1995 where Klepacki did most of the soundtrack at like 19 years old IIRC? So the 'garage band' feel of the soundtrack kind of comes from the fact that he literally came straight out of the garage and into the studio lol
Hey Jesse! Glad you enjoyed this one. I grew up with command and conquer and the music has always stood out for me. It's just fun, especially for a military RTS style game. You previously, when listening to Hell March from C&C: Red Alert, watched Frank Klepacki play live. Looking forward to your reactions to future C&C requests!
It makes me so happy to see any Command & Conquer on this channel. Frank Klepacki's music is some of my favourite in all of video games. This game was released in 1995 and developed by Westwood Studios. Other C&C games did follow before this studio would eventually go on to be acquired by EA hence the EA logo on the thumbnail.
KineticSoup here. Glad you liked the song! Looking forward to what you think of the others when they make it through the queue. This franchise is a hidden gem!
Unlocked some core memories on this one. I forgot just how good CnC music was - I was probably only around 7 when I was originally playing it. This is going to send me into a rabbit hole at work.
I'm so excited to see you reacting to Command and Conquer music! The CnC games are ones that have stuck with me throughout my entire gaming lifetime, and the soundtracks are some of the best in gaming, Full Stop.
The first game, the one this song is from, came out in 1995 as a PC exclusive. Frank Klepaki has been almost solely responsible for the soundtracks of the games since their inception, with some exceptions. The music for the games, for the most part, are designed to be Background music, ambiance and accompaniment to the gameplay itself, so you'll see less vocals and more loops. I highly encourage you to look threw more from this series. Full Stop isn't, by far, the only hit this franchise has to offer, and has a little something for every rock lover.
One of those games I bought off completely randomly as a young kid, and guess what happened. It blew my mind. Literally and in too many ways to list. What an amazing time to be alive. And with this insane soundtrack with the endless bangers? If this is not inspiring for a teenager youth, then I will never know what is. Real time Strategy with tanks and armies at its absolute best as well. It all started here. Who cares about school when you have games like this to play. (lol) Hopefully you do the rest of the ost one day as well !! The composer was a professional drummer since he was 11 years old and won numerous awards for many of the game osts he was in. Here he was only 18-19 years old or so, experimenting. He was at the top of his game, with many top companies at the time wanting him. Extreme talent, mindblowing!
This track was on of my favorites to listen to on the N64 version. There was a mission where you played as a single ops unit demolishing buildings with C4 explosives and this track played throughout the whole thing.
You did Hell March, which is from the sister series Command and Conquer: Red Alert, but same composer, Frank Klepacki. Interestingly Hell March was originally being composed for this game as a theme for the Brotherhood of Nod but Westwood decided they wanted to use it for Red Alert instead.
I remember being blown away by C&C's music when I first heard it--this kind of of music was absolutely unheard of in video games at around that time. It helps that the music usually slaps too lol
God, the original 1995 Command & Conquer was one of my first video games, on the...Sega Genesis? This track gave me such a rush of back then. Landing on the beach of the first and second GDI mission. I recently learned that the first three C&C games are on Steam and picked them up. I hope more of the game's OST makes it on the channel.
The thing to keep in your head about the C&C tunes also the era, this was around what ... 1993/4, the rest of the tracks keep this sort of theme. try more from the "Tiberian Suns" for fan takes.. live with Frank Kelpaki
One of the songs of my childhood since i played this game ALOT as a kid. when they did the remaster i heard they had to actually look into a garage where they stored alot of the original game data and lost quite alot of it. As for Frank Klepacki, he's just a god when it comes to RTS music.
Frank Klepacki is best known for his guitar/metal work, most famously with Hell March, but I really love his synths too. For songs focusing more on the synths, I would definitely recommend Rain in the Night from C&C, Mud from Red Alert, and Scouting from Tiberian Sun.
Ah yes, the theme of 10 buggies running around your base. The C&C soundtrack is a childhood favourite of mine. I would highly advidse listenin to "Act on Istinct" which is basically the main theme of the series and has been remixed a lot of times.
Heck yeah more C&C! This is from the original Command & Conquer from back in 1995. I remember playing this after playing Dune 2 and having my mind blown by the video cutscenes. As a fun aside, about 4 years ago, Frank got together with a fan group called The Tiberian Sons to do a set of music from the C&C games at MAGFest. This was one of the songs that they played. EA must have been impressed by it, because they got the band in to do a studio take for the C&C1 and Red Alert 1 remaster as a bonus sound track. The Tiberian Sons ended up putting the whole set up on youtube as a single video as well as a few videos of individual songs, so here's a recording of Warfare (Full Stop) live: ua-cam.com/video/OO-xiOgHWMc/v-deo.html (As a word of warning, there's flashing lights in the video, both from the show lighting and overlaid graphics)
Of the 17 C&C games (including Mobile games) Frank Klepacki has composed 14 of them. The only games he wasn’t involved with were C&C: Generals, C&C4: Tiberian Twilight and C&C: Rivals (mobile game).
I'm glad you liked it, this is actually one of the best songs of Command and Conquer. You should take a look at the whole soundtracks of C&C and Red Alert and even Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. You'll find a whole universe of a very experimental music from the late 90's early 00's, mixing guitars, instrumental music, strings and synths into heavy rock and funk rythms and creating a very good warlike atmosphere/enviroment. Frank Klepacki is just a genious.
Oooh boi, i love OG Command and Conquer songs. I hope you'll check out more, like "Command and Conquer" and "No Mercy" my two favourites There's an unmistakeble vibe to the OST of these games, and i kinda miss it
Frank Klepacki is the Mick Gordon of RTS games
Frank Klepacki is a GOD

Stop giving me the feels.
You cannot imagine how much I miss Westwood Studios (the creators of C&C).
I'll never forgive EA for ruining them.

the two most iconic C&C tracks are "No Mercy" and "Hell March" absolutely worth a listen, there are official live performances of these on youtube
he did hell march, it blew his mind
Act on Instinct is the most iconic CnC song. It's the first song whenever you start a mission.

Ah ha, so you're the person we have to thank for these! Awesome!

This track is one of the earliest VGM tracks i can remember from my childhood. I remember my dad playing C&C on the PS1. Good times

As much as I appreciate the originals, the remakes of these songs from the CnC remaster were S tier.

There's also the remastered version of this song, released along with the game's remaster in 2020.

I come back to this one occasionally. I really hope Jesse does more C&C or Red Alert eventually. These tracks are absolutely FIRE.
I'm hoping to see some Red Alert 2 songs pop up as well. That's the C&C game I commanded and conquered back in the day.
I only really listen to video game music these days. Heres another song and composer to add to the long list lol. Its awesome.
Klepacki is king, this is actually one of his less known songs.
Frank beat the man that Mick Gordon is basically sitting in for now back in 1996
do more Command and Conquer i reccomend songs like mechanical man no mercy and Command and Conquer (a song form command and conquer renagade)
frank klepacki: act on instinct next please. :)
