- 23 July 2016: Hi everyone; I didn't receive any notification about it, but apparently a copyright holder has made a claim (rather delayed; this video is 3 years old and no one seemed to have an issue with it before) on This is War, so UA-cam muted the track on this and the other version of the vid. I'm going to leave the videos up (sentimentality; this account is a UA-cam old lady now!), but I realize there's nothing I can do about this uploaded version of the video to get the track back. Maybe I can figure something out with the original file, but I'm not sure. This may be the end of the line for my This is War videos, I suppose. =(
Thank you again for all your amazing comments on the vid; for those of you who keep coming back, and to those of you who wanted to watch with the track un-muted, I sincerely apologize. =( This really sucks.

**Overdue, but WELL DONE all, for voting Colin to Best Drama Performance at January's NTAs! Hopefully he felt the love coming his way from all over the world! =)
I had a few stops and starts with songs I tried to use for a five-series retrospective, but in the end I kept coming back to this one. It fits the bill so well, and it gave me an opportunity to improve upon a few niggling bits which bother me about the my original version. I hope you enjoy it - and now I promise I'll get back to working on the vids using different songs! =P
As usual, I own nothing. Just borrowing for the time being!

I'm really glad you liked the sections of Morgana and Mordred's deaths - they were two very significant deaths despite being fairly rushed in the finale, and I really wanted to highlight them. This will always be one of my comfort shows. The cast was amazing and the content amazing. I loved every season and every twist and turn within it. Even when in the case of Morgana and Mordred, when they are the enemy and you're supposed to hate them, I actually was sad to see them go just as much as Arthur. This show was just that good.

I've seen lots of video of this song but yours is.. perfection!! It seems like you made a real music videoclip for this song..The scenes fit it perfectly and I watched it totally enchanted!!
ya know its crazy...i thought at first this is just a wonderful teenage, childlike series I ignored it pretty much. Then I started watching, it had wonderful character development, beautiful cinetography and a story line that just totally hooked me. I am kind of like WolfChild13 except I am 59, too heart breaking to even watch the old reruns. Blessings to you Colin and Bradley you too especially did a wonderful job.

I was wondering why the other one had no season 5 and was satisfied to find out this had exactly it. Omg. I love it so much I'm just gonna keep watching this over and over again until my feels are satisfied. Gosh. Good job. ^^
Thank you so much - for watching and commenting on both videos! =) Yes, the first This Is War was made just after the end of series 4, but when the time came I was so fond of the first that I couldn't bring myself to take it down and replace it - so I decided to make a "new" one that could bring in series 5 and possibly correct some of the issues with which I wasn't entirely satisfied in the first one. =)) x
Whatever the case, they're both awesome videos, and I'm very much glad I was able to find them. ^^

Oh my god, this is amazing!!! I remember watching the series in primary school as it came out and I loved it then and then I forgot all about it for a few years but I just spent most of my summer holidays rewatching it. When I was done I started watching videos like this pretty much all day, and I can't believe I've only just found this one, it's the best one I've seen, and I've watched a lot! Well done, it deserves millions of views :-) :-) :-)
I keep coming back to these videos years later because your Merlin seasons 1-4 video was the first "This is War" video I ever saw, and these two have never been beaten by any other vidder with any other show because the quality of yours is far superior and it blows my mind.Thank you so much for blessing us with these masterpieces!

The writers definitely surprised me with the final episode; despite some qualms I had with it I did love the focus on Merlin and Arthur - definitely tragic, but definitely beautiful too; I agree wtih you there!
I was much the same as you - I watched part of the first episode when it aired in 2008, but it didn't really grab me; like you said it was very childlike (and cheesy!) and I couldn't see myself getting into it. When 4.06 aired, though, I watched the episode and was impressed with the difference. Went back, watched the series through, and was hooked. The back half of series 4, and then series 5, disappointed me in a big way, but I am head over heels for the show and always will be!

I do not know how you do it, but you are by far one of the best Vidder I've ever seen on UA-cam. And I've seen a lot! The second I like even a bit better than the first!

I don't think you understand how ecstatic I was when I found you made a sequel!!! Though I am sobbing now, that was just utterly brilliant! Gah just the ending alone! You are truly amazing! I absolutely LOVED the middle section where first we see Mordred and his quick sections of clips followed by Morgana's death with the same thing. Just beyond belief!
OH MY GOD. I watched the first video, and absolutely adored it, but you completely blew me away with this one. I feel like it connected with the feel of the music more, with the longer video clips and then the rapid shuffles during intense parts. I also really liked the more muted colouring, and then of course the clips from 5x13 broke my heart. All together, super fabulous job!

This was beautiful and perfect and every little thing I can't right now, oh my god I'm just at a loss because my emotions and tears are taking over and I can't think fully to express my love for this, but it was amazing!
There are only those RARE occasions when I'll find a video that uses this song the correct way and that's a challenge because of it being such an intense song anyway. But yours is the best video I have seen of this song BY FAR!!!!! Great job I had chills the whole video!!!!!

Finally. I found it. The Merlin video with this song I could save. I'm picky when it comes to this song. And Merlin was not gonna be any different. This song is so over used, but I love it, and it fits so many fandoms, that when I look for a vid with this song, it has to be perfect. It has to flow right, to math up with the music just so. And this is the one I have chosen. It is beautiful.

Both the videos never fail to give me goosebumps. I have a slight preference for the first one, mainly because the brightness/saturation(?) in this one gives it a hazy, misty glow which detaches me from it... I think the darker/more saturated version of the first suited the tone better, giving it more grit. But the choice of clips and editing is slightly better in this. Great work :) Makes me miss Merlin.

Hi! If I'm not mistaken (and I may be; I'm at work so I can't check my cilps at the moment! =P) that clip is from 3.05, The Crystal Cave. Merlin goes to see Kilgharrah about a way to save Morgana after she's fallen down the stairs and Merlin's watched Uther, Arthur, et al grieving for her.

You are not alone. My sister finished the series after me, and I had to leave the room whenever she was watching the show. I just kept thinking about how they were going to go through hell. Then, when my sister finished (she was 10) she came in my room and we cuddled through the pain. I still can't watch reruns.

Awesome vid! I prefer the old version, but that's just me. :) One thing I would comment on is that when you've got 4 characters appearing in one shot, it's a bit difficult to see everyone. I had to pause it every time to see who you'd included. But I still love the vid.
