- This is the first of a series of videos covering out 16 night Baltic & Scandinavia Cruise on @POCruises Aurora. Find out what happens as we return to our favourite P & O Ship. This time we have freinds with us Bob & Holly of @InnocentsAbroad . This episode covers emabkation and 2 days at sea including a visit to Sindhu and our first formal night. Ken goes Cruising is a channel dedicated to sharing our experience of cruising. We have enjoyed 53 cruises since 1995. As well as sharing some factual and helpful information the idea behind this channel is to share our joy of cruising. My long suffering wife Lindsey is a very important part of our team. Since our retirement we had planned several bucket list cruises and so far we have only completed one of them. We have now started international cruising again and hope you will join us on our travels.

First time on Aurora, previously sailed on Britannia, Arvia and Iona. Looking forward to an adult only ship and a more traditional cruise feel.

I’m pleased to report that the crew no longer serve your food any longer and it’s all gone back to normal and self service.

@@KenGoesCruising We actually discussed this on the way home, 3 nights was a nice taster but not really long enough. Let’s see what next Summers sailings are like.
We’ve not tried Arcadia either, would you recommend her to sail on?
@@ALifeintheParks Arcadia has a similar feeling. She has a fantastic pub and theatre but no Andersons. There is a crows nest, Sindhu, ocean grill which is a sort of epicurean. I don't think she is quite as attractive as Aurora and she was in need of a refit which she gets in November this year. The atrium is very plain and a very small cinema on board. They have thermal spa pool on board which is nice but at an extra cost. We are looking to go on Arcadia again. Have you thought of trying Fred Olsen I would like it to P & O 25 years ago and I mean that in a good way things are just a little bit more special on board.
@@KenGoesCruising Many thanks for the advice, great to hear that Arcadia is having a refit. I won’t book until after that’s happened.
We very nearly went on the Fred Olsen that you were on in February but we decided on Marella because the weather in the Med would be better.
Sadly it rained every day but that’s cruising for you.
Consoling myself watching your vlog as didn’t get to go on regal Princess this week as have covid, denied boarding. Hoping insurance going to cover it. Any experience of this anyone?
We missed a cruise through COVID in 2022 Auroras first cruise after lockdown. I tested positive the day before we sailed. Full refund by the way of FCC in them days. I hope everything works out well for you.

Is it hard for an a American to sail on a P and O ship?
There was an issue with regards insurance requirements during COVID. That seems to have gone away now. I think Bob booked through P & O America.

My wife Teresa is vegetarian. How well does P& O accommodate v’s?
They cater very well for a number of dietary requirements including vegetarians. There are always options on menus in the various eateries.
