I would rather say 'black flag', because when it happens, there's no more 'racing' for him... 'Red flag' is more of when he gets a cop telling him off about crossing while wearing earphones.
When I’m walking my dog in the hustle and bustle of the city I only use one earbud. wearing both is only good for when you’re inside a train, bus, vehicle or working out periodt.
I wish the best and fastest recovery to the guy. But it has to be said. Wearing headphones is one thing. But common sense is another. How do you approach a railroad crossing and not see the flashing light and lowered safety barrier? It’s also a good idea to looks both ways before crossing. It only takes 2 seconds.
Yea a lot of people don’t realize how fast these trains can be going too. I’ve been on the Niagara route and seen it doing nearly 160 in some spots. They can really come out of nowhere
freeways are typically 80 meters wide and have hundreds of cars passing every minute the lakeshore go track is 6 meters wide and has at most 2 trains passing every 30 minutes hardly an apt comparison. its safer than crossing a street lol

@@nataku3160 well they wouldn't allow a car to go 100kph in a residential area so a train might need a pedestrian barrier at some point. Or at least a big flashing light pointed at perfect teenager height right into the eyes.
@@jaybefaulky4902 I believe at some point all the level crossings between Aldershot and Union will either be grade separated or have a pedestrian crossing.
if your saying he is going to fast, this is the allowed speed limit, if yours saying he could have stoped, the train cant stop at a 100km without like 500-1000m
He's 22yrs old and still don't know you look both way before crossing a road. Super lucky
well deserved life lesson, he was sparred
In Toronto, you don't need to wear anything on your ears. There is so much action and yelling going on, you don't want to miss it.
Wearing earbuds at a railway crossing is a red flag 🚩 my friend would say.

I never wear ear buds while riding my bike in the downtown core, you have to have all of your senses on high alert at all times.

@@skid-mark1863 I dunno. I seen a lot of morons driving with headphones. Maybe it's an Ontario thing?

Well, when you only have 2 brain cells...
Probably a two-bad-hit: wearing earphones AND stuck on his phone.
But that's just one of other plausible possibilities...
Clueless and unaware is the most dangerous

I once saw a kid wearing headphones, shades, reading a book with a cigarette in his hand.
Well… that’s a no brainer 🤦♀️The volume must of been on fully for the guy not to hear the train coming! How careless!
Either that or noise canceling earbuds
those are really good earbuds.
Also be alert and pay attention to the railway crossing signals.
It's mostly dangerous to wear earphones in public, well, it's safe to wear them in public if you're relaxing.
It's cruel to make obvious statements blaming the victim instead of the engineers and politicians who pinched pennies making an unsafe crossing.
@@cynthiakazmierzski8144 yeah they should have a pedestrian gate that opens like a normal gate and a crossing arm

this is the *exact* reason why we will never have high speed trains in Canada.

In Cowl Unit Productions's region?
CHARGE HIM! Only once charges starting getting handed down will pedestrians realize they have to use proper crossings and exercise some caution.
they do charge people, i guess he was a good boy
It's his own fault. It parents should have taught him better
That hurts
Imagine if we had pedestrian crossings across the freeways, that's what these are, these crossings need to be grade-separated for everyone's benefit.

Yet another symptom of how Ontario pinches every penny on public transit while blowing billions on highways to its infinite, bland suburbs.
Lucky! Make you don't get hit by any trains as you waiting for the crossings signals to be completely turned off.
