in my experience, both shani and rahu mahadasha is tough... but shani mahadasha toughness makes you a better person, while rahu mahadasha toughness brings sort of anxiety / bad speech / makes the person negative..
The worst combination is mahashani dasa and sade sati running simultaneously, pure hell. I have almost completed my sade sati in march 2025. As far as remedies, activate the mahavidya that controls these grahas: Shani - Ma Kali Rahu - Chinmasta Devi Ketu - Dhoomavati You need to find a good priest and have atleast 51000 japas done then a yagna, this will help alot.

Thank you, informative video discussing traits of each! I believe comparisons are difficult to make. All 3 bring their unique hardships and lessons. Plus most people don't complete rahu and ketu mahadashas in the same lifetime to experience opposite ends of this rahu-ketu spectrum. Having seen Ketu MD in my life - its hard core painful lessons, isolation, fears, loss of everything including one's identity that happens so intensely and fast. My Ketu was the worst. I was very young and made dumb and stupid decisions. I think if I had Ketu when I was older it would have gone much better. Wont get Shani in this lifetime. Sad because I have a good strong Saturn. Worried about Rahu as I will be old and dont want to be fearful. Hopefully Rahu will help my spiritual progress.

There's another technique that does not rely on the natal planets to the dasha. It looks at the ruler of the nakshatra of the planet. So you have to find the nakshatra of Saturn in your chart. Then find the ruler of that nakshatra. Now examine the ruler in your natal chart. How is it - good or bad? I was born halfway in Jupiter dasha and then Saturn dasha in my teens. It was tough but I did get solid results towards the end. Saturn does not deny.

My Ketu was the worst. I was very young and made dumb and stupid decisions. I think if I had Ketu when I was older it would have gone much better. Wont get Shani in this lifetime. There's another technique that does not rely on the natal planets to the dasha.
It looks at the ruler of the nakshatra of the planet.
So you have to find the nakshatra of Saturn in your chart. Then find the ruler of that nakshatra.
Now examine the ruler in your natal chart. How is it - good or bad?
