Interesting. My daughter bought some of the cookies from Buddy's store, for a friend's birthday. No one could even eat them because they tasted terrible. They were very commercial and cheap tasting. Not like the quality we expected from a master baker.

Difference between buddy and duff is that all buddy thinks, is "Win" and on the other hand, duff thinks "create" duff, absorbs the losses and fixes the things he did wrong on the cake. He takes a loss as a learning opportunity, but buddy just thinks about winning, winning, and winning. If he loses, he throws a tantrum. Duff is always the winner in my books.
Duff will always be the fan favorite. No one (or at least almost no one) doesn’t like Buddy. Who cares that Buddy keeps winning a *rigged* game. He threw a hissy fit the first episode when he didn’t win. If they pick Duff, they’ll lose their show because Buddy had about the personality of a 5 year old.

Buddy didn’t have to step out to make it he was given it because he was his father’s oldest boy he may have worked in the bakery before but he didn’t have to make it on his own merit based on worldwide EARNED respect hell he doesn’t even create his own recipes he doesn’t step out the box everything a wedding cake or stacked cake
You are DEAD ON. Nothing better than a chef that came from the bottom up.
If you watch Cake Boss you will see many incidences where Buddy uses his creativity to make something over the top. He's not afraid to try something never been done before. This is Not Duff's forte. He is primarily an artist. But not a baker. That part is mediocre at best. Buddy knows all the special recipes and his tastes are completely delicious; AND THAT IS THE POINT OF BAKING!!
Its not always eccentric and wacky cakes, Many times the show featured Buddy doing basic cake techniques and decorations

I guess Im standing up for Buddy, I think Buddy's desert was better because he offered variety and carnival I do think of funnel cakes or fried koolaid or candy bars. Dolce de leche icecream is unique flavor and thats probably why caramel icecream isnt super popularly sold in stores. His could be good, but from the sounds of it I know Ill probably like Buddy's powdersugar donut more.
